Violet Evergarden: Episode 13 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

The series finale...and it's structured like a series finale, but at the same time, it doesn't quite FEEL final. I'm so glad that we have two movies left, because I'm not ready to move on from this animation, emotions, and from Violet's journey.

All I can say is I'm glad Violet and Diethard had the moments they did in this, and Benedict...BENEDICT! Coming in clutch, with them high heels! ^^

And still two films to see...thank you for watching with me and for the support!

Violet Evergarden: Episode 13 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Thank you for the kind word and comment! I agree; it felt "conclusive" but that there was still a little more, which I feel the movie is for that! I'm REALLY excited to see the second film -- the first was absolutely wholesome and sweet! That is so awesome you got to see the second film in theaters! Seeing KyoAni's animation on the big screen? *chef's kiss* I'm sure!! I'm excited!

As usual, I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the final episode of the series. It was a nice conclusion to the actual series, but did leave a door for the movies. I. too, love the fact that it was supposed to be the viewer that she is greeting and going to write a letter for. I am looking forward to seeing your reaction to both movies. As I said on discord, the only problem with re-watching violet is knowing that it does have an end. My bro watched the movie for the first time when it came to netflix. I had the luck to see it at the theatre. Still, we both were reaching for the kleenexes more then once. I am looking forward most now to your reaction to the final movie.

Oh my God!! I can just PICTURE the hissing of "You Monsters" in between sobs -- I haven't watched the second movie yet, so who knows...I might get there, too! "As if I wasn't getting exactly what I signed up for" -- HA! Isn't that the truth with this series. At this point, you know what KyoAni is capable of and not afraid to do! Soooo....well....that has me excited for the last movie! :) Two and a half hours of nothing but pure FUN, right. :)

Tearfully crying "Stooooop!" at the screen is such a Violet Evergarden mood, haha. There was a point in the final movie where I hissed "You *monsters*" at the screen between sobs, as if I wasn't getting exactly what I signed up for. So, uh, look forward to that! :D

Mann....ahhh....of COURSE it's "I love you." I'm so relieved we actually got her writing a letter at the end, finally! It was a nice bookend from the first of the season to this! And oooooohhhhhh, that makes a lot of sense that it's us she sees...awww...that's actually really sweet. This series makes me want to write ALL the letters, haha! That's the power of a good show, I guess, right?

I'm honestly NOT disappointed with Episodes 12 and 13 -- after episodes 7-11, I NEEDED a reprieve from the gut-wrenching emotions and the action of 12 and 13 was a very welcome break for me...and it accumulated everything that had been building up in the background over the course of the series. I'm curious how the novels do this, but I'll probably read them later on...Oh wow...that line about the seasons is beautiful! I just watched the first movie and it was sooo much fun with such wholesome/sweet emotions...but I'm not sure I'm ready for the last movie. I'm excited nonetheless, though! Thank you for the kind words and have a great day, too!

Oh yeah, the second movie felt like they took every high and every low of the series and just doubled its magnitude. It was the only time in Violet Evergarden where I just had to pause it for a few minutes to compose myself before continuing.

That would indeed be the letter we kept seeing in the OP. The full version is in the light novel, but there's not much missing. As for the final unspoken line which Violet runs her fingers across, its transliteration is "Nun annui ruhuqirrikon." The translation is, perhaps unsurprisingly, "I love you." As for whom Violet meets at the very end, I think that's supposed to be you, the viewer. After all, Violet will go anywhere to meet your request. It is an invitation from the show for you to express your own feelings to someone dear to you, in a letter or otherwise.

A lot of people were disappointed by the final two episodes after seeing 10 and 11 and felt as the finale 12 and 13 were kinda "stale" but I saw it as a culmination of everything, as an epilogue for the audience to have closure with violet's understanding of her feelings towards the future (I also heard it was quite different in the novels but I enjoyed this anime version nontheless). The last episode evoked so many emotions in me...I cried again. There was a nice line that was not exactly translated in the video where she talks about the 4 seasons in her letter and says "just the season with you [the major] is not coming". I liked the line a lot. I really can not wait to watch both movies with you again. Have a nice day and thank you for the video! :)

Benedict is MVP and best boy, BUT those boots of his! And his fashion sense...hmmm? Still love him. Violet Evergarden is top tier for animation, OST, art, story and the emotions it evokes are amazing. This anime is a journey. Sort of felt lonely, thinking man the love between Gilbert and Violet is just a goal most of us will never reach. And you're NOT ready for the movie. The last movie is 2 hours, which means 2 hours of emotions because after all it's Violet Evergarden.
