After two seasons of the casual subtext and them avoiding back and forth, to see Wangji so openly expressing his affection and WuXian so casually and openly flirting? You love to see it! My heart wants more, but isn't sure if it can handle it!

Oh wow!! No, I did NOT realize that WuXian meant that! That makes so much sense...Wangji is a sugar daddy, ahahahaha!! And ahhh, I can't wait to read this scene in the book, but you're right; this was JUST what Lan Zhan could have wanted...and it's so sweet, "going back to Gusu" has a whole new meaning now...I'm sure WuXian would revel at the chance to break rules again, though. And give Qiren more white hairs. XD Ning watching after the kids is SO adorable, and also so sad, when you consider he's the one that killed Ling's father. :( Oh, I'm glad that his new body is okay and it was just the smoke! *wipes brow* Whew! And ahhhh, Episode Five is....WONDERFUL! I can't wait for next week, too! ^^

And the one with money is definitely Lan Zhan XDD MY SURNAME IS LAN AHAHAHA The whole new trove of fantasies for Lan Zhan! The book does it so more subtly, here we just SEE how the idea forms in his head! Wen Ning looking after the juniors, ah. Of course they need protection and looking after, after all that cat corpse story. "Going back to Gusu", uhhh? Back then Wei Ying still thought it meant his wish to chain and "clear" him. He still doesn't understand it fully now but AGREES. Even though Gusu has 4000 rules and no fun. All the gifts, also. That liddol feather bouquet from Q! It's totally one canon, oh yeah. Wei Ying coughing was definitely from the smoke. In other novels there could be a storyline of his new body slowly failing but Moxiang sad NAH NONE OF THAT ANGST HERE. And that fourth disciple is Ouyang Zizhen, he's easy to forget but I love his romantic heart. The torso sewn onto the corpse was also "Good Brother"'s, as was the arm. So, they have one arm, legs, other arm and the torso now! I think the subtitles omitted that but yeah, it's almost a full package. That gentle push! go away my wei ying mine miiine all his fingers are mine. Can't wait to see your reaction to ep5 as do my fellow fans XD

You're right -- it completely conveys all those emotions without having to say a word or do anything explicit. I just love it! I've wanted to see an emotional side of Wangji for two seasons and we're finally getting it! You can soooooo tell the influence of a changed Wangji in his teachings to the Lan disciples and how different they are from Qiren's days! And those commercials are WONDERFUL! I will never turn down a Cornetto ad! ahahahaha! I think your description of the seasons is pretty spot on! I've heard The Untamed changed the ending, which will be something I watch for, but at the same time, I think considering they've kept so much of the novel in this, that hopefully it ends similarly...I'm still so hyped to read the novel and listen to the audio drama, though! I feel the novel had given me a way to "read" him, but now I'm no so sure! **mystery intensifies** And that's so funny -- oh, yes, SO MUCH fangirling this episode...and the next one, too! I was so elated with what they gave us, and that chase scene! Cutting back and forth from their past to present; knowing the pain they went through in the past and seeing them being able to be happy together in the present with one another?! *SWOON* It's hard knowing that everything is packed into only 12 episodes, but makes me happy to know there's still the audio drama, novel, and manhua to expand upon...it's definitely getting me hyped for it!

2021-08-30 18:05:31 +0000 UTCWhile watching this episode one of my most common thoughts was "Man, Romania is going to DIE fangirling...can't wait to see her reaction"😂 I also am waiting until I finish the donghua to read the novel so to me the pacing at times seems a little quick but not in a bad way, more like you said, shoving a ton of content into 12 episodes and that's fine with me! This show as a whole feels like it never wastes time and that's one of the things that I love about it. The rooftop chase got me teary eyed, just the music and the memories and knowing everything that happened between them since then and what those boys went through, it's so happy and bittersweet at the same time! And yes, I think that is definitely Huaisang at the end there! Unless it a giant misdirect, but you can see the outline of his shoulders and his hair, plus the turtle that popped out of the water is Nie colored! The markings on the shell look like the same ones Huaisang wears on his robes, I thought that must have been deliberate by the animators since they drew attention to it!

You can see their romantic feelings for each other even without explicit content, so I completely agree with you on that point. I’m living for the fact that it’s time for Wangji’s side of the story — all of the emotions he shows just speaks volumes. I’m so glad that Wuxian now openly acknowledges Wangji’s changes! Jingyi, being the one, who speaks the bare truth without any sugar-coating, and Suzhui, following Wangji’s guidance by staying impartial and not judging a book by its cover, are the presidents of the Lan Wangji’s fanclub. I love the Lan ducklings so much. It’s such a great shift from the times of Wuxian and Wangji’s youth. It struck me this episode just how much the Lan clan’s teachings have changed throughout the years, and how Lan Zhan didn’t suppress the Lan babies like Qiren did, and instead gave them more freedom of choice and opinion! I once came across an official commercial that kinda recreated the scene on a rooftop. I nearly cried while watching it, you know. (here’s the link: https://youtu.be/F-lvKeMvESQ) The animators didn’t put it in the second season, just published it on the Internet, so I was hoping to get something similar in the third season. And now all I have to say is that it was definitely worth the wait!😭 From my point of view, the third season is a little bit more steady in terms of emotions and action. The first one is mostly about love-hate dynamics between Wangji and Wuxian, seasoned with “War” angst; the second season is about setting up all the intrigues we’ve encountered so far for the future episodes; and then there’s the third one: a climax of the past two — the growth of Wangji’s character, his relationships with Wuxian, mixed with uncovering the mysteries from both first and second season. Judging by the stuff the donghua team hinted at or showed to us in these 4/5 episodes, there will be a decent resolution for sure. Hopefully, they’ll stick to the original ending and won’t change anything like the “Untamed”. Fingers crossed. Thank you for reaction.

2021-08-30 15:26:09 +0000 UTCHAHA I THOUGHT THAT THE WANGXIAN MOMENTS IN THIS EPISODE WERE MEALS, but next episode is a whole damn BUFFET ✨ and I’m genuinely shocked that they included so much considering the past censorship?? I am so damn happy and satisfied with this season as a novel reader- I honestly really can’t wait to see how they’re going to play out the last arc. MDZS has killed me once again with the amazing animation and storytelling. We are getting near the end which makes me sad but more excited than anything for all the final reveals. Drunk Wanji is literally best boy! Going to enjoy the happy moments we’re getting right now because I have a feeling it’s going to get angsty again soon??
