Oh, so THIS is the low key season, you say? THIS is the foundation of the show and when things were SIMPLE?! Dear Lord, what did I sign up for?
This is one of my favorite episodes of season one and the most I've freaked out in the show so far...SO many questions! SO many theories! I could be totally off base with all of them, but please don't spoil me! Holy cow, this is getting insane...

2021-08-14 04:30:05 +0000 UTCSorry if you mentioned it in the review but at the start of the episode the place they left was not Trost but Karanesse which is to the east. You probably already remembered but Trost gate is blocked so they need to go a longer route from the east district.

2021-08-11 16:21:28 +0000 UTCOh, those poor horses -- I feel bad for horses in any war movie, because you know they're going to get hurt and I don't want them tooooo... ...OMG, I did not connect that the hand Jean kissed was the one with the ashes in it?! SHOW, show why would you give us that Marco x Jean content when he's deadddddd? WHY?! Speaking of which, that seems to be the show, eh? I can't imagine! At least Armin is big brain! I can't wait to look back on this season and see what all changed with the theories, etc. Thank you for the kind words and have a great day, too!

I like how Jean kisses his sword/hand because that was the one he holded the ashes in. It's so interesting to see how much little details you see. The first time I've watched it I have seen like half of them. XD Armin big brain as always. "But WHY?" That's the show. XD It's really hard to write about this episode. Wish you a wonderful day!!

I think the discussion post-this episode has been my favorite so far, mainly because of my crack pot theories (and I might have cracked the code -- who knows), but I the main question of "WHY" is such a center of this show to me -- it's the mystery that is hooking me deeper, and I know I'll get answers eventually...but what a rides it's making for! :D :D

Thank you for reminding me of it. The predictions back then were WILD, though i fear sharing some of them would at least tell you what is not true, so i count them as spoilers and thus will refrain from doing so. But consider yourself lucky to experience a glimpse of the insanity of 2013. Damn you Isayama, you are a sick puppy, lol.

I can definitely see how I wasn’t really paying enough attention during S1 as you are picking up on a few things that are quite intriguing and I had originally missed them. I feel like most AOT fans consider S1 to be weaker than the rest (due to a lot of focus on heavy action) but still has quite a few interesting reveals, potential hints or causes for different theories. The Female Titan arc or part of this season is quite exciting so I’m looking forward to the rest of your reactions :)
