I had NO clue what to expect with this season premiere, but a western-style murder mystery thriller with intrigue, politics, and we're ALREADY getting Levi backstory, apparently?! This was not where I thought this show was headed, but OKAY, I'M GAME!
Kenny is threatening, King Fritz is ominous, and just when you think this show is complicated enough...another layer of complexity is added! Should I have expected any less, though?

Yesss, this episode was nothing like what I'd expect, but I love it for it! Seeing Eren around his friends definitely shows the best side of him. :) Thank you for that clarification with the manga! I can't wait to see that in the actual manga when I get to it! And yessss, Historia is a much better character, now! That whole scene with Armin and Jean -- I felt for them both; especially Armin, though. And Nifa! RIP, girl. Seriously....but that Kenny reveal. @_@ This episode was insanity, but I loved it! 2021-10-26 17:36:14 +0000 UTCI love the different vibe this episode gives off. Seeing Eren around his friends makes me appreciate him more. If I remember correctly in the manga they already did a few transformations and experiments with Eren before it turned out like this. I really liked that conversation between Eren and Historia, something's I didn't know I needed. Also Eren just casually explained why I didn't liked Historia when she was still Christa. I kinda have a little thing for the Moblit/Hanji ship. I couldn't see it happening but it's cute. I felt so bad for Armin. You could see that Jean wanted to help him but couldn't. Nifa had such a nice design. This show really gives us cool looking female characters to just kill them of soon after. What a character reveal Kenny got. Just badass. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Of course we always needed information vs the titans but it feels different now that there is a system in place that wants us gone. It all links back to Erwin's line, "who do you think is the enemy". At this point our only ally is Pixis.

2021-10-23 22:47:12 +0000 UTCYeah Levi is back!! The vibe keeps changing. I love this one though. Connie does say“monkey” in this episode. I went back and listened to the conversation in Opening when Eren mentions the monkey. “What is a monkey?” would be the obvious translation of that sentence without context. But in context, I think the subtitles translate it correctly. “What’s this about a monkey?” He uses the exact same grammar as the sentence before it about wondering what’s they mean by the world not having a future. Hope that clears something up.

And YES, Levi, your vacation from the S-tier was short -- I hope he enjoyed it. And YES! "Coming of Age" -- the animation is making our cadets look older (especially Armin and Eren!) ever-so-slightly and it's all like the "world of the innocent childhood" is coming to an end... @_@ I really like the opening a lot!

2021-10-23 18:44:42 +0000 UTCThat’s true, but I also wonder if it’d be better for her to just ignore the mid-season credits, since it was more to tease fans who had to wait months with spoilers from the next Arc. Personally I kind of hope Romania ignore the mid-credits on episode 12 because it gets shown later on anyway, and could spoil the experience of going in blind to the rest of the season/series if analyzed.

That didn’t take long! Really love the Opening for this season though, gives me a lot of nostalgic, coming of age (and innocence lost) vibes.

And I was thinking that this recap for season 3 WOULD be six hours long...yeahhhh.....the more I think about it, the more a mid-season recap doesn't sound bad, especially since the anime ACTUALLY took time off between parts of the season. The OP is so different than the first two seasons', but I realllly like it -- it's sooo nostalgic and calling back to season one, just like this first episode! Very true! This season is definitely 2 separate arcs that each have season 2 levels of info within them, and unless you want your complete season three recap to be six hours+ long [if you can even remember enough to fully talk about the beginning of season 3 after that second arc] splitting them up would probably be best? I absolutely adore this first arc with all of my heart, and so will you, and it alone would probably be at least an hours recap, rip, and review. And Jesus christ, you'll be lucky to only have a three hour recap at the end of season three for that last arc. Anyway, love your videos and am so hyped for this season!!!

Back when Levi was still living in the underground city and he was dirt poor. However, Levi managed to save up enough money to buy a fancy teaset. The first time he used the tea cup to drink, the handle snapped leading the cup to smashed on the ground and spilled all the tea. This event seems to have traumatized Levi who somehow loses “faith” in teacup handles.

I love this whole season, but the first half just goes crazy. Now, not sure if anyone's mentioned this before, but there's a mid credit scene as part of the ED in episode 12 of this season. There was about a six month break between episodes 12 and 13, so that scene really added to the suspence and the experience.

There’s something so beautiful and sad about the flashbacks to their childhood during a simpler time. Perfectly nostalgic. EDIT: Has anyone mentioned watching “Attack on Titan is Incredible” by Gigguk? After end of S3P2?
