There's a LOT going on in this week's video: We get not only the OVA, Extras and Commercials provided by @animeannie (THANK YOU), but also reactions to the OP and two ED English Lyrics! FUN TIMES!
The OVA was all I could have hoped for and more -- THIS was much more of an end to season one and something to get us hyped for season two, seeing more of our sweet (but damaged) Xie Lian together with his ghostly king (who thinks he's STILL not good enough for Xie Lian -- staaaahhhhpppp), and their ghostly daughter stuck in a jar...only MXTX could give us such madness and make it so good!

That makes sense that Zhao is just a part of Pei Jr. -- sort of like the puppet that attacked XL and SL earlier on in the series; thanks for that explanation, too! That is a good point about the ashes and the fact that SL has been likely cremated and isn't in a "true" physical form is fascinating! I'll have to bring that up in a future discussion -- it also makes sense that he is traumatized from his childhood and his growing up and how people looked at him. I got all that from the episode, don't worry, but it's just fun to poke fun at because we the audience realize how silly he's being -- we know that XL doesn't care what people look like or who they are; if he likes you, he likes you. And SL is hot in his true form -- so all his worrying, we the audience know it's probably not going to be needed in the end. ;) Of course, XL doesn't know that it's HC that he rescued; hence the awkward moment he kind of mocks himself in that moment, which SL is a little sad with, because it was him that XL was referring to and SL knows it. Also, it's not a spoiler to say the ring isn't silver, but I don't want ANY hints or clues, please. If I get something wrong in the discussion, please don't correct me, haha! Let me be wrong until I figure it out on my own reading! I greatly appreciate it; I know I'm annoying in all the spoilers I want to avoid, but I just want to keep my experience with the series the best it can be. Many thanks!

Instead of "alter ego", the translation I saw called them "clones" - which I think is closer to the right term. It's like, a god (or a powerful ghost) splits off a piece of theirself which can act independently and look like whatever. Meanwhile, the real thing can go about his/her business in the Heavenly Realm. Zhao is only a part of Pei Jr. And San Lang said he's in his main body, but it's obviously not his "true" form. This isn't a clone/puppet but Crimson Rain Sought Flower in the ghost-flesh. If we think about it - his real body is long-since reduced to ashes/bones, so what we see in the...music video...is his soul-shaped ghost body. If that makes sense. Remember, if you have the actual ashes, you control the ghost and can end their existence. That's why giving your ashes to a loved one is a very risky but super romantic gesture. But it seems like some ghosts merely inhabit/maintain their original bodies...it's confusing, but I think that's what is going on with the Banyue soldiers and Banyue herself. I think Hua Cheng still thinks of himself as that little boy with the bandages. We don't know what was hidden under them, but people being people, they probably called him ugly a lot. So he really is unsure about whether Xie Lian will find his true self attractive. Only *we* get to know how hot he really is. Also, HC doesn't know what type Xie Lian would find attractive so...it's possible he really is worried that he won't appeal. HC laughs at Xie Lian's response - it's so like him. "I don't care what you look like - I like you... But what DO you really look like? Huh? Huh?" It's just so cute. The music video gave us Hua Cheng's POV of all those events in the montage - Xie Lian still doesn't know HC is that little kid or what he looks like for real. Xie Lian caught the little boy, then Hua Cheng catches Xie Lian when he's falling into the Sinner's Pit - another mirror of events. The ring isn't silver. On to the book/manhua/audio drama! Woot!
