This show continues to be one of the more psychologically thrilling, sci-fi coming-of-age stories I've seen, as Shinji shows some determination to befriend his fellow Eva pilot, Rei; particularly after noticing the close relationship she has with his estranged father.
And this show continues to not only weave in character relationships, mystery, bizarrely intriguing imagery, but also has some of the most STRESSFUL CLIFFHANGERS...and we're only 5 episodes in. Hoo boy.
