Moriarty the Patriot: Episode 9 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Link to Reaction: https://streamable.com/dlawwo

Deduction, the thrill of "The Chase," and bringing it all together -- I have a feeling that I'm going to LOVE the crimes that Moriarty concocts that Sherlock and Watson try to figure out in time...

Again, I am LOVING this version of Sherlock -- as our "Batman" of London in this series is faced with the ultimatum of whether to take a life for information on his would-be boyfr--I mean, nemesis, or not. And Sherlock's decision definitely will impact Watson's future adventure with him...and Moriarty's. ^^

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Moriarty the Patriot: Episode 9 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Ooooh, that is SO SAD they didn't animate it, but I'm SO excited to read the manga!! :D I'll definitely have to do a Soapbox of it afterwards! But that makes sense with the jacket and Lestrade is totally a sweetie! :) I like this version of him, too! Thank you for the kind words and I hope you have a great day, too!

After this mini arc in the manga comes one of my favourite mini arcs which they didn't animate and I can kinda understand it because it's pretty graphic. But it is still dissapointing, especially since it has focus on my two favourite characters. I guess the reason why Sherlock had his jacket over the had was because it was raining. Lestrade is sweet. I really like him. Now I can't see the scene with Sherlock opening the door without thinking about Fritzgerald. XD Wish you a wonderful day!!

I'll definitely be checking the manga out now Peach :)

I definitely recommend! It's so fun to read, but the anime itself is just as good!

Ahhhh, that makes a LOT more sense at the end -- Sherlock exposing the crimes through his investigation! That is SO clever; thank you for helping to clarify that! And I agree -- William thinks he has a "puppet" on his hands, but I feel Sherlock is going to be more unpredictable than that! @.@ And that is SUCH a cool interpretation of the OP and the dancers!! Thank you for sharing that -- I love the symbolism in the OP and that is a nice touch! I also love the "Study in Scarlet" reference and ooooh, Fred is a good boy, and I'm excited for the next two episodes!! :)

Ahhh, that makes me SO sad that the anime is leaving so much out of the manga, but it has me excited to read it, though! I appreciate the restraint, haha! :) Yeah, we'll have to see how long William can use Sherlock as a puppet -- it's a great plan -- but I feel Sherlock is going to be a bit more unpredictable than William anticipates...and thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I hope you have a great rest of the week as well!

Romaniablack

Oohhhhh, that makes much more sense! :) Thanks for that observation!

Romaniablack

Yessss, "A Study in Pink" is a good reference, too -- yesss -- it ships itself! :) Ahhh, that's so sad that so much has been left out, but that has me excited to eventually dive into the manga and see what was missing!

Romaniablack

Oh, that's awesome! I am SO excited to watch this series, especially now that Sherlock has joined the fray! :)

Romaniablack

@Peach -- I am excited to eventually read the manga!

I do love that this episode is basically "a study in scarlet" or "a study in pink" for the BBC Sherlock, the taxi driver who kills cause he has nothing to live for anymore and is consulted by Moriarty on how to do the killing, and Sherlock wanting the thrill of a case that only Moriarty can provide. These two ship themselves I swear! This anime sadly does leave out details, especially for this mini arc and especially later on. I wish they could have made this anime have at least 40 episodes to have room for everything but it's still a great anime regardless!

Peach

I'd recommend the manga if you're interested, there's a lot left out of the series and the series continues after the anime "ending". Definitely a must read.

Peach

FYI, I believe the scene with Sherlock following Fred it was raining, so Sherlock had his coat over his head to keep the rain off of him.

oh this is one of those episodes where I really wish I could tell you about the corresponding manga chapter becasuse so many panels in the chapter were so cool and there were extra scenes that are not in the anime but you are going to read it so I will restrain myself :). I really loved the episode at any rate. I love the idea of William turning Sherlock into hero for the play he is putting on in London in the form of crimes. In a sense, for now at least, it gives moriarty and the others a bit the upper hand because Sherlock may think he will be chasing them of his own accord, a lot of his actions will orchestrated and he will move and act in a manner William sees fit to his plan. This case was also for William to gauge how far Sherlock will go and in how far he can predict his behavior. In a sense, for now, sherlock is a bit like William's puppet...but let us see how long that holds. Thank you for the great reaction and I can not wait to see the one next week! Have a good week ;)

Okay, the need for Sherlock made sense to me from this episode alone, but they never explicitly say things (why do shows never just say things?). Moriarty isn't killing nobles to kill nobles, he's kill nobles who exploit their power for disgusting vices (hunting people, assulting women, letting innocents die when they can help), but what's the point in killing these people if none of the common folk find out what these nobles are doing, and spreading the word that these nobles are dying because of their own crimes. That's why Sherlock is brought in. As Moriarty said "he will shine a light into the darkness". Sherlock is there to not only solve the crime, but expose the crimes of the noble who died. Sherlock not killing Hope wasn't just a moment of him gaining Watson's trust, but William's too. They both, to an extent, trust that Sherlock won't get out of hand. Is this trust well placed? ... Eh, Sherlock gonna do what Sherlock gonna do. Fun tidbit, at the top of Watson's diary page, it says "A Study In Scarlet". Also, probably one of my favourite parts of this OP, since we're losing it soon, is the dancers. They respesent the nobles. They wear all black, which became popular mourning clothes in this period, but that is all they do for the person dying in the centre. They continue to dance with their masks on, turning a blind eye to a person's suffering. It is very apt for how the nobles in this series are portrayed. Next two parter is one of my favourites. And Fred is a good boy.

I was introduced to this show through your reactions and I then binged watched the show to the end. I just finished watching series 2 and can say I am satisfied with the ending! 🥰 I don't think I'm ever going to be able to stop thinking about this show now though.
