Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 7 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*HEADPHONE WARNING*

Show, how DARE you leave us on that cliffhanger! Seriously, though, everything is coming to a head: the cat's out of the bag with WuXian, Yao's manipulation knows no bounds, and my heart goes out to Wangji, Chang, and poor baby Ling! Oh, and WuXian! It's just a flesh wound, though...right? RIGHT?!

Thanks for watching my descent into madness, and for the support!

Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 7 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

It's SO sad to see Yao take XiChen's gift and twist it -- I can't wait to see the other versions of this, too! Yeah, I'm all here for that happy AU! Regardless of whether he heard him or not, it seems clear now that XiChen was willing to turn a blind eye for Yao, because he didn't want to believe he could be anything but the man he fell in love with...it's so sad! Yeah, the Lan's pick some interesting partners...spoilers for episode 8, but it might be genetic? :P And yeah, Yao's actions are spurned a large part by his relationship with Daddy Jin, for sure. HA! XiChen is the epitome of panic and calm, eh? And oooohhhh, so ready for next week! Yeah, Yao, yer not subtle about the corpse...amazingly, everyone believes him, though. >.< Thanks for the comment!!

As always this hurts :(. And ahh they played my favorite scene, I figured they would but I wanted to make sure they did it justice. The Song of Clarity scenes (no matter the adaptation) always hit different I swear. Yao taking something Xichen taught him in good faith and twisting it...just hurts in a way idk. On another note, did Yao never play his version in Xichen's presence? I suspect not, but if he did I'm sure Xixchen subconsciously was like "yep, nothing wrong with this at all." AU where instead of going to the Jin clan Yao is taken in by the Nie (and stays there) or Lan clan and everyone lives happily ever after the end. Xichen hearing Yao mm idk. Yes he said he killed people but idk if that was something Xichen found he needed to read into. He knew that already, but he has also killed people along with elder Nie brother. It could be that or what you said as well. So in love with Yao that he chooses to turn a blind eye and well we see where that lead us. You saying that Xichen/Yao is like Wangji/WWX is so true!! Lan's pick the most uh..interesting partners. The way Xichen defended him with a ferocious even though he knew he might have been bad all along? pain :). This episode was great and You feel bad for all the characters involved (even Yao for me at least). Some part of me thinks that yeah, he might have done a lot of what he did because of Daddy Jin, but a part of Mingjue just doesn't understand that. Xichen scenario: *You get a crush on a guy* Calm *That guy might be bad and he's married* Panik *His wife dies* Calm *Still maybe bad and shit's going down* Panik Pain next week? Absolutely <3!! And yeah Yao this episode was basically "Oh no Mingjue's corpse is around? That sucks..anyway so he's definitely wwx!"

I'm SO excited to get into the novel and audio drama and see what changes from the donghua! It's SO sad what happened to Mingjue, especially with your comment! @_@ And I hadn't even realized it, but you're right -- if Yao hadn't been manipulating him, he probably would have been more lenient, even caring about HuaiSang's hobbies. :( I definitely felt bad for HuaiSang and reading the novel chapters up until season 3 started definitely gave me more appreciation for him! Chengggggg...omg....That moment he let WuXian go with Wangji, and YES! I saw his stance at the end as protective, too! Like, "Come at me, Yao!" Of course, no one believes Cheng, but Yao says it once and everyone's on board. @_@ The Twin Prides -- don't spoil me, but I'm really interested in what happened right after that moment. Maybe we'll find out in the donghua, maybe in the novel? Either way, an epic moment! Thanks for the kind words and comment! I'm REALLY getting hyped about HOB! I definitely want to take the time to get through MDZS, but I'm excited to get to MXTX's other works as well! :) That would be great if by the time I got through season 1 of HOB, season 2 would start! :D We shall see!

Yeahhhh, HuaiSang isn't off the hook with me, but him passing out will have to do for now. I NEED to see Cheng vs. the Jin's post them running away! Don't spoil me, but I hope we see it! Or at least get something in the novel/audio drama with it, because Cheng defending his brother?! Ahhhh...I need it! And the cat's out of the bag! @_@ I just....I wasn't ready for how intense this episode got, and we still have half a season left!

What’s more heart-breaking about this episode is that it reveals the regrets of both Nie brothers about Mingjue’s qi deviation. The qi deviation scene in the donghua is different from in the novel, but I think they’re both equally impactful. Not only did Nie Mingjue, probably in his last moments, realize that Jin Guangyao manipulated the Song of Clarity, but he also has to hold onto the fact that he was forced to attack Nie Huaisang. Because even though he was harsh in his methods, Nie Mingjue truly did care deeply about his brother in his own way (the scene in this ep where Mingjue just allowed Huaisang to paint his fans beside him broke my heart bc it shows that, before Yao messed with the saber spirit, Mingjue probably didn’t really mind Huaisang’s hobbies as much). And it’s so sad for Nie Huaisang too because, imagine how long he must have believed that he was the one who caused his brother to deviate and die that day. That must have been such a heavy guilt to bear. Nie Huaisang is probably my favorite character of the whole series, and I’m so glad the donghua gave me so much of him this episode. When Mingjue was chasing Huaisang around to train and he hid behind Yao, and all three of them were just joking around with each other made me want to BAWL - they actually seemed to genuinely like each other and enjoy each other's company And Jiang Cheng at the end had me SCREAMING - even before he let them go, if you look at that whole scene of when Yao is revealing Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng is just in the back crossing his arm over his chest casually with a face that said: “Whaaat that’s Wei Wuxian? Pfft, I had no idea. It’s not like I was TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT IT AND NO ONE BELIEVED ME” And that’s just so funny to me because literally everyone called him crazy and delusional, but then one word from Yao and everyone insta-believed him. Jiang Cheng must be quaking in anger XD On a more serious note, Jiang Cheng just letting them pass. I saw on Twitter when the episode came out, that someone pointed out if you look at Jiang Cheng’s stance, it changes from before they pass him and after they pass him. Like he’s standing normally before they pass him, but after, his legs are farther apart in a more protective stance like ‘if you want to get them, you got to get through me first’ type of way. And that just makes the Twin Prides of Yunmeng feels hit so hard T_T I can’t wait to see your reaction of next episode. It’s going to explain a few things about certain characters and their behaviors (but I won’t specify in case of spoilers). Glad you’re enjoying the series, and I also am looking forward to when you get to Heaven Official’s Blessing because - oh boy, are you in for another ride. Both series have their own unique appeal, so I’m excited to see how you will react to it. Maybe, by the time you get to it, season 2 will already be starting.

Jin Ling's temper (and gullibility) are definitely inherited from Jiang... or probably Yu clan. Welp, there is no lower bottom for Yiling Laozu now, it can only get better, right? Right?.. Jiang Cheng really did let them go! And he tried to protect Wuxian in front of Jins, he did. It was just no good, coming from him. Too easy for a mob to pick a target they feared and envied and eliminate it. That flawless acting. Huaisang has an easier role than Yao, I think XD
