These episodes FLOORED ME! I had expectations for this game and what we got went above and beyond! Also...KISE X AOMINE makes ALLLL the sense now! I'm here for it. The animation, music, VA-work; all of it led these three episodes to be an absolute BLAST to watch!
And now, we've completed Season 1! It's FLOWN by, but we still have some Season 1 goodies to get through this month before we launch into Season 2 in 2023! I'm SO hyped!

HAHAHA, I feel this first season went by SO FAST in comparison to Ace of the Diamond, it's unreal! I agree, though, Kise's realization that having a team is a good thing and giving the shot to Kasamatsu, even if it cost him the game, is GROWTH and I love it. I'll admit, though, seeing Kasamatsu crying afterwards is HARD. Definitely! I also agree that I think Aomine THOUGHT about helping him up, Kasamatsu just beat him to the punch. The shipping board -- I had a list started, but I started to give up on it 3/4's of the way through this season; I'm glad Anime Annie is keeping tabs for me! The shipping in this series is ridiculous!! And yes, excited to see how that seven deadly sins thing lines up -- but yes, "Winter is Coming," and I'm excited, too! Thanks for the comment!

2023-01-16 00:07:15 +0000 UTCThere we have it, Season 1! I can't believe it's passed by so quickly. But it's also only the equivalent of 1/7 of AotD, so it hard to guage length anymore. And what a game to finish off with. Honestly, I think this is my favorite match of any we've seen so far. I won't say "perfect", but it's up there. And even if it's not Kuroko playing, I think that the end result, Kise's change of heart, synthesizes everything Kuroko has been striving for up until this point. Compare that with the Kise in middle school who is just bored of everything and picks up basketball because he thinks he's found someone impossible too beat, and thus ever get bored towards. Sadly, letting go of the boredom, and selfiness and hero worship is still not enough against Aomine. And seeing Kise and Kasamatsu (especially) crying in defeat are so hard. They all worked so hard. It doesn't surprise me that Aomine didn't help Kise up - although I do think Aomine thought about it - but I think it was best for -my-KiKasa-ship- one of Kise's teammates to help him up. It solidified their brotherhood. By the way, you /will/ need more than that Excel file by the time this is done. A 3-or-4D shipping board is going to be necessary, hah! And I like you seven deadly sins hypothesis. We'll have to see where that goes! Anyway, /winter/ is coming, and I'm looking forward to it!

2022-12-21 18:15:30 +0000 UTCWell Kasamatsu being Gaston wouldn't be such a bad thing in that scenario...I did like Gaston more than the Beast in the remake but that's probably more because I love Luke Evans more than Dan Stevens 😆 May have to go in search if there's an Kuroko no Basket/Disney fanart now... But the minute you said Aomine would then be Ushijima I heard him say "You should've come to Touou!" 🤣 But the more I thought of it, they are a bit similar on it. Just Aomine can be an ass to be an ass, whereas Ushijima was much more unaware that what he said was actually on the mean side/could be taken wrongly.

Huckleberry sometimes does not understand how I can find ANTHING other than him interesting! ;) And OH YEAH, I mean, Kise wears a BLUE uniform, with the GOLDEN hair? Does that make Kasamatsu Gaston? Does that mean this is an AU where Gaston wins in the end? Why am I having so much fun with this?! I do think that Kasamatsu and Kise give off HUGE Oikawa x Iwaizumi vibes, though – does that make Aomine Ushijima? :P Kasamatsu’s belief in Kise is so beautiful, though! And yes, it makes me happy I multiship! And Kiyoshi seriously wondering how they beat Kaiji is…hilarious, too! But then, Kuroko did say that the harder Kise is pushed, the better he gets, so maybe that worked to their advantage back then. The shipping this show does, though – and seriously, Aomine LOVES that foul for the free throw! Kuroko’s face where he just stares blankly, but we know there’s stuff under the surface is HILARIOUS – it gets me every time! And are the end cards canon ship proof? I like that theory! Ahhh, that makes sense about the OP and new scenes, too! Good on you crunchyroll, for not letting the skip happen haha! And THAT REF ANIMATION! Some animator was having fun, right?! Sakurai is a precious bean, and I want to protect him everytime I see him on screen! And clearly, the worst place to break up is on the court! I do love that amidst the heartbreak, Kise founds his home on the court with Kaijo! :3 AWWWWW!!! And seriously, that moment at the end cements KasaKi to me for now – I wanted Aomine to help give him a hand, but Kasamatsu had to come in and steal the ship! His moment afterwards also cemented Kasamatsu as such a good character to me! Midorima’s “weakness” being that he is terrible at disguises is hilarious to me. And Kagami in tune with Kuroko makes me so happy! Hahahah, now watch me never pronounce Murasakibara’s name right ever again, hahahaha, but I’ll hopefully keep it up! :P And yes, at the end of each season, I’ll probably go back to that Seven Deadly Sins and talk about which I think are which again and re-visit it! :) This season was SO FUN and I can’t wait for the extra goodies and season 2! Ugh, and yes, it's hard to know EXACTLY what Aomine is thinking, since he says things but then is different when he's with Momoi or by himself -- he puts up a big front and I just want him to let it down and be his old self again. :') BUT, Kasamatsu with the head pats and the help to Kise -- definitely a good bro! ;) And yessssss, so excited for Season 2 as well! It's hard for me to take what Aomine says infront of people as genuine feeling since he says a lot of different stuff to Momoi when they're alone. He's got too much of a front up. The way Kasematsu helped him up though AND gave him all the head pats was so bloody cute lol. I'm excited for season 2 🎉

Just so many things with how they met and their characters. But I laughed so hard at you singing Beauty and the Beast. Kise Belle, and Aomine the Beast? Huge Iwaizumi vibes from Kasamatsu. Both are a little more on the aggressive side, they're both good senpai, and they both have angry-looking eyebrows 🤣 Kiyoshi asking how they managed to beat Kaiji never fails to make me laugh. He's so serious about it too. I love that when Kise was talking about how intense facing off with Aomine was at the beginning of the second quarter, the background is made up of their hair colours. What more proof of our ship do we need? 😂 Aomine *loves* to score after being fouled, doesn't he? He did it against Kagami too. Kagami: My Kuroko senses are tingling Kuroko: *same blank face but internally he's seeing something more than everyone else* Most of the End Cards I take as canon proof all my ships are real. The OP changed for Episode 24 to show the plays from the previous two quarters and I think maybe that's why it wouldn't let you skip. Might have been that there was an extended break between Episode 23 and 24 airing and instead of putting a recap at the beginning of the episode they put some moments to Rimfire. Can I say how much I *love* Kasamatsu's complete and utter belief in Kise? Like he does give our blondie some rough treatment at times, but Kise's their ace and has his trust. In one way it makes me glad I'm a multishipper but in another at times like this it makes it hard on whether I want to ship KasaKi or AoKi more 😂 Poor Kise. 1. He wasn't expecting Kuroko to suddenly be there watching the game. And 2. Nigou on top of his head 🤣 But yes having Nigou there helps it not be a contrivance that Kuroko and Kise meet in this moment. The referee animation is definitely crazy this episode. Maybe it's because there's so many fouls happening? And we're getting nearly all the free throws animated too. Hayakawa for all that he's loud, he is a great rebounder. And quick to pass to his teammate for them to score. I'm the same as you every time I watch this. Even though Aomine is probably my favourite overall, I root for Kaijo but Sakurai's reactions make me feel so sorry for rooting for the other team and not being in his corner. Break-up on the court along with Kuroko looking on as one of his boyfriends (Kise) becomes the other (Aomine) 🤣 That little moment between Kaijo before the beginning of the fourth quarter warms the cockles of the heart. Kise's found his home, and a really good team 🥺😭 You didn't expect to see something similar to Death Note in a sport anime about basketball, now did you? Helps hype up the next play so much. Yep, Aomine's on a wire and then does a whirl mid-air 😂 And *that* moment with Kasamatsu picking Kise up and helping carry him along is why the KasaKi ship wins marginally over the AoKi ship for me. But damn I just want to give him a hug any time I see his tears 🥺 He did *so* well; also the fact that even though they lost he didn't put the blame on his style of playing with his team, rather on his own personal strength and ability. Show just stabbing you in the feels by having Kasamatsu be this wonderful strong captain for his team, and pushing them through the pain of their loss. And then when he's alone, silently breaking down and crying his heart out over the loss. Seeing this contrasting side of him really cemented him as my favourite captain. Just gotta throw in a nice little bit of banter between Midorima and Takao to end off the season (my MidoTaka shipper heart thanks whoever made said decision). Maybe to tease Midorima the Generation of Miracles pretended they couldn't recognise him with the sunglasses on (prior to Kise joining) and this poor boy actually believes it's Loid Forger level disguise 😆 I've always focused on Kuroko that moment after Murasakibara goes past but this time I just noticed: when Kagami realised Kuroko had stopped he immediately started walking backwards almost like he was moonwalking. He's so damn in tune with his boy. Well done on pronouncing Murasakibara's name right on your first go! None of the reactors I've watched for this series have managed that. For remembering it I split it up as Mura-saki-bara and that works for being able to pronounce his name too. And end the season with an alley-oop between Kuroko and Kagami. Also that smile from Kuroko. So precious. Ooh Generation of Miracles as seven deadly sins! 😍 I won't give what my thoughts are on which sin I think each character would be linked to just to potentially stay out of spoiler territory. I black boxed my thoughts in the discord but yeah it was hard because some feel like they really crossover for the characters. The games really are full of hype moments which, unfortunately, after watching them can sometimes leave you feeling as if you've just played a game of basketball yourself. I think it's all in the way they pace the plays and the angles shown. But it can definitely leave you feeling a bit wrung out afterwards.
