I definitely will want to look into the manga and maybe in November do a review of it but so far, a very distinct style and very, very creepy! I'm definitely intrigued and excited to see how this story will play out this month! Thank you so much for the comment!

2024-10-09 22:21:12 +0000 UTCI was dubious so how well the disgust and terror of uzumaki could be adapted into animated form but so far its really good. They kept all the stylistic aspect of the manga and while it doesn't quite have the same grittiness I think it still does a very good job. When I first read uzumaki i was so disgusted and horrified but I also couldn't look away and ended up binging the manga in 1 day. definetly an experiecne. Junji Ito's works are not for the faint of heart. I'm a big horror fan and I love uzumaki but there are several works of his I simply can't stomach. Gyo almost made me throw up for real.

What a wild episode, and YES, the rotoscoping just ADDS to the creepiness in the best way! Also, I hate rotoscoping because I think it looks creepy, so this is the one animation I've seen where I think it works perfectly. PS. "Have you never been coon hunting?" is my favorite Romania Black quote.

Twin Peaks is definitely my jam, but that's more psychological than "scary" for me. You know, I watched this episode and I think that my brain immediately disconnected, *lol* It did disturb me enough that I needed a palate cleanser. So, hearing all your theories is the first time I actually thought about it at all, and that made the reaction even more fun than they usually are. As creepy as this episode was, and it definitely grossed me out, the only moment I really couldn't watch was the fingertips' one. Considering this is episode one, that is not encouraging, but it was nice to note for myself. Perfect watch for October, though!

It’s my jam! Twin Peaks, Twilight Zone, X-Files, I love all of these series! There are actually audio editions of Twilight Zone that Husband and I love to listen to while we drive all over Texas. I’m super excited for you watching this series! I have been reading Junji Ito since the late ‘90. I think, think, I have most of his manga. The oldest collection of Ito’s I have is from 2000. Flesh Colored Horror published by Comics One, which no longer exists, is my prized copy! I believe that most if not almost all of his works have been published in English now which I am grateful for! Love your reaction and btw….. FEB for this episode: 1 hahahaha! I had too! 😅
