Death Note doesn't SEEM like it would be fit for a musical adaptation, until you realize Light Yagami would SO have been a "theater kid!" The singing, acting, and costuming was clever and impressive throughout this production, and now I'm VERY amped to listen to the soundtrack next week!
This SO makes up for the Netflix Adaptation! ^^

I liked the actor playing Light's father -- he "looks" different than the anime (while the actor playing Light looks like a real life version of Light), BUT I loved his acting and his voice is SO good! I'm always scared of live action adaptations of the anime, but maybe later this spring I'll ge ta chance to see the live action Japanese movie for Death Note! Thanks for the comment and vote of confidence for it! :)

I just noticed that the actor of Light's father is the same one who also played this role in the 2006 movie, which reminded me of how well the visual was done in that movie. Adaptation from manga/anime into live-action is always unwelcome, but this movie was one of the rare cases that were successful
