Wow, it's been such a long journey, but I'm finally to the end of Mo Dao Zu Shi! In this video I listen to the last four extras of the Audio Drama AND do live reactions to the readings as I read Chapters 114 - 126!
All I can say is: What has been read cannot be UNREAD! **nervous laugh**
Thank you for joining me on this journey through MDZS; it's incredibly bittersweet to end this story, but I still have the English translations to look forward to getting and I've long wanted to start the next leg of my dive into MXTX's works, and here we are! Heaven Official's Blessing: reactions start next week! I'm so hyped!

It’s very bittersweet – the only positive is that we’re about to start HOB, which I’ve been waiting so long for, so that’s good! ^^ That is VERY interesting with your perspective, having read/watched HOB first – I love that these are going to be DIFFERENT series! I am up for something fresh, and I’m excited to see what MXTX has up her sleeve with this new story (new for me, anyway). The third season of the donghua is definitely my favorite, so I’m glad the reactions helped renew some love for MDS! :) I have a feeling MXTX’s works are going to consume a lot of my free time, hahaha!! :D Not that that’s a bad thing! I DO love that WuXian “confronts” HuaiSang, to basically let him know that WWX KNOWS what’s up…it’s so good, and the weaving of him as being behind it all essentially is just brilliant, indeed. And leaving it wide open with us the audience saying, “We don’t know” by the end? *chef’s kiss* The extra moments are both sugary sweet to the point of nearly giving you diabetes and spicy enough to make you need to down a gallon of milk. I can’t look at Bichen the same way after this! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how WangXian is different from the other pairings MXTX has created. #nospoilers of course, hahahahaha!! ;) But yes, what a journey – never worry about long comments – y’all know how I like to ramble! :) I’m so excited to start a new MXTX work with you all and to see what this new roller coaster has in store! <3

2022-05-09 15:48:57 +0000 UTCI’ve been absent with my comments for the past two reactions, so here’s a culmination of my overall thoughts: I can’t believe we’re here at the end already 😭😭😭 it’s been such a journey. It’s almost bittersweet. I’ll miss Wangxian shenanigans, but Heaven Official’s Blessing is up next, which I’ve been so excited for you to react to. If I’m being honest here, I wasn’t such a big fan of the series. I watched/read Heaven Official’s Blessing first, and it absolutely blew me away. It was just so much more easier to get into, and I loved everything about it that I couldn’t help but think Mo Dao Zu Shi wouldn’t be able to even compare in my mind. It was just a struggle for me to watch the donghua because the flashback switches were confusing, and I didn’t have anyone to help me through it, so I had to learn what was happening all on my own. There’s so much you needed to learn about Chinese culture to understand certain things and the overall plot didn’t really grasp my interest. Even when I got to the end, I still felt pretty “meh” about it because I was so hyped on Heaven Official’s Blessing. The only character I was really interested in was Nie Huaisang, and we got so little of him in the story. So when I heard the third season was coming out, I decided to give MDZS another chance. You were also beginning your reactions around this time, so I thought it would be fun to revisit this series alongside with you. It was then that I realized the more I rewatched/reread it the more I found myself slowly beginning to fall in love with it. I began picking up on things I didn’t during my first read through, like the symbolism and the parallels and all the twists and turns. Now, as you can see, I love the story and all the characters so much. It was definitely a story that needed to grow on me, and I’m so happy that I allowed myself to do so. I can proudly say that MDZS, or well all of mxtx’s works, has taken over my life. The thing I love about the novel’s Huaisang reveal is the fact that Wei Wuxian confronts Nie Huaisang about it without really actually confronting him. Then Huaisang being like “well, I didn’t do it BUT if I did, here’s how I would do it” and that’s just so BRILLIANT. I love him, we stan a mastermind king. 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I agree, I like how MXTX keeps everything open-ended and makes Huaisang stick with his Headshaker act even when it’s all somewhat revealed. I think it makes Huaisang’s reveal so much better because it was so carefully planned out that there really is no concrete evidence of him being the mastermind behind all the events leading toward Jin Guangyao’s downfall. And it’s almost poetic justice that we “don’t know” if Huaisang is actually the culprit behind it all, just as the Headshaker “doesn’t know” anything. Full circle moment, I love it!! All these extra moments after, even the whole finale seeing Mianmian again, Sizhui bonding with his dads, and learning about the song name Wangxian, they’re so domestic — I feel like I’ve gained so many cavities just seeing them finally get to be happy at each other’s side. I think, of the three mxtx couples, Wangxian has the most satisfying lovey-dovey post-canon. Especially with the spicy scenes (ahem, ahem BICHEN 😳😳😳). Well, not in the sense that the other couples don’t have satisfying romantic ends, they do, but, to me, TGCF/Heaven Official’s Blessing is romantic from the get-go while for MDZS we had to fight tooth and nail to get to the Wangxian romance so I think that’s why Wangxian getting together is more cathartic, if that makes sense. Also, I think there were censorship issues when mxtx was writing TGCF so they had to make the sexy time scenes only an implied spiciness (don’t quote me on this, I think this is what I heard happen but I can’t remember if this is true or not). And in SVSSS, the main couple wasn’t really my cup of tea, so I wasn’t super invested in their relationship. But man, what a journey. This comment has gotten really long, and I still feel like I didn’t talk enough about everything I wanted to. But I can’t wait to see your reaction for Heaven Official’s Blessing next week! I promise you, it’s just as compelling and an emotional rollercoaster as Mo Dao Zu Shi, so I hope your ready for it :DDDD

I remember noting he had SuiBian - that's awesome! :) I'm glad that we at least have confirmation they've seen one another! :) **aggressive LWJ noizes** may be my new favorite! :3 I love that LWJ just wants to feed WuXian...food and otherwise, ho ho ho.... Ahhhh, and so much of this was SWOONWORTHY between them, hahaha! The hardcore roleplay is so crazy -- it makes sense it's the adult versions fantasizing about them being younger and doing...things...it's just...MXTX spares no expense, eh? :P I loved these last set of chapters! WHAT a way to finish the story, right?! Thank you for the comment! :)

At least a bit, just enough for Jiang Cheng to give the sword over. FOOD EQUALS LOVE SO EAT UP *agressive LWJ noizes* "You can try now see for yourself if I will ever refuse you" Is. The height. Of romance, good sir. So, as I stated in my thesis (lol) over text files in Discord, I believe the library dream is a fantasy of a hardcore roleplay enacted by their younger selves, created in ADULT LWJ thanks to ADULT Wei Ying's words during their first time. Does that change the situation? Yeah, I do believe so.
