Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

The Rule of Episode 8 has never let me down, and this is no exception! Our chaotic gremlin FINALLY puts two and two together and his reaction is PRICELESS!

Wangji continues to shatter #partnergoals while being the most precious ever, but MAN, do I feel bad for his brother. Poor XiChen...the Lan men fall fast and HARD, and while Wangji landed our best boi, WuXian, XiChen's clear love and care for Yao...is a bit more complicated. I just want to give our man XiChen the biggest hug!

Still several episodes to go -- some questions answered, but the build the climax is starting!
Thank you for watching with me and for the support!

Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 3: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I love that Wangji is willing to forego the Lan Clan rules to be with the man he loves -- YES, like father like son, indeed! And who can blame him, after losing his mother and thinking he lost the love of his life, for him to return and give Wangji a second chance to court him? I'm glad you liked the penguin analogy, haha! Ugggghhh, I cannot wait to get into the novel, audio drama, and The Untamed to get more gaps filled in and the story expanded upon! I am so hyped! Yeah, I wish we'd learn more about his family -- we really don't get much with them, but other stories follow suit; I appreciate that the author leaves it somewhat open to audience interpretation; that's always fun. With the way gossip and unreliable narrators work in this story, there really may be no way to truly know. The point of how it's impacted Wangi and his decisions is definitely there, though. I like the symbolism of the peony and that there may be other symbolic meaning as well. Even without the symbolism, many people (myself included) dry flowers in the favorite pages of books, so even if you didn't know its meaning, one could infer that Wangji loved that specific page, and chose to "bookmark" it. :3 And I hadn't even THOUGHT about the waiting until dawn to come to the cloud recesses bit! Oooooh..the question is....did XiChen wait outside at night to let Yao in...or was it Su She? Hmmm....suspicious, suspicious. And I feel so badly for XiChen....with any other person, this would be a love story like that with WuXian and Wangji...but his love's with Yao. Yikes. And yeah, XiChen is a good man...I just hope he gets the truth and ends up okay with it. :3

Uggghhhh, that novel tease! I honestly am SO excited to get back into the novel and audio drama once the season is concluded! These Lans are LOYAL, indeed. I felt so bad for Wangji waiting in the rain for his mother, and then for years for WuXian...thankfully, his waiting paid off and Wangji -- seems -- be getting a happy ending. :3 I hate it for XiChen, though! Our boy has it BAD for Yao, who is just clearly not a trustworthy person -- the symbolism used in this episode was SO good! And the idea that our Lan bros express their emotions through music? Both for the "WangXian" theme and XiChen playing to express his sorrow? *chef's kiss*

Laughed out loud at the penguins remark XD Just imagine that white and black scheme, oh yeah. And, considering their tendency to form same-sex pairs and steal eggs to raise as their own... well said, well said! Wangji got imprinted very hard with family history, and it's a very good story turn that he was the one to break the vicious cycle. He didn't take Yiling Patriarch as his against his will, no matter his own wish to protecc. He is ready to let go of family rules and rethink his whole life foundations over the memory of one dead man. And I don't think he ever viewed his love as a sin, not after the teen years. Qiren was totally scared of him repeating his father's mistake, but was Wangji really the one who actually did repeat them? Yep, you got it right, "Go away" is a flashback. Can you theorize when that could happen? Donghua team constantly makes Wangji stay closer, watch whatever Wei Ying sees now, and stand for him more often than in the novel. The Untamed does the same in several scenes, slightly filling the emotional gaps MXTX had intentionally left wide open. Not enough to heal all the pain or erase the catharsis, just a few little bits to appease our hearts. It's interesting that we never find out what actually happened in Wangji's mother story. Did she love his father? Probably, two children are not the one stilted marriage would have demanded. Did she really kill his teacher or there was some uglier truth? Did she really die or... Probably noone alive knows the truth anymore, even Qiren. It's a mystery to be interpreted however every character wants. That peony is a bit of a question for me right now! It means one of two meaningful scenes can still come in future episodes, and which will it be? Ahh IDK! As for flower language, that type of peony can mean "fondness before a parting", like a question: i like you but i need to go, will you wait for me? Jin clan peonies are a different kind of flower, mind you. Yao coming alone to Cloud Recesses after dark... Hmm, did you use to do it often, honey? I mean, the rules clearly say you can't enter before the dawn! Or did Xichen come out to meet and greet you? Xichen is probably kinda underrated in the fandom thanks to his unwillingness to blame Yao blindly. Yes, he turned a blind eye for a while and didn't succumb to blaming him easily but that also shows he is not the type to judge anyone else. He's very calm for a clan leader who has Yiling Patriarch on the grounds! No accusations, no questions, only the gentle nudges, you'd imagine he would be more salty to Wuxian but NO. He's a good man. He's ready to change his views if proof arises.

"When others praised me, you scolded me. When others hated me, you spoke for me. In the end, you were the one who stood by my side." - Wei Wu Xian (Novel) These Lan sect members fall hard but they are loyal. LWJ waiting for his mother was just a precursor to his waiting for WWX all those years. The boy does have faith in those he loves that they are good. Yao in and out of the shadows, that scene when he showed up was perfect. Showing how he cannot be trusted. I actually commented on how beautiful the lighting was o him. The moment after Xichen finished talking to Wei Ying and started playing, felt like he started to play in order to let his emotions out. He did not want to cry but he could express himself through the music.
