This set of chapters had QUITE a lot of character development and set up, didn't it? From the reveal of Xie Lian's darker past as Fang Xin, to the guilt and growth of Mu Qing and Feng Xin, to Pei Ming showing up just to make The Windmaster's day go from bad to worse...to even Jun Wu having some subtle reveal -- lots of tiny details given to the audience!
But while Jun Wu may think he's going to have "visiting hours" with Xie Lian, Hua Cheng isn't taking his man being detained sitting down, and decides to come and rescue him! Just...where do we go from here?! I'm so excited to see!

That is really a sad point, that XL doesn't think he was worth someone just coming to see him because they "cared," rather than wanting information! :( It makes me curious as to what backstory we will get revealed on the three of them, of course, I don't want to know until we get to it, haha! :D But yeah, Mu Qing similar to JC makes a LOT of sense with how he acts and is a total tsundere! No hints to his character, though, please! :) I don't want to know if characters are misunderstood or how they end up being -- I want to find that out as I read! Hua Cheng "rescuing" XL and the scene with the silver butterflies is still the funniest thing in the story, maybe, so far! I just love it! But yes! I'm excited to see what will happen next, though! 2022-10-20 18:30:50 +0000 UTCYES, I was wanting to find a way to talk about that, but XL being demisexual or on the ACE spectrum absolutely fits! :) And that's a good commentary about how HC doesn't seem to try and force anything on XL, which, neither does JW to an extent, but JW doesn't seem to "get" that XL has changed and moved on...or he's trying to deny that (we'll see I guess hahahaha). Yesss, MQ and FX are SO fascinating; I've enjoyed hearing how XL describes them! :) And yeah, all this power at their disposal...but a fist fight should do the trick! ^^ And seriously, E'Ming is described as this weapon of mass destruction, and yet is sobbing at the fact that he scraped XL's arm. @.@ The Butterfly scene with XL though is one of the funniest in the story so far. I CANNOT with him! Hahahaha! And hopefully the Windmaster airs out Banyue! Hahaha, maybe he'll assign "Little Pei" to the task! ;) We'll see along with everything else, eh? :D Thanks so much for the comment!

2022-10-20 18:11:52 +0000 UTCAhhhhhh, I love that last chapter. There’s something so heartbreaking about watching Mu Qing, Feng Xin, and Xie Lian interact. These three were once each other’s closest friends/people, and now, they’ve all become estranged from one another. I feel that in this chapter especially, you can really see how Xie Lian’s lack of self-worth affects how he views others. For example, when Mu Qing comes and visits him at his palace, Xie Lian immediately thinks it’s because Mu Qing is just nosy and wants to know all the deets. It doesn’t occur to him that Mu Qing willing came to bring him medicine and ask for his side of the story. I’m always so fascinated by Mu Qing’s character. I would say he’s the Jiang Cheng of the series. Easily misunderstood due to his prickly personality, a total tsun, and just a precious cinnamon roll in need of a hug. I can’t wait until you see more of his character. Side note, can we also talk about how even though Mu Qing and Feng Xin were literally beating each up moments before, they are very much in sync with each other. They have that sort of trope where it’s like “who knows you better than your greatest enemy?” The type that, although they say they hate each other, they understand each other best. They are constantly competing, at each other’s throats most of the time, and yet, are on equal grounds with each other. They have a love-hate relationship that I just enjoy and ship so hard. But then the fighting also breaks my heart because you can clearly tell that they all have regrets and are projecting their own anger, regrets, and insecurities onto each other. I just think these three needs to have a good talk about their feelings and hug it all out 🥺🥺🥺 Anyways, Hua Cheng coming to “kidnap” Xie Lian is hilarious. The way all those silver butterflies start attack Mu Qing and Feng Xin while Xie Lian is just enjoying how cute the slowest butterfly is. But when Hua Cheng and Eming were upset at hurting Xie Lian’s arm??? My hearttttt The next couple of chapters are just 🫢🫢🫢—ah, I can’t wait until next week to see your reaction!

2022-10-19 03:13:47 +0000 UTCI just love PM inserting himself into all situations being like "but what about Pei Jr?" just to touch a little about a comment from previous week - XL being pure of body and mind and seeing him not at all interested in anyone (other that HC 👀) that we've seen - you can really see him being on the ace spectrum funny how both JW and HC spoil XL with grand things but only HC knows what XL currently cares about + does not force him to accept it (says he'll care for it for him) - JW gives the palace to XL of 800 years ago when he was still a spoiled crown prince who liked golden palaces (not realizing he's grown past that long long ago) MQ and FX - it's interesting to see XL comparing how MQ acts when alone with him vs in the public - and then when FX enters you can see how he pulls up his public persona also they're martial gods but the first instinct is to use fists 🤣🤣 I like your theory about E'ming being the embodiment of HC's emotions (haven't thought about it like that 🤔) - how can you say it's a terrifying weapon of mass destruction when it's crying at the reminder that it hurt gege?? 🥺🥺 MQ+FX: desperately trying to defend against the swarm of vicious hell butterflies XL: *talking to the small butterfly* hello little guy, you've worked hard, rest on my hand for a while HC interrupting a Zoom meeting 🤣🤣 that's probably all for this week - where is HC taking XL? do we resolve the Fangxin case anytime soon? how likely are MQ and FX to follow both of them? is Banyue okay 🤣
