This show loves to "set up" moments and then the payoff is exactly what you DON'T expect to happen! I love it! I feel for our boy Atsushi, who is clearly having a lot of PTSD from his time in the orphanage and struggling to move forward from it...
...hopefully, though, seeing that this Agency is well off taking care of any problems should help! And this Port Mafia...I'm starting to see how Dazai might have fit in with them all... ^^

2021-04-05 19:53:25 +0000 UTCI believe Tanizaki siblings relationship is partly based on Tanizaki's story named "Naomi", that's interesting reading as well. Many of the characters have little details pertaining to several literary works from real writers, not only the titular one for their ability. Man, that was a nice journey, discovering all of those. Higuchi's books are little less accessible in English but there are a few, and I'd love to discover her ability one day, but manga hasn't given her one by now. Maybe she discovers it later. Or maybe it's just as well she isn't a gifted after all. Black Lizards is the name of one of Edogawa Rampo novels, BTW!

I'm glad the research is helping with this, too! I'm so excited to see how Dazai's past will get further unraveled as the show goes on. ^^

They are very skilled, but it's mostly not against entire gifted organizations like the agency. I really like the Port Mafia, so I'm glad that you're seeing more of them. I didn't look up the origins of abilities when I was reading the manga, so hearing about all of that is really interesting to me, especially knowing more of the story. Can't wait for the next episode!
