Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 6 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

I've wanted backstory on Yao since season 2, and we're FINALLY getting it...and OH, do we get it! Not only do we get so much insight into Yao and his complex character, but I need to breathe for a moment, because PAPERMAN WUXIAN! I just...my heart can't take the cuteness coupled with the horror and complexities...MDZS will be the death of me.

Still so many questions left to be answered, but this season has been literally PERFECT in this first half, and I CANNOT wait to see what's in store for the second half!

Thank you for watching with me and for the support!

Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 6 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Oooh, I'm glad your comment showed up! Yao is sooooo cat-like, but he also reminds me of a velociraptor ("Clever Girl..."); you can't take your eyes off him...or he'll probably kill you, eh? It's the worst combo, eh? Yao isn't afraid to play dirty, like you said, and do ANYTHING to win. Mingjue is righteous to a fault in how he wants to fight "honorably," and XiChen is just trying to keep the peace between all of them. That "conversation" you listed is them to a "T!" Seriously, though; XiChen...you couldn't have picked a more complicated boy to love, could you have? And yes, that would be an AMAZING painting of the three of them. DO itttt and send me a copy! ^^

My comment was either deleted into the void or I didn't actually post it. Sorry if you end up getting two notifications for it or something. Yao is my second favorite character in MDZS. With my first being Xue Yang, it's not too hard to see what my criteria for a character are haha. I agree with you about Yao and Wangji's eyes. Yao looks kind of like a snake or a cat accessing prey most of the time. I also think that at that moment he may not have even cared if she believed him or not idk really. Ah yes the good ol 3zun. I-hmm. When i first saw them i was like "ship". Now that I know what I know I'm like ..."..ship?" very confused on what to do with my once fav OT3. Oh, the struggles. Could've been an enemy/bestie to lovers but nooo. I think Yao did like Xichen (who is blinded by rose-tinted sight) and Mingjue (elder nie lmao) but he was blinded by the power and approval of his father (why can't we have nice things huh?). That and Yao and Mingjue clearly have different ideas on what to do strategically. I think because of Yao's upbringing he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, while Mingjue clearly has a certen way he prefers to do things. (and Xichen see's the best in everyone, poor boy) a senerio I thought was nice Yao:*kills someone cause he can* Mingjue: "Don't do that!" Yao:*Confused noises* "??" Xichen:"I'm sure it was self-defense <3" Yeahh Xichen protects this boy and it's sad to me. Lan's love with fierceness it seems. I could write an entire essay on the dynamics of these boys and how they interact with each other. The three of them drinking the cups? I want a painting of that. Or ill draw it myself.

Thank you so much for the kind words! This episode and next week's episode are just ROLLER COASTERS, eh? That makes a lot of sense about the letter...it's sad that Daddy Jin wouldn't acknowledge Yao at least a LITTLE. I mean...he's your son, dude. And that makes sense about the plan -- I wondered if it was something like you suggested, because yeah, Mingjue seems to be really self-righteous and straightforward in his strategies. That also makes sense about Yao firing that energy at him and I DID NOT NOTICE the ninja rescuing Nie was Yao!!! @.@ Oh wow....that's crazy! I can't wait to see this all expanded further in the novel! :D Thanks for all the info and comment!

I really enjoyed your reaction! Thank you Romania. A few points of clarification, and hopefully they are no spoilers involved. My understanding of the recommendation letter part is that Yao did take Nie brother's letter to the Jin clan, but Daddy Jin was still hesitant whether to acknowledge him or not. But Daddy Jin apparently didn't want Nie brother to think that he did not take his recommendation letter seriously, so he simply lied that he hadn't seen that. The truth is probably that Yao was not acknowledged as his son but sent to a lowly position in the Jin clan. That's when Yao's superior stole his plan and presented to the leaders, trying to take the credits away from Yao. Yao's strategy was likely morally dubious, something like to have someone pretending to defect to Wen's army and earn his trust. But this kind of strategy will sound unbearable to someone like Nie brother who is very self-righteous and detests schemes and intrigues. Regarding that scene about channeling spiritual energy. Yao didn't channel it back to Nie. Nie thought Yao was injured, so he tried to channel energy to him to cure him. And Yao took the opportunity to attack Nie so as to temporarily paralyze him and have the chance to escape, because he couldn't risk losing trust in his father. After this, I think Yao decided to infiltrate into Wen's gang and earned Wen Ruohan's trust. Also, the ninja that saved Nie brother from Wen's prison is Yao. I think Yao was trying to save Nie Mingjue's life by forcing him to kowtow to Wen Ruohan. If Nie cursed or insulted Wen Ruohan further, Ruohan might just kill him on the spot.

The paper kiss and Wuxian crawling across Wangji's forehead ribbon?! Oh, how times have changed. I could NOT contain my fangirling this episode. And that ad! I have missed the Cornetto ads, so this one was SO welcome! And yesss, Yao creepiness indeed! I love the lighting they use when he's in the room -- the yellow tones and shadows add to the villainy and overall dread atmosphere. Ahh, that's interesting to note about the "gossip" and how it could have portrayed Yao's past from the start. It will be interesting to see this in the novel and OOOHHHH, I cannot tell you all how hyped I am for the novel/audio drama. CANNOT WAIT. Lan's only love once...damn...yeah, XiChen...you chose....poorly? I feel for him already! And man, people named Song in this show are not long for this world, eh? @_@ Hmmm....that leads me to think maybe HuaiSang is stringing Su She along to work for him as well? Too many actors. Too much mystery. I just want WangXian cuddles and forget all the heavy stuff, haha!! :D Just kidding; I'm REALLY excited for the second half of this show!

Seriously! Yao is just...I get that he's had a bad past and feels like a victim (and is to an extent), but that's...not...an...excuse to do all of these things! Episode 7 gave even more insight to his character, so there's that, too. I just...want to shake his shoulders, haha!

Romaniablack

I haven't read the whole novel yet, but at this point Yao is my most disliked character. Constantly pretending to be a righteous victim and using his mother as an excuse is despicable.

Paper Wei Ying the cutest Wei Ying! And the paper kiss, of course. And headband touching. The integrated ad was also hilarious. They are growing on me. Just a bit of softness before we get into all the JGY creepiness and tragedy. I kind of didn't like how they held off the info of his ancestry for 2.5 seasons. Okay, there were hints, but wouldn't it look more powerful if some people gossiped of his prostitute mother since s1? Viewers would forget ofc, but that can be a running theme to make parallels of all those evil tongues wagging about WWX and JGY as well. They truly don't care how heavy is the guilt, you're always not enough for someone. Yup, JGY's son was named Jin Rusong, or A-Song. Ahaha, WWX totally needed some revelations of his past through someone else's eyes. Definitely can't wait to see your reaction to the novel/manhua version of that flashback. Oh yes, Lan brothers and their wish to prove both their baes correct and good. 'Lans only love once', probably, and Wangji just had better taste in men! Hmm, I think Su She is not the only one to employ ninjas? Those who snatched fake array description from Wei Ying, didn't lead him to Yao.

Paperman WuXian ended me -- I have a soft spot for tiny, chibi cute things and WuXian was DOING it for me in this episode. Ahhh, I went back and re-watched Episode 9...man, it'd been a WHILE! HuaiSang (sort of) defending Su She from Cheng and ZiXuan...so maybe he has something against the Jin clan? But he also shot WuXian in the arm...so...????? Su She baffles me and I need more info! Haha, I guess we'll get it all eventually, eh? And OOOOHHHH -- **mystery romance intensifies** I'm assuming this is from HOB, but I'm soooo intrigued! Way to get me hyped! :D

Romaniablack

WOW, Whoa, your so fangirling over paper Wei Wuxian!! Yes, he is so adorable. My question to you to ponder what does Su She have to gain by working with Nie Huaisang? Why would he work with Nie Huaisang? Who does Su She have "ill" feelings for (think back to season 1 and the cave)? Romania: "Oh, Lan Wangji has ruined other men." MXTX Fans: "Just hold my beer Romania, you have still have not met THE MAN. The Man who created LOVE." MXTX really has made it hard for real life men, she's set such high standards.
