Chao vs. XiChen was epic, but I'm concerned by the absence of Wen Ning in all of this, and the variation from the novel/donghua is definitely holding my attention, to see where we go with this...are we nearing the Turtle Cave moment?! Maybe?!

Hahaha, I mean..........we'll let it go, for the characters! But I'm surprised we're still getting the turtle! Good deal! I was honestly going to be a little sad if we didn't get the turtle cave! And seriously, HuaiSang just trying to help everyone out! :) Yeah, Untamed WWX feels a little different than novel WWX about rabbits, but that's okay! I really love the little details like this in the series so far -- and oooh, interesting! Yeah...these little crumbs of seeing how much HuaiSang knows/can be working behind the scenes is interesting!

That stuck out to me so much, the family differences with Cheng/WWX and XiChen/LWJ and their "fathers" -- that makes sense why Fengmian was strict when he first showed up, though; thanks for that info! And Wangji's smileeeeeee -- I was not prepared for it and of course I had to fangirl! <3 And yes, I'm so excited to get further into this series, though we know it's going to hurrrrttt. T-T

And don't worry, the turtle is still coming, they won't take it away from us! --Also, Huaisang being everyone's sexial awakening friend, just pointing out "wow that guy's gorgeous, anyway how about some erotica books?" ----- Madam Wen is very much related, Granny Wen is here and you know what that means. -- The scene with the rabbits, omg. Novel Wuxian being like 'I wanted to eat the rabbit do you wanna a bite?" And Untamed being like "What are you saying, those rabbits are too precious!!" -- As for Wangji's feelings, I kind of see it happening in the lantern scene, where he can't help but feel deeper and fonder, and acknowledging their connection has grown on him so much. -- Huaisang also basically invents the Hanguang-jun title right there, he complimented him basically but then it stuck. And... ep 2? the illusory fairy statue? Huaisang totally knows how it works right?? (Pls forgive my formatting, can't make line breaks from a phone browser!)

2021-11-22 21:10:29 +0000 UTCI like your comment about the juxtaposed family dynamics between the Lan and the Jiang when Fengmian arrived at Gusu. Their difference is absolutely palpable. I think that Fengmian appeared at first a bit more serious is because it's considered a gesture of humbleness and courtesy in China for a parent to be strict about his or her kid in front of people outside of the family. Wangji's smile is soooooo precious and I absolutely love it. I enjoyed your reaction and fangirling and I can't wait to dive deeper and deeper into this flashback, though we all know that it ain't gonna end well...

2021-11-22 20:34:29 +0000 UTCSorry, forgot to mention that Qiren is actually like a father to Wangji and Xichen. As far as I can remember, their real father went into seclusion and didn’t take part in raising them at all. So, Qiren is actually the only family they have and had since the beginning.

In the novel they are all very handsome and young looking due to the fact that cultivation is aimed to achieve immortality. So, according to the canon clan leaders should actually look as if they didn’t age a bit. Wen Rouhan in the book, for example, is described as a gorgeous man. In the live-action, on the other hand, the director probably decided to cast much older people, so that the differences between the younger and older generation would seem more obvious to the average viewer. But it doesn’t mean that I’m not crying internally every time I see Lan Qiren’s beard and appearance. He looks so hot in the donghua (dilf™)… 😭 Also, lmao, the comment about the statue having a crush on Wangji. Wuxian, sweetie, you are the whole circus, stop projecting your own crush on Wangji on others. Thank you for reaction!
