Oh, I LOVED this episode! Thorfinn not only gets proven that he physically strives to live a la Snake, but Einar manages to mentally prove to him that life IS worth living because of the sacrifices of those before us!
It's a beautiful episode that gives us SO many parallels, character development, and builds the relationship between these two men pushed to the brink! Lots of fun things to talk about!

Oh yeah, as soon as I saw that hedgehog it was IN MY BRAIN! I hadn't thought of Thorfinn and Rei being similar but there we are. And yesssss, the idea of Thorfinn having a relationship with "another Askeladd," maybe he'll try to learn from HIM this time around? Especially since he doesn't have a thirst for revenge against him? But yes, the choking and crying and this entire episode was pretty darn emotional, but one of my favorites so far! So much potential set up in this episode! Thanks for the comment! :D

Clearly, they need to lighten up a bit. *Bromania Black Peace Sign* I loved the character development in this episode and how it explored the emotional state of Thorfinn and Einar coming to grips with his own issues as well with him -- and Snake. *fans self* He is certainly an INTERESTING character! Glad we have a new snarky mentor figure in this series. It was feeling lonely without Askeladd! Thanks for the comment!

2023-02-01 01:21:23 +0000 UTCthe amount of comments being attacked by the homophobic bros in the crunchyroll comment section was ridiculous smh :/ (they get so pressed when you mention any shipping, even just as a joke) also, I really loved this episode too!!! honestly, if someone watches anime mindlessly and only for action, then they literally just don't know how to enjoy anime as a genre, so that's their loss... anyway. snake is seriously one sexy man hahah

2023-01-31 19:20:42 +0000 UTCI got a bad habit of seeing Eva in everything I watch so I'm glad you're the one bringing it in... The hedgehog, Thorfinn channeling his best Rei impression "I've never said thank you to anyone, not even that man" and the choking, oh my god the choking only interrupted by the crying, I honestly was expecting a 'kimochi warui' after that. Awesome catch about Askeladd and the Snake imagery, I just saw it as a metaphor for how duplicitous and sneaky Askeladd could be but yep, it was actually foreshadowing his link to this guy. It's gonna be interesting what Thorfinn's relationship with 'another Askeladd' will be like.
