Attack on Titan Season 2: Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Oh no worries! You're never too late to comment! This was an AMAZING season finale! I loved this -- and yeah, the show feels SO different going into season 3 than it did starting season 2! I can't imagine stopping NOW when you know there are still two seasons to go...I feel it just started fully picking up steam; glad I took the red pill, too! ;)

Amazing end to an amazing season! Feels like a whole different show now going into season 3 right? Glad to see my fav character Levi again. So excited to go forward. Slow to comment here, just started watching the recap. I don’t understand the people who drop AOT after season 2. So glad you took the red pill!

Seriously, I had missed Armin and Jean together, but this episode reminded me how great they are together; Jean is our king! I loved him in this episode! And Erwin...I cannot imagine the pain of having to sit there while your friends died around you...nothing but respect for our Survey Corps commander! There were a lot of painful moments this episode -- including Ymir leaving Historia and of course Eren's desperation and loss with Hannes's death. I watched that clip and OMG! They are just sooooo good as voice actors (Mikasa's VA is also soooo pretty!) -- I was that man standing up at the end giving them a standing ovation! This episode was soooo great; and then yeah, why NOT reveal there's a man in the Beast Titan at the end? Might as well. :P Thank you for the kind words and comment! I hope you have a wonderful day, too!

This rewatch really made me appreciate Armin's and Jean's friendship. Everytime Jean is in a situation where he could get killed I'm so worried about him. This episode shows how much the scouts respect Erwin. Sacrificing themselfs so he could live. And how Erwin sits/stands there only able to watch his comrades die. Painful. Ymir leaving and letting Historia go was just really sad. We haven't seen much of Jean this season but he was killing it with the things he said. I completely forgot that this was the episode were Erwin started smiling like that. It gives me chills. The show just randomly revealing the person inside of the beast titan. Why not. XD Kaji did such an amazing job. The pain and the desperation in his voice. They once did a live voice acting for this scene in a show, which I always find so interesting to watch. So if you're interested in it here is the link. https://youtu.be/f-JOj5WJeKI I didn't know AoT had character songs, I'm really excited to hear them. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Thanks! I REALLY like Eren, Jean, and Bertholdt/Reiner's, but they're all good! :)

Romaniablack

Ahh, I can't wait to see your reaction to the Character Songs.

Jason T Frye

Ahhhh, thank you SO MUCH! I am **hyped** to say the least! ^^

Romaniablack

Enjoy season 3! You will love it.

Bahahaaha -- I'll definitely ask about the Beast Titan and the glasses in Episode 1 of Season 3, but seriously...Beast Titan be RIPPED! @.@ And it's Adam's VA from SK8/Dio's VA from JoJo's...so....all the better, right? :D

Romaniablack

That scene was SO BEAUTIFUL! They made Eren look SO SOFT and Mikasa as well...it's gorgeous, but like you said, cruel given the moment they're in that moment. I am not sure I ship Mikasa and Eren 100% yet, but you can't deny the love (be it romantic, familial, platonic) between them in that moment! And yessss, Eren goes 120% in protecting people and his ideals, so of course, RAB betraying that trust just made him turn on them completely (even though at first he hesitated with Annie because he was so shocked). I definitely get it!

Romaniablack

Ohhhh, yes. Yep, yep, yep...I've already recorded the Recap, but your thoughts here sort of resonate in that video and I'll definitely talk about this with Episode 1 of Season 3. Thanks for vocalizing that! Lots to think about with Eren and his newfound "ability." ^^

Romaniablack

YES!! That got me so much! Erwin often leaves behind his emotions or represses them for the sake of the mission, so him seeing his own men sacrificing themselves on his behalf? *clutches chest* How can you not respect Erwin after Episode 11?

Romaniablack

YES, that is a really good point to note -- Eren has a strong desire to protect others and "be the hero," and the fate of the Levi Squad was a horrible reminder of...like Hannes said (dang it) he wasn't strong enough to protect them. I really wonder how that battle would have gone if he'd turned into a titan immediately back in Episode 19 -- knowing how much in control Annie was in Episode 21...I guess we can speculate; maybe he would have one, maybe not... #noregrets, right? But you bring up a great point!

In a 36-48 hr period.... -Ragako Village gets turned into Titans -Three other 104th soldiers confirmed to be Titans, two of them confirmed enemy infiltrators, and the third eventually joins them -Joint op with Military Police and Garrison results in overwhelming casualties, Scouts loses more than half their veterans -Erwin loses right arm, can no longer pleasure himself properly -Finds out that Titans are really people "jUsT AnOtHeR dAy fOr tHe sUrVeY cOrPs!!!! .... Heheheheheheheheheheh" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ€£

Nathan Hardy

It definitely shows how much the Scouts respect Erwin when they don't listen to his command to retreat and instead sacrifice themselves so he could live.

Eren, really, scares me. and not only in the way of how focused he's killing on all the titans and stuff, 'cuz that's really scary too, BUT it's the idea that now he has a power to control titans it scares me. A lot. And it's good for humanity's side, that they have more power now. but it's the idea in it. Eren has now the power to lead the titans. And isn't that scary? Have the ability to lead your enemies? the same ones you want to kill? For Erens side, it's a dream come true. But to me as a person that immediately tends to relate to the ones that follow orders and are being led by another. it's fucking scary. The idea, that: your leader is your biggest enemy, and that in the end, you have nothing you can do. All you can hope for is to die painlessly. I probably shouldn't be thinking this so much from the titans' side of things, 'cuz in the end they have eaten and killed people and they're the enemy. But I still feel so damn bad for them. I have never written these thoughts downs so... this comment is probably very messy, but I believe I got my point through. :)

Ah yes, that's a wrap on Season That's Was A Hell Of A Two Days. After this season I remember jumping straight on the manga, so season 3 has a very special place in my memory, what with all the drama. It's still crazy that the end of season 1 was happening less than 48 hours before the end of season 2. The Smiling Titan still gives me chills, especially in retrospect. And the first sighting of Monke Man, who I will always call Monke Man, no matter what. Also one thing a friend of mine pointed out back when we first watched this season was "Jean and Armin almost make an Erwin". Jean was definantly hot-headed, but has the qualities of a leader, and even in the Battle of Trost made the unfortunate choice to make sacrifices of the soldiers that had basically come under his command. But with Armin as the brains (and the fast thinker that he is), with how cold and methoidcal he can be in manipulation, they are near unstoppable. And when you remember that they were both close to Marco, who was arguably the most compationate, you can see the kind of team we missed out on. We only got them all together for the Battle of Trost, really. This will hurt more later :)

Finally here! The Mikasa-Eren scene is my favorite scene in the series. There’s something so cruel yet beautiful about that scene as time slows, showing the carnage and chaos, and there is no one but the two of them in that moment. I wasn’t even as Mikasa-Eren Shipper! I think that Eren is compassionate to the people he cares about to the point of doing anything to protect them. And when he is betrayed by Annie, Reiner and Bertholt, he can’t help but to direct the same relentlessness he showed his friends to his enemies to kill them.

Imagine all the questions Romania is thinking right now at the final scene. "Who is the Harambe Titan? Does he wear his glasses in Titan form? What does he do for ab workouts!?!?!?!?!?!" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ€£

Nathan Hardy

I think Eren is reluctant to listen to others after the 57th expedition. He saw many soldiers dying to protect him. With his Hero complex it's doesn't sit right others are dying to protect him. Also if he went with his instinct and turned into a titan when Levi and his squad were there they would have taken out the Female titan.
