What can I say about this episode except: OH MY GOD! I didn't suspect that L would just waltz up to Light and announce who he is, but HERE. WE. ARE.
I cannot tell you how insanely excited I was with this episode, but the reaction will probably speak for itself...and we have so much set up: L and Light become besties on campus, the cat and mouse getting OH so much more interesting, and Light FINALLY truly losing his cool...oh, the game is JUST getting started! Seriously...WHAT an episode!

This is SUCH a good episode! It may be my favorite so far in the series along with Episode 8! The L move is so good! The balls on our strange, quirky detective! And yesssss, Light going from being BORED to finding a “worthy adversary” is soooo twisted and intriguing! And yesssss, frenemies romance on the darkest stage? HERE FOR IT! Yeah, both Brad and Miyaono have Light’s laugh down to a “T,” it’s just chilling and iconic! I agree, it IS really sad that Light is talking about using the people closest to him as a means to an end for L. :’( The ceremony was all I could have asked for and more! I just loved it! Yesss, the two of them are literally the PERFECT rival for one another. SO different and so oddly similar; I love it! I love the red vs. blue comparison as well! And yesssss, Ryuk is the ultimate alleviator of tension in this show! And I love it! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I was SO surprised with this episode and I am excited to be surprised by future episodes! :)

I love this episode with his iconic *Watashi va L* I told you the fun is just beginning when these two will put a face on the other one. Now that L move was BOOOOLD but so brilliant. Getting Light into a corner by revealing himself so he is immune and rattling Light to watch his reaction !! OMG!! Ballsy!! Light is feeling rejuvenated and alive, which explain his demeanor change in the end from a freak out to a maniac laugh, because as twisted at it is , he finally has some one on his level that can challenge him and he will get fun playing against him I am all for the frenemies romance 😁😁 And that Miyano’ s laugh!! Iconic!! !! I ve seen a YT video once about iconic laughs in any media and Light s laugh was second only to the unmistakeable Jocker’s. I think the line about his father Being used is more an analogy like it is a chess game between the two of them, and those around them are being used like pawns , which sad and heartbreaking because pawns are there only as a mean to an end in this case checkmating L or Light. That ceremony was something : The shock, the real encounter, Light getting bested 😤 and L getting a fangirl 😝🥳🥳 I love how they stand side to side in the ceremony, where all their outside and inside differences stand out BUT also their similarities are there too being well spoken, stupid smart and nonchalant . The parallel between the antisocial behavior of L and the apparent perfect social manners of perfect facade Light is so speaking !! So different but oddly enough so similar !! And the different colors in that still!! Red and blue, cold and obsession… pristine !! Thank God for Ryuk being there because he alleviate the atmosphere !! I can’t wait for you to get to more iconic moments in the next episodes !! And I loved loved loved your shock over this episode, I ve been waiting for it since you started DN, amazing reaction and discussion as always.

2022-06-11 15:06:15 +0000 UTCThere is a saying in Japan, that getting into a good college is the hardest time of your life but studying in college is the most relaxed time and graduating is kinda a given. A contrast to America, AFAIK. L just gives me that iguana vibes now. There is kind of urban legend-ish story where someone's pet iguana bit them and was following them around the house diligently. Was he feeling guilty? Nope that's just how they hunt with their venomous bite and then just wait for the prey to fall weakened or dead. That's L right now.
