Yona of the Dawn: Manga Volume 23 Reaction & Review!

I honestly could NOT wait to get to Volume 23, and I was NOT disappointed! My heart goes out to Zeno, to Yona, to Hak, and to us the audience for not only dealing with the tension and angst this volume brings, but HAK! HE SAID THE THING! This is NOT a drill, y'all!
Now that his feelings are coming out into the open, and we're getting interweaving into his past with Soo-won and LITERALLY heading there to see him...what will come of it all?! Hak's whispering the "L" word...are we getting close to him saying it out loud?! **fangirl screeching commences**

Yay!!! Catching up! :) And yesssss, I feel SO bad for Zeno...he didn't ask for this! T_T Everyone looks great in Xing, but Mizari is indeed creepy - I ended up liking his character more by the end of the arc! Kusanagi giving us allllll the character parallels! :) Yotaka and Kija WOULD be a good combo! I wish we'd get more of them! And yes, we stan for strong women, whether it's in will or strength or intelligence! :) Kusanagi gives us PLENTY of them! And yes, seeing Yona actually breakdown -- it was going to happen eventually, and it was good that it didn't happen later rather than sooner. And ahhh, I did feel for the Wind Tribe not seeing Hak for the holidays (That should be its own OVA just for the title alone), but I love that he chose to make Yona happy and stay with her. 2022-08-25 22:46:28 +0000 UTCI'm on my way to catch up. XD I feel so bad for Zeno. Mizari is creepy but I enjoy his character a lot. Yotaka is so pretty. It's always the long haired guys that gets me. He's one of my favourites in this arc. I can't get over how good Kouren looks. She's so pretty. Yeah, I really like the parallels between Kouren/Tao and Yu-hon/Ill and how Soo-won and the sisters look similar. It's interesting. Yotaka is pretty cute. The little blush when Kija complimented him was adorable. I need more of that duo now. XD I love that we got to see Yona having a panic attack. There's so much weighing down on her that it just makes sense for her to have a break down. Knowing that if this doesn't work they will kill the people she cares about, a war will break out ect. What I love about the women in AkaYona is that they are all strong but in a different way. Some are mentally strong, some are really smart and some have a strong body. I love that Kusanagi gives us so many different strong characters. In the first bonus chapter it kinda made me sad that Hak didn't go home. They were so excited to see him again. I love how she's pushing to get what she wants and to save her people...how far our princess has come! It's such a tentative situation -- I definitely was sad that the dragons didn't defend themselves -- I can see right now how it makes things so dire. My only hope is that Kusanagi didn't want a full scale war to start in that moment, and instead is planning on either Tao or Yona reaching Soo-Won to stop the situation first....but we'll see, right? I definitely want to come back to that moment at the end of the arc! UGH, Zeno breaks my heart. He's so self-sacrificing, knowing he'll live, despite all the pain it will bring him. It crushes me! And yesssssssssss -- hahahaha, I was trying to get through the volume, to not interupt the flow of the story, and then I could calmly FREAK OUT about the dropped "L" word once the volume was finished, hahahaha! How dare Kusanagi drop that on us?! Kidding, I was reeling! I loved it so much! Thank you for the kind words and comment!! Now that the cat's out of the bag with Hak saying he loves Yona, I can't imagine what Kusanagi has in store for us!!!

2022-06-28 18:50:24 +0000 UTCThis volume is fantastic !! I love Yona ´s badassery revealing her identity and taking things in hand to avoid a war that could hurt thousands of lives!! Unlike Kouren, she can put her emotions aside for the sake oc the greater good!! Go girl!! The things, I am uncomfortable woth this volume was the dragon’s decision not to fight. I mean I know where they are coming from to avoid war, but they could have defend without taking a beating😢 now the two side have the upperhand: Kuren has hostages and Su Woon will have the advantage on Yona!! This is one of the very very few moments I didn’t under Kusanagi’s end goal!! But we shall see!! Zeno, being ok to be killed multiple times so his brothers will get food and medicine !! How sad is that!! And, finally, my inner medieval self made a joy dance when the L word finally dropped !! You can sense that he can’t fight it anymore, he loves her so much that it slipped in a beautiful moment !! Sighs *** Thank u Kusanagi, for making the burn , boiling now !! We have been waiting for 23 volumes !! And I loved your delayed freak out , I was laughing for 5 minutes, like Romania, did you not fully register in the moment, ? Was it really that overwhelming that you shut down until the end of the volume?? 😜🤪 i am just teasing!! Can’t wait for next volume and freak out 😂😂 Wonderful video as per usual!
