It all makes sense now, why we focused on Rampo and Fukuzawa's backstory at the start of the season! I LOVED this episode, with its twists and turns right off the bat -- and the return of Poe and Karl! YES! Their dynamic with Rampo is one of my favorites!
This episode did not disappoint! Of all the "first episodes after the flashback" we've had in this series, this may be my favorite.

Ranpo's reaction to Poe being a Rich White Man is one of my favourite things. Does kind of explain Poe's audacity to dress the way he does though. And how he has Karl. I am looking forward to this part of the series as a manga reader, because of all the interesting events that will be happening, and I do hope they are handled well. "Rival? That's a funny way of spelling boyfriend" - my first reaction to that line when reading the manga
