Bungo Stray Dogs: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

LINK TO REACTION: https://streamable.com/pnwktk

I really like Yosano after this episode -- both the actual poet and the character! Her ability is wild and her fight with this mysterious lemon-chucking Port Mafia terrorist was interesting...

...but the real stars of this episode are Atsushi and Kyouka for me! Their dynamic is already so intriguing and I just want to form a protection squad for both of them!

Also, speaking of squads...do we need to start a search and rescue for Dazai? ....Nah, he seems like he has this under control. ;)

Thanks for watching the full length reaction and for the support!

Bungo Stray Dogs: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Hahahaha, right?! I had an old Purple Nokia that was a brick you could use for self-defense! Hahaha! Texting? Nah. Pictures? No way. You called two people and 911 on that sucker! And man, those LG Chocolates were indestructible as well! Haha! I miss phones that were weapons like back then. Yup, now it's not like that at all! XD

So true about cell phones back in the day! Cracked screens? Chipped corners? Pfft. Nonsense! I remember my little LG Chocolate was pretty much indestructible. The screen and casing had it's fair share of scuffs and scratches in the 4 years I had it but it stayed working as well as the day I got it! 3 times I dropped it into a bathtub, once in a shallow river, lost it at a tree farm for 2 days, dropped it while skating, biking, and off of various tables and desks while at school. Did it care? Nope. Thing was a trooper. I miss those days. Now phones are so delicate you have to spend extra money on protective cases as a matter of course.

Ohhh, that preview has me SO HYPED! And Yasano is just awesome! I loved her character in this! And yeahhh, it all makes sense now why everyone is freaked out by her! :D And yeah, I don't quite view Kyouka and Atsushi as romantically involved, but there's a "sibling" quality between them that I really like! The pacing and action this episode was wonderful! Thanks so much -- I hope you have a wonderful day, too!

He's coming next week. XD Yosano is so badass. We need more powerful women like her. Now we understand why no one at the agency wants to get injured. I wouldn't want that either if I would have to get almost killed. XD Kyouka and Atsushi are really adorable. (of course not romantically) I really liked how they switched between the fights in the train. Have a wonderful day!!

Oooh, see, you have me hyped to maybe pick up the manga after getting through all of the seasons, unless there's plan for a season 4? I really like Yosano, especially after this episode, so that has me excited! And Kyouka is so interesting already and her backstory is intriguing - I really want to see more with her and Atsushi. I could TOTALLY get the big brother/little sister vibes with him and her, so that works! And that is SO COOL about each agency member giving Atsushi a clothing item! Awwww! I love that! And THAT PREVIEW IS NOTHING BUT HYPE! So ready!!

Romaniablack

Ooooohhh, Okay, the controlling from the phone being the reason he couldn't negate it makes SO much more sense! Thank you for that explanation, there! And thanks about Motojiro -- his character design fascinates me, so I'll be curious to see where his character goes -- and YES, Atsushi's morality and his developing "code" as an agent is intriguing as well! Definitely looking up these themes and DEFINITELY into that Dazai smirk at the end! He's our real Sherlock Holmes figure, isn't he? :D And ahhhhhh, I'm so happy we're at the turning point and that we're seeing the redhead soon! ^^

Romaniablack

Yes, Yasano's ability was much cooler than I expected and I love her character in this episode! Yes, she was much more "collected" and I like that comparison to Toga! It's so sad that Kyouka has been made to go through all that! :( I just want her to be happy, darn it!

Romaniablack

I saw that preview and fangirled so hard! I'm so ready!

The question of Dazai's ability is complex. Anime makes it look like he activates it on will, even naming it once or twice. Then again, the boy with numbers just wasn't able to take a grasp of Dazai with his ability. Books tell us Dazai's ability is always activated and can't be turned off until his brain stops working. Kyoka was touching his clothes only, she clearly was instructed how to do it but then, what happened next? Did she strike him physically while her ability was distracting him? No answers really. And one of the latest books has his ability extended to his clothes and passed on by clutching his belt, that was really confusing! You've already noticed Atsushi's clothes style resembles Yosano. In manga, it was confirmed that each Agency member donated him an item to wear. Yosano gave him a tie I think. Kyoka's character arc is one of the most interesting to me. Coming from a loved young girl to a soulless weapon to a young adult, learning how to live and to save lives... even more captivating than Atsushi's. And a possible way forward for Akutagawa who clearly failed to instill Mafia views in her and still has to deal with consequences. Also I think she's about 14 or 15, and there's no real shipping in the manga, but, like, little hints? Those can be interpreted as little sister's need for attention or first buds of love but it's sweet and never detailed. She's the first girl to get so close to Atsushi after all, it's natural to kinda call dibs. And Yosano. Oh man, did we have to wait for her backstory in manga. And it was incredible! So sad. So powerful. All the hype for the preview!!

damn ok was not expecting you to catch on quickly to that "dazai's touching her so her power should be negated" because as we learn uh,, kyouka doesn't control her own ability, it's through a voice on the cell phone so there's also nothing to really negate there through touch on her physical person. Though everything about the ability Demon Snow is a little more complicated than that so hang tight for a bit for the lore cause it's given in due time. Atsushi is super interesting as a protagonist throughout all of this because it seems he has a philosophy of his own; if he can be useful for something, saving the passengers for example, he asks himself if that'll be worth allowing himself to live for. If he's been called a "good for nothing" his entire life and told he should "go die in a ditch", of course he's going to have self worth problems. He's not exactly gung ho about death as someone else in his life is, but he looks for ways to justify life. To give a reason to his own living. Granted, we don't know a whole lot of Kaiji Motojiro, and I don't think there's a connection between him and Atsushi that's been proven but that's a theory I've never heard before and an interesting thought so honestly, I just really like how your brain works. Fun fact, the ost slaps. The piece you picked out by noticing is called Eye of the Tiger and it's an apt name for a tune so often used with Atsushi. It's the audience's signature key to know something's going down. It was used most notably in the very first episode when Atsushi first transformed so there's that as well. Apparently it has english lyrics that are interesting to read through. They're not spoilers, just a bop with some intriguing allusions to the tiger. The other bouncy lively track on the train is called Good For Nothing and it's been dubbed a Port Mafia theme, but everyone specifically associates it with our lemon bomber. Dazai smirking at the end tells way too much for something with so little words. And I absolutely love visual cues like that. And finally we catch a preview glimpse of our redhead. You're right. Episode 8 do be the turning point.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT WEEKS!!!!!! As for this episode, I LOVE YOSANO. She’s basically a sadist. She enjoys torturing people because of the conditions of her ability, but unlike Toga from MHA, she found a way to use her ability and control her “vile” impulses for good. She reminds me of Dexter 😅 I think that the bomb strapped to Kyoka was a test of her loyalty. They gave her the control to “stop” the bomb intentionally to test if she was willing to sacrifice herself for the Port Mafia.

So pumped for next ep my favorite red head enters the show lol.
