My brain is mush, my adrenaline high, because THIS EPISODE! There's still so much mystery and questions with everything involving our mysterious serial killer, but the dots are connecting! And the trust established with Lu and Cheng? Lu's admittance of why he likes Cheng? Cheng's initiative?!
It all was so awesome coming together this episode, but with one episode left...how is it going to end? Especially to lead up to a second season?! I am SO curious to find out!

I'm glad I wasn't alone in being confused!! And that cliffhanger -- as per Link Click usual! Hahaha, our badass baka, Cheng, right?! Having to wait a week is insanity -- it makes me nervous for when we get to season 2, hahaha! And that jump scare -- NOPE! Even in editing, I was looking away, haha! Yeah, the comparisons to Doudou's situation all make sense now, and I agree -- Cheng has such a sad childhood, but it's sweet to see that he's made connections with Ling and Lu, and we see why Lu likes him. This cliffhanger gives me so much anxiety but Cheng Xiaoshi was also really badass. Stupid but badass. Luckily I could watch the last episode right after this. I don't know how people could wait a week. The jumpscare still get's me everytime. Didn't they technically did the same thing they did with doudou? Saying they have to make sure nothing happens to them and then meet in the present? With both doudou and Xu Shanshan they didn't knew if they're still alive or not. Seeing Cheng Xiaoshi's past is really sad. I don't get how his parents could just leave him. But it was really sweet to see what drew Lu Guang to Cheng Xiaoshi. Wish you a wonderful day!!

2022-01-30 12:32:17 +0000 UTCThat's a good point -- Lu can't tell if she died or not, so technically nothing's "set in stone" yet, eh? And I like that Cheng takes advantage of that to literally "steer" fate (though if that has repercussions, who knows, eh) the paradox angle of a "future never known" is REALLY intriguing! I like it! And yessss, everything is making more sense! The twists this show does and how it all ties back and makes sense? I LOVE IT! And ha ha ha -- I am easily scared, and this show is really taking advantage of that! Sorry for everyone's ears! :P Thanks for the comment!

2022-01-26 15:16:02 +0000 UTCI HATE Jump Scares -- they get me EVERY TIME. And yeah -- man -- it all really came together (somewhat) didn't it?! And that's a good point about ShanShan probably being injured, but not dead (yet), so it was okay that he altered time in that moment. Also, that is awesome how Cheng planned all of this out! Our boy has gone from someone blindly wandering through the photo with Lu's guidance to being able to take on the situation himself and map things out...it's a great feeling, seeing our boy take charge, but nothing ominous or foreshadowing about that either, right? *nervous chuckle* And YES, next week's episode is just....*sweats* Where to start?! :) Thanks for the kind words and comment!

2022-01-26 14:59:49 +0000 UTCI think this is all so recent that it's still unknown if Shanshan was supposed to die at that moment or was just knocked unconscious (Lu can't tell) so it's like Schrodinger's Cat - she isn't dead or alive, she's both until the "box" is opened (it all plays out for them now). They haven't actually changed the future as far as anyone can know. And they'll never know now because they definitely have changed things but...paradox - that future will never happen so it can't be known. Cheng sent the picture he took as Shanshan in front of the store, the first thing he did as her. The attacker, who kept her phone after the attack, receives the picture she took at 10 am and understands it is the clue. So Blondie goes to the shop at the same time that Cheng is reliving out the attack and making a bargain. Isn't it twisty? I love this show. Good screech, by the way! Haha!

Since you've watched the season finale already, you should've got many answers, and I'm not afraid to spoil you here. What Cheng did in Xu Shanshan's case is like Doudou's case. Xu Shanshan probably didn't die after the initial assault, so Cheng could actually went back to persuade the killer not to kill her, just like how he scared the kidnapper to take good care of Doudou. If Xu Shanshan really had died at that moment, that death would be the node that cannot be crossed, and no matter what Cheng went to try, he probably won't be able to save her. Yes, Cheng returned to the same spot where he started his dive into the photo. So he probably entered the photo in the dark room, and when he quit the photo, he returned back to the dark room. So the trap was set by Cheng to lure and serial killer. It was a smart move, so good job Cheng! Cheng is soooo well animated in this episode, especially the last shot! So HYPED for next week's season finale.

2022-01-25 23:49:17 +0000 UTCOkay, the last scene...The part where the bad guy is walking into the Photo Store (Lu and Cheng's place) occurs in the present. While Cheng is in the photo, the night before the tells the bad guy he'll send him a clue (the next day, the day Cheng goes into the photo). When Cheng leaves the photo he arrives in the present in to the dark room where the bad guy has been trapped. The timeline is bouncing back to the past and the present in the same scene.
