I look through Chapters 42-43 in the novel and the new Manhua Chapter 82 in English! Oooh my, the Windmaster and Xie Lian shenanigans, Hua Cheng jealous of Ying Lang, E'MING MY LOVE, and the most INSANE cliffhanger...novel...how dare you leave us with THAT?! WHAT?!

I was certainly among the innocent until you all pointed it out and then…oh MY, MXTX! But yeah, XL being the “problem child” indeed! He’s just following his instincts, right? I also love that detail about animals loving him! I agree, XL has to be a decent person if animals flock to him, right? Having seen the manhua for that week NOW, it makes total sense to have put those parts together so that Starember didn’t have to draw them separately! And yes, HC making sure that his XL feels pampered, but yeah, it’s very similar to JW offering the palace – XL just doesn’t feel like that’s a part of him anymore…which is really sad! Ahhhh, I DID think that the spit-take was due to that being alcohol – that was a clever bait by the manhua and I fell for it! :D I’m glad you all black boxed that! It was a fun surprise for this set of chapters! And ohhhhh, Xie Lian is really cut off from EVERYTHING intimate. Hm. Interesting. And yes, that red string – all the little mysteries I know we have SO MUCH story to go through! And the Windmaster recognizes flirting when they see it! Haha, thank you! I’m trying to be as unbiased as I can be! :P And OH! Yes, Emperor’s New Groove is one of my favorites – that totally could have applied here – though LQQ would be Kronk, if anyone! ^^ The Windmaster isn’t too much like Ezma…unless you scratch the face, and then we have trouble! :P It is sad seeing XL be so used to escaping by such means, but I like that it’s made him resourceful for situations like this! And YES, he definitely regards anything HC that could be remotely devious as just a puppy digging at the carpet. Haha!! And yes, a nice tie-back to one of the overarching themes in the story about appearances being deceiving… Good thing we can’t judge the unknown male character in the shadows because we can’t see them! Woo! And yesssss, MXTX, how DARE you with that cliffhanger! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment!

They're definitely not faultless! :) That's also a great update from Xie Lian's first lines at the bridge, that he's been through enough to know that one will likely encounter darkness, as long as they stay true to themselves through it -- our bean has been through so much! And I'm sure in 800 years...there's been a LOT happen to our divine bean! Hahahaha, yeah, with as much as I talk about 2 chapters, I'll probably only doe 2-3 chapters at a time and If I get to a cliffhanger...well....that'll just make my hunger for the next week all the bigger, right?! Hahah! E'Ming is a puppy...hence why I probably like it so much! Yes, I feel like most innocent of readers would not mistake the phallic symbolism of Xie Lian 'petting' Hua Cheng's scimitar 😈 Xie Lian in this moment seems rather child-like. Especially with him having remembered Jun Wu's words of warning regarding E'Ming in the previous chapter. Jun Wu: Don't touch it. Xie Lian: *pets E'Ming* Learning that animals like Xie Lian just gives me all the more reason to be trusting and love him. Animals can sense a person's true character far better than other people can, so I trust their treatment of characters (and people in real life) more than what other people have to say or think about them. I feel like the switching of the chapters for the manhua was very much a pacing thing. For the manhua it makes sense to have the Lang Ying parts be all together and then Xie Lian and Hua Cheng going off on their date. For Hua Cheng giving the lavish feast for Xie Lian I feel like it's about wanting to treat him as is due to him as the Crown Prince of Xianle. But for Xie Lian that life is something from his faraway past and he's now a very different person. In a depreciating way it could be that he doesn't feel worthy of being treated with the same respect due to him as Taizi Dianxia, as Xie Lian is now only a mere scrap-collecting god. Your reaction to realising the server was Shi Qingxuan was hilarious. I did comment about it on discord last week (behind black boxes). The only reason I noticed in the manhua is because the pose they do is nearly the exact same pose as their first entrance in the manhua. In the manhua Xie Lian did notice and did a massive spit take because of it, but you probably just accepted it as him forgetting himself in regards to drinking alcohol. Just a little clarification on Xie Lian abstaining from sex; that includes *all* forms of sexual intimacy, including self-love 😜 He did previously mention how he'd have liked to have read the books about Pei Ming's exploits but due to his Cultivation method this would be a no-no. So even porn or smut is off limits. May help explain his complete obliviousness. Hua Cheng lending Xie Lian luck 😍🥰 Why is this so dang romantic?! The red string...🙊 Xie Lian being the sensible one questioning Lang Qianqiu's whereabouts. "shouldn't" is the key word in your comment there Wind Master. That's not a definite. And this is all immediately after what happened in the Gambler's Den. But Shi Qingxuan can have some sense at times! They know hand foreplay when they see it! 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Xie Lian getting called out. But he's an oblivious bean and really doesn't see it as being possibly anything like that. I like your attempts to not judge Jun Wu. You're doing pretty well on trying to see all sides 🤭 Xie Lian always making sure to not make assumptions about *anyone* but especially Hua Cheng. The free-falling into another tunnel, I'm sorry but it always makes me think of The Emperor's New Groove ("Wrong lever, Kronk!") 😂 There a new Disney reference for this week! Xie Lian calling Hua Cheng "mischievous" makes him sound like a misbehaving child/puppy. Xie Lian using his experience with how he lived after his banishment from heaven to try and save them! And Shi Qingxuan is getting to experience *a lot* they've never experienced before by being at Xie Lian's side. "Xie Lian was practiced in the art of escape" so Xie Lian is that era's Houdini 😂 Shi Qingxuan: Run for our lives! *gets scratched on the face* You scratched my face. Prepare to die. Xie Lian seeing past the illusion of the figure the Wind Master seemingly portrays in their first meeting I think is a great reminder for us the readers that we shouldn't make judgements on characters/people based off of their first appearance. *introduction of unknown male character* Mo Xiang Tong Xiu: Allow me to introduce you to your friendly neighbourhood cliff-hanger! 😂

2022-10-06 21:15:28 +0000 UTCI absolutely love the Shi Qingxuan and Xie Lian shenanigans. This solidified my appreciation of them being besties. I also like how you point out that seeing this disheveled and vain Shi Qingxuan really peels away the godly front that people would expect from a powerful being. That he’s just as human as the rest — it goes back to my comment a few reactions ago where, just like the ghosts were humans once, the gods were also humans, which is something that’s easily forgotten due to their immortality. But that brings up the point that I think MXTX is trying to make is that both ghosts and gods not all that different from each other, despite seeming like they’re these invincible or faultless beings. That line, “if one is sure to maintain peace at heart, unmoved by wins and losses, then avoidance isn’t technically necessary”. When I reread that line, I couldn’t help but see it as a loose call back to Xie Lian’s famous quote: “body in abyss, heart in paradise” from when he fought the spirit on the bridge before his first ascension (its in Ch.1/prologue if ur looking for it). But it’s more like a jaded version of his famous words, almost like he knows better than to be too optmistic but not be too pessimistic. It shows Xie Lian’s maturity, that things have changed compared to when he first said the words as a naive, optimistic prince. It also adds to the wonder of what made Xie Lian this way, which we’ll find out in due time 😎😎😎 And NOT THE CLIFFHANGER NOOOOO. I didn’t think you would stop there!!! The story was just picking up!!! And also keep theorizing!!! I love your theories even if they make me black box in the discord server! It’s always so interesting to see people’s thought processes on how a story will go. They’re very entertaining, and it’s always the fun part when reading a book in my opinion!!! Anyways, I absolutely love this volume. It’s probably my favorite of the English releases. It’s where the story truly begins, and I’m so excited for you to get farther in!!! Now, I must patiently await for next week to see your reaction for the next coming chapters!!

I originally was going to just read Chapter 44 on its own, but decided to read 45 with it, to keep with the 2 chapter thing, so that's good. And ahahahahaha, of COURSE E'Ming is a representation of HC's sexuality haha! I do love that HC doesn't get a break, having to even be jealous of his own sword! :P But then, can you blame, E'Ming? When XL is so considerate! I don't want any hints or clues at anything happening or to be revealed in the story, but I wouldn't be surprised if more trauma was to come. T-T And yes, it WOULD be weird if HC didn't know the prisoner was there...the question is: who are they and why are they there? I guess we'll find out, eh? And yessss, LQQ and the Windmaster both having attributes of XL from his past does make it sadder when you see how XL is now, used to scraping through the mud like it's nothing. Our prince has definitely become humbled! Hmmm, maybe HC is trying to make things easier for his XL? hahaha, we shall see, eh? Thank you so much for the kind words and comment!! And it's quite lucky that you choose to do just chapter 42-43 because chapter 44 is an even bigger cliffhanger LOL The scimitar E'Ming is exactly HC's blade, straight as its master(which is, not at all). And it clearly loves XL just like HC, guess this poor ghost king needs to deal with even more obsession towards his beloved god, and this time it's his own weapon! Our sweet deity is very considerate, not touching E'Ming's eye while petting the blade, thinking to himself that poking someone's eye will hurt a lot. The problem is, where did he learn all that eye poking stuff? I see even more trama coming…… I'm not sure whether keeping the prisoner there is the wanning moon officer's idea or HC's, but either way HC must've known about the existence of the prisoner. I mean, dude can find a random bandaged boy in a whole ghost city, and he cannot tell there's one extra prisoner right under his eye? Wind master may resemble a bit of XL in his prince era I guess, he's young, wealthy and strong, not used to working under hard circumstances and cares about his pretty face. Which makes it sadder when you think about what has happened in the past 800 years that reshaped XL into this modest scrap collecter familiar with worms and rolling in the mud. I know this may be considered as cheating, but if you use your fingers to hold the dice, six facing up, and carefully dropped them down while not making them turn, does that count as a throw? If so it's gonna be so easy to just 'throw' out whatever number you want. Thanks for the reaction and all the theories!

I'm sooo excited to see what's up with him as we move forward! Will he stay put?! :D We shall see, eh! And YES! MXTX and that darn unreliable narrator! WTH!? hahaha! And that's a good point to note -- hmmmm -- it seems the Windmaster instantly knows who the shackled person and the voice at the end could be -- good thing that XL has such a popular, knowledgeable person with him! That's also a good point about the Windmaster trying to conserve energy -- I hadn't thought of it that way, but that could very well be! And yessss what a darn CLIFFHANGER! 2022-10-03 17:36:24 +0000 UTCjust a little correction for the future - Lang in Lang Ying's name is the surname and comes first so just so it fits with the order of the other names funny how you think LQQ will go for help - even from the few chapters we've seen him in it's obvious he'll just bust straight in unreliable MXTX narrator strikes again! we can't be sure what's the truth! how fun! regarding the shackled individual - it can be assumed that there's so few of shackled gods that Windmaster can immediately say who it could be 👀 the maze is just another typical XL adventure 🤣 but now with a friend! just had a thought: maybe the Windmaster returned to their male form to conserve spiritual energy (since the female form isn't their natural one and would require spiritual energy to maintain) in case anything happens 🤔 yes! one of the themes in the novel is that you can't judge a book by its cover next up: the mysterious male prisoner! who's holding him captive? and why? hmmmm 😏😏
