But aside from that, this OVA was really touching! Violet has made SO MANY strides since especially Episode 3, and I feel this was a huge step in her moving forward with her ability to feel and become more "human" -- closer to her goal of understanding what it means to "love."

I agree; I JUST watched Episode 5 last night, and I'm glad I watched the OVA first because it made her leap in change so much more fluid! And yes!! That's a great note; she goes from following the crowd's actions to being the one to initiate action! Our girl is growing up and regaining her humanity! I love it! :)

2021-08-26 01:53:27 +0000 UTCI swear I have an emotional Pavlovian response to the ED, watching with you is I think my 3rd time through the series, and at this point I associate that song so strongly with getting hit right in The Feels that hearing it makes me tear up. XD I wish I had known when to watch the OVA when I first watched the show - I really like it, but coming to it after the end of the series when Violet changes so much from ep 4 on made it feel out of place, so I'm glad you got that advice. I love the parallel between the beginning when Violet joins the standing ovation because she's mimicking the crowd around her and the end when she's the first to stand, because she actually understands and resonates with the emotions Ilma's putting into her performance.
