Sweet, cinnamon roll, precious Blue Dragon...you have my heart already! And Ao...Ao who lived such a tortured life, seemingly, trying to spare the Blue Dragon from the harshness of the world, while begrudgingly caring for him...Yona, show, you didn't have to tug at my heart like this...but ya did.
We're at the halfway point of the season with the introduction of the Blue Dragon in this episode...I have a feeling I'm going to get attached to him, aren't I? T

THIS EPISODE! T_T It seriously broke my heart how broken Ao was at the end, and still tried to love our boy, Blue, despite it all. he is SO precious and I agree: assemble the protection squad! I can't take how cute he is....but he's voiced by the same VA as BAKUGOU?!?! Seriously?! My mind is BLOWN -- I would never have known!! @.@ I loved this episode so much, despite the sadness of it! And yessss, so ready for more with this boy! :) Thanks!!

2021-12-20 18:00:56 +0000 UTCBAWLING ONCE AGAIN ABOUT THE BLUE DRAGON. Ahhh, how this broke my heart when I first read/watch this flashback. The scene where Ao finally loses all his power and screams all his final frustrations out, just gets me…and then when he cries about leaving him alone T_T I curl up into a ball everytime. Meanwhile, our current Blue Dragon is precious baby who just wants to have friends. And the BELLS - the fact he’s still wearing them in the present time too *cries again* must protecccccc at all cost!!! I think it’s so funny that the Blue Dragon’s voice actor (present ver.) is Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voices Bakugo from My Hero Academia and Nishinoya from Haikyuu. Like his range is amazinggg XD This ep was definitely one of my favorites. I love the stark contrast between the two dragon villages, it would have been waaaaay too easy if all the dragons were just revered as the White Dragon’s blood was. Also how different the upbringing is for each dragon that affects who they are as people. It’s so interesting! Can’t wait for you to get more acquainted with the Blue Dragon in the next reaction!

I can see why he's popular, especially after this backstory; I just want to adopt him! The relationship with Ao and Blue is soooo heartbreaking, especially when he smiles as Ao dies. UGH. Muh Heart. Seriously, this show is REALLY underrated; it's been SO good so far and I have a feeling the manga is going to be even better! Thanks for the kind words and have a great day, too!

2021-12-20 05:31:42 +0000 UTCThe blue dragon is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto who also voiced Haeng-dae from this series. Ao is voiced by Miyamoto Mitsuru who voiced Mori in bsd. It's sad that so many shojou's only get one season. Especially when it's such an amazing series like Akayona. The blue dragon is one of the if not the most popular dragon. And he IS really precious. It's so sad to see how he grew up. As harsh as Ao was to him, he definitely cared for the blue dragon. I don't want to know how lonely both of them had to feel. The backstory also shows what a life without love and only hate can do with a person. Ao has my heart. I really like him and am so sad for him. I love that right from the first two dragon villages we get a big difference. One worships that power, the other thinks its a curse. I guess the reason this villiage turned out like this was because somehow the legend didn't get passed down or the story changed. That would make sense as to why they see this power as a curse. Even the dragons themselfs. I actually think that they started wearing the masks so it isn't weird that only one has a mask on. And since in the flashback they didn't do this I guess they started doing it after the blue dragon used his power. How dare this show get me attached to every bigger character we meet? And even the ones that are already dead? Every damn time this episode makes me cry. The moment with the bell and Ao apologizing breaks me. Wish you a wonderful day!!

I hate that Ao clearly suffered a lot of abuse through his reign as the Blue Dragon; I hate that, so I'm glad that this newest Blue Dragon will actually have friends! ^^ Thank you for the kind words and comment! Good thing the crew is about to do that for us 😌 I love the Blue Dragon's backstory. I remember being shocked by it when I first watched because of how dark it was. Ao especially shows how the powers of the dragons and the treatment they endure can be twisted in abusive ways. While it's hard to see him screaming and being so violent around a four-year-old. It's understandable considering the abusive environment he lives in. Our blue dragon is all he has, there's no one to vent to, there's no one to be his friend or loved one. So it creates this back and forth between resentment but care for our Blue Dragon :(( In any case, thank you for the reaction as always. Looking forward to next week.

You can tell poor Ao was haunted and hated himself, but wanted to care for our boy, Blue! And this village...it makes me appreciate Kija's all the more! And thank you for the heads up about the manga and the OVA's! I planned on reading the manga and once I got to the chapters the OVA's are over, reading and watching them! :) That helps out a lot! I know you watched ahead so you probably learned his name, it's most likely misspelled too but I'll wait until that episode comes. Ah yes, the blue dragons village.... they're not great people huh? After a few thousand years, the information about the dragons and of the king probably didn't get passed down but all they know is the blue dragon's power is a "curse". That's so sad, the blue dragon's power is my favorite and because he doesn't use it he can never fully control it. At least he had Ao, he's kinda aggressive but I don't blame him, he was branded a monster all his life and came to hate his power. Very opposite to Kija's village where they worship the white dragon like a religion. Also, speaking of the OVA's, I'm not sure you know but they are canon to the manga, first OVA is chapter 70 and the second OVA, which is 2 parts, starts on chapter 101. There's pretty big gaps in between, even from where the anime ends. I just wanted to point it out since you're gonna read the manga so I'm not sure if you wanna read the manga up to those points then watch the ova's or watch the ova's after the anime. Or maybe you already knew this! Either way, just wanted to throw some info out!

In all villages, the blue dragons village just doesn't know shit. y'know, history changes and yeah. also, it's been so long since I watched this show, that I literally forgot the blue dragon's backstory. And now I'm disappointed in myself, HOW did I forget this?????? It's just so beautifully sad. nice reaction as always!
