Natsume Yujin-Cho Season 2: Episode 11 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*CONJURED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This show gets me more and more invested and it is upping the ante this week! Natsume finds himself in the middle of a cult-- I mean, a gathering of Conjurers, and with Natori's suggestion he's helping to track down a murderous yokai!

With it being the penultimate week for season 2, the show is not holding back with the heart, the humor, and the CREEP FACTOR! WHAT THE HECK, SHOW?!

Natsume Yujin-Cho Season 2: Episode 11 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! I just love Natsume as a character! Nanase definitely wants to establish her position and possibly see if Natsume could work with them – and Natsume’s not having it! I looove the symbolism and themes in this episode! And How it shows Natsume’s growth as a character so far! The idea of who “should” have power and who does or doesn’t and getting some into yokai-seeing characters outside from Natsume is so good! Thank you so much! Whiteboard-kun is elusive in this series, but it’s fun to see him! But yeah, THE JUMP SCARE - WHY?! Hahaha!! Thank you so much - so excited for the rest of season 2!

Loved the reaction & discussion! Completely agree with this show being ‘oddly comforting’ – personally, I think that rests on the strength of Natsume’s character. 🥰 This was a hilarious moment: ‘Natori might show up before the end of the season!’ 1min later: '✨' 😂 I absolutely love the framing of Natsume’s conversation with Nanase-san. I’d say Nanase came off as pushing boundaries - if not deliberately, then just overstepping. Establishing her position? Testing him? And in that interaction Natsume’s eyes are covered. There’s specific focus on body language, with Nanase leaning in, touching him and Natsume staying still – he even clenches his fists. Then Natsume’s covered eyes are revealed only to the audience as he asks himself whether he 'could truly believe in others.' Stunning! Both subtle AND overt - so well done, love that little scene. Also, the way the show is bringing in the themes of the perception of where power is “innate” vs where it is “acquired,” who has it and who doesn’t, who thinks someone else has too much and it should be stripped of them, etc, etc. Excellent discussion around those themes and it was lovely to see Whiteboard-kun again! The detail of Natsume having a difficult time distinguishing between the humans and the yokai is delicious. That jumpscare was unnecessary! 😭 Looking forward to next week! 💙
