This first episode was a lot of fun, very intriguing, and is checking off a lot of boxes:
* Fun Characters? CHECK!
* Mystery and Intrigue, plus some comedy? CHECK!
* Possible BL elements or at least Junichi Suwabe voicing a character? CHECK!
I can't wait to see what's in store with this series! Plus, the character designer is Sadamoto (NGE manga) and the ED is Freddie Mercury...what's not to love?

2022-12-30 23:11:09 +0000 UTCI did go back and re-watch the Dub after this and while the gimmick with the language change is handled better in the dub (I'll talk about it next episode) and the dub is actually really nice, I do like the subs, so I'll stick with them...I just can't pass up Suwabe! :) That's awesome to note about Salazar's VA, though! TAKE-CHANNN! :) And Ushijima! Of Course! Definitely on board for the twists and we can't skip the ED, not with Freddi Mercury crooning to us! Thanks for the comment!

I've watched so many anime simply because of that man π€£ So yes, Laurent is voiced by Junichi Suwabe, and Edamura's seiyuu is Chiaki Kobayashi; as you saw the same VA for SK8's Langa and young Askeladd from Vinland Saga, but also Moriarty the Patriot's Louis. For Laurent's name, because he's French I'm pretty sure the 't' is silent. The fondling of the gear stick and Junichi Suwabe's voice just instantly gives you certain vibes, right? You saying that the reason Junichi is voicing Laurent is because Laurent looks like sex on a stick had me actually crying from laughing so hard π€£π€£π€£ But damn if that's not true. His crooning voice suits those kinds of characters. That nod to DiCaprio had me in stitches. Salazar's seiyuu is another of my favourites: Ryouta Takeuchi. He's voiced Take-chan from Given, Ushijima from Haikyuu!!, and Darui from Naruto: Shippuuden. I love the set-up for this episode. The reveal that the con was on the go from the onset is so cool. Using Freddie Mercury for the ED means I couldn't skip it even once π€£
