Ahhhh, thank you so much for the kind words! I've only played FFX but I have seen my brother and watched cut scenes for FFIX and FFVII/FFVIII :D Chocobos are so iconic! But yes, December is SUCH a hype month for Utena for me - these episodes as been WILD WILD WILD...so there we go! There is a lot to "feast on this month!" :D I hope you all enjoy my rambles over dinner! ;)

I've heard you bring up FF a couple times - a chocobo reference a few times in your 1998 Trigun reactions I'm pretty sure haha! X was a great one! The hype! I can't wait to see the upcoming Utena episodes, and I don't want to get too far ahead either because it's fun getting to see the reaction shortly after my first watch without knowledge of what's ahead! I totally forgot we were getting Delicious in Dungeon / Dungeon Meshi Ep1 today too! We're feasting over here with all these shows! :)

It is kind of hilarious that Utena doesn’t even really know Keiko and here she has to duel here…and Keiko isn’t even after Anthy! I’ve only played Final Fantasy X, but I know what you’re talking about! But yes, the STYLE - I’m living for it! Come on, show! Get to it! I do like the roller blade gag - in a show like this, some “trick” like that can still be used and not take away from the seriousness of the show! And ChuChu, bless him! 2024-11-28 23:18:14 +0000 UTCThey've run out of people to fight Utena so now the Order of the Black Rose is sending people she doesn't even know to duel her just to keep their building heated. It feels like in Final Fantasy games when you've gotten towards the end and you keep having to fight those random battles, and you just win them in one single attack. That's this episode, enemy encountered, Utena vs Nanami Friend C, Utena is like, really now? You can at least try and not waste my time with these untrained opponents! I do agree the style from this show is amazing! Those dresses don't miss! And Anthy still remains a mystery. It does make me wonder who the next person Utena will lose Anthy to will end up being, if anyone (I'm only 1 episode ahead, have no clue)!

2024-11-24 20:20:09 +0000 UTCEvery episode of this arc I keep thinking "Ok, they've run out of characters" they manage to find another one. I will say, the show does a great job of making us care about the black rose duelist characters very quickly and understand where they're coming from. "If this was polygamist yuri we would have a lot of fun." I think this is the most we've ever agreed on anything. I think the roller blades were an animation gag. We see Keiko come on screen from the waist up, but her upper body doesn't move, which is something you see in cheaply made cartoons. Then they reveal that she's on roller blades which would explain how that's possible, but it tricked me for a second into thinking they had a budget cut for this episode. Anyway, the best part of the episode is when Chu Chu uses his sleeping bag to fart into his own mouth and kill himself.
