MDZS-Q: Episodes 1-6 Reaction!

These episodes have been so sweet and wholesome so far, which is EXACTLY what's been needed since the pain train that was the end of Season Two! I can't wait to dive into the rest of these episodes!

I forget from season one that Huasang and WuXian were so close (that is hilarious about the porn being from him! -- reminds me of when Rin discovered Nitori's secret "stash" in Free!). I really am looking forward to getting more with him in the novel! :) I like that the chibi series is a mix of canon and filler -- it's definitely cute so far and I'm really excited to see the "chibi" versions of some of these characters! :D That is exciting! They hung out together a lot β youβll see more of their gatherings in the Untamed β but then the war with Wens came, and they couldnβt be as inseparable as they were at the time of studying in Gusu. In fact, Wuxian and Huaisang were especially close, because of their shared passion for ditching classes, drinking wine and reading porn books (yes, the porn book Wuxian pranked Wangji with in the episode 3 of season one was given to him by Huaisang himself). So, yeah... Wuxian and Huaisang were besties. Think of this chibi series as a mix of OVAs and the novel. There are lots of canon stuff that they put here in order to kinda compensate the lack of cute scenes in the animation. For example, many episodes of the chibi series are devoted to Wen remnants and A-Yuan as well as some minor characters, like Qing, Yanli etc. So, you probably should consider MDZSq a partly canon version of the donghua. 2021-05-31 16:40:22 +0000 UTCOh no! I hate when Vimeo gets slow like that! :( I figured they were exactly like you said -- stories that derive from the canon, expand character interactions, but aren't necessarily canon themselves. So cute though and yogurt sex line? Hmmmm! π€

Q stories are not in book canon and probably can't be considered canon at all, but they totally could have happened. Treat it as fun moments which tell us more about characters but not the story, yes. However, some of them refer vaguely to canon, like the dog story from ep2 - that's in audiodrama. Also, the opening sequence with drinking yoghurt is TOTALLY a reference to canon sex line which has become a running joke ever since XD
