My heart was not ready for the emotional roller coaster these sets of episodes were! Not one, but TWO catcher injuries, and the two teams involved having to work through their situations to beat their opponents. Leave it to a King and a Sunshine Boy to bring out that "winning" mentality, though, to persevere!
I am loving the "All Star Weekend" and scrimmages in this set of episodes; these episodes just that right blend of emotion and inspiration -- typical Ace of the Diamond, right?

SLENDER MAN!! Hahahaahah — wow, I didn’t think he was too creepy as a person, but his SMILE sure is! That’s great, though! YES, though, it was great seeing Mei showcase how despite being “tiny,” how much of a dream crusher he could be. But yeah, if he knew English, he would have probably been up in their faces, haha! No wonder the Americans get along great with “Elvis!” :P That IS an interesting note of how AoD uses twins to help cement how the team itself is! That’s pretty cool; I can get behind that. Hahahaha, Koshu is TRAPPED. **cue “Hotel California blaring** I love it, though. You ASKED for this, Wolf Boy. I honestly didn’t see Ono getting injured coming, but it alllll makes sense in hindsight – DEFINITELY did not see Inui getting injured RIGHT AFTERWARDS, either, haha! But the sad thing is that everyone loves Inui and Ono, which makes their injuries hurt all the more. I wasn’t ready for Nabe to start tearing up; that got me, haha! I like the idea that Ochiai’s words deflected off of Miyuki because he’s too much of a troll hahahaa! At least Umemiya was ready to THROW DOWN to protect his BFF – see, he and Mei have SOMETHING in common! :) Let’s hope the summer stays away from being cursed any more for Seido and injuries….no more room for that! @_@ And YES, Carlos throws such “cool” shade towards Mei – it’s the smoothest of sarcasm. Shirakawa’s jealousy at Miyuki is hilarious in this, indeed. XD That IS true, though; Mei DID remember Sawamura! Yay!! And that is a good point about Mei and how he relates with all the catchers. Sawamura as leader-senpai is just too beautiful! :) The ace energy off our boy is just radiant! ^^ Yesssss, these episodes were great, but this coming week should be FUN! :)

He was adorable as a kid but damn is he slender man like 😂 There's very little that gives me joy the way the Americans calling Mei "tiny" does lol. I dont care how average he is height wise, he just looks tiny unless he's destroying dreams. If Mei understood English I'm sure he would be swinging at them calling him small lol. He strikes me as the type to get offended by that. Speaking of Mei and destroying dreams, its so funny to see that even to these big, bulky Americans, he's still so intimidating. Just says a lot about his actual skills as a pitcher and his aura on the mound. Ah the twins lol. I agree that haikyuu does twins very well but in this case I do think that these twins being next to carbon copies of themselves is used to reinforce the type of team Yamamori is. You could argue that most of the team is full of players who are exactly the same as the twins lol. I still think it's really cool that TJ chose to include a twin battery who's clearly very good since they frequent Koshien. Through these episodes I feel like you can just FEEL Koushuus regret over being on the first string now since he now has to listen to Sawamura yell at such close range 🤣 he can't just turn around and leave anymore. It does seem so obvious watching it back, that something bad was gonna happen with Ono, but even knowing all that I really love seeing Ono shine. He's been around for so long now but it's really the first time we actually see how he plays and we get to hear what his strengths as a catcher are. It's also so cool knowing how easy it would be for him to slack since Miyuki is almost always present but he doesn't. He still strives to work harder and be better and I love him for that. They built him up so much only to crush him (literally) but I still loved seeing him. Kataokas praise for Ono warmed my heart so much. He loves his kids ❤️ When Ochiai told Miyuki not to get hurt before he went to the All star weekend, he was actually jinxing Ono and Inui lol. That jinx deflected off Miyuki and hit the other catchers in his spot 🤣 Inui lookin like a whole mob boss tagging Carlisle out with that English coming out of his mouth lol. Spooky. Also Umemiya was bring fully held back from running onto the field to fight Carlisle over Inui. I'd say it's cute that he's so protective but I do think he's just an aggressive player lol. Its hilarious how little the crowds actually know about injuries on seidou. There's been so many injuries they've had no clue about. But summer does feel very cursed for Seidou. I think more than just the teammates and the coaches have been a little traumatized by Chris' injury lol Nabe started crying INSTANTLY with Ono. That's an emotional boy. What an empath lol. But so sweet. I love how sarcastically Carlos keeps calling Mei "king" lol. Even saying it to Miyuki that he thinks he can handle their "king" sounds so sarcastic. And Shirakawa muttering about how it'll be Miyukis fault if they lose is probably one of my only moments of finding Shirakawa hilarious lol. I actually love the detail of Mei remembering Sawamura from the finals last year. He knows all too well what a working battery with Miyuki looks like and how it feels to bat against it. Carlos is way too fast man lol. Miyuki asking how anyone's supposed to get him out feels like such a foreshadow 🤣 but it's probably true. I would love to see someone actually get him out at second but I can't imagine anyone with an arm fast enough to do that. Like last time where Shirakawa was claiming that Miyuki brags about his ability in the clutch, he also lied in this set lol. Itsuki, bless his heart, would not have ever hit off Conrad. Miyuki is a much better hitter than Itsuki and if he could only barely pull a grounder, Itsuki wouldn't be hitting at all 🤣 I loooove seeing Sawamura as a leader. Even though it's only ! quick scene, him telling Koushuu to get warmed up and get on the bench is such a boss move. It's not necessarily him thinking Yuis gonna need help but anything can happen in a game, as Ono and Inui prove, so it's important to have backups ready to go incase of injury or anything else. But Sawamura instantly stopped cheering for Furuya to go serious enough to tell Koushuu to get ready to play and that's such leader boss shit. I think part of Mei with catchers is about comfortability. Mei with Itsuki, Harada and Miyuki is going to be different than Mei with Inui because Mei has had to work with Itsuki and Harada everyday personally because they're on the same team. So they have to work together for a long time. Mei has to like how they call for him and he gets to know them enough that he can be honest about what he wants from them. With Miyuki, they've been friends for a long time and Meis always appreciated his gamecalling. If they had been on the same team I'm sure they would've gotten into more issues because like you said, they're nothing alphas in that situation. With Inui I think Mei didn't feel the need to cause any issues because they were only going to be a team for 3 days and Inui is good enough to where Mei wouldn't have any immediate issues to address with him. Anyway, I love these episodes, no matter how sad, and its always fun to see how people react to the injuries lol. Excited for next week 🐺
