BLUE LOCK Season 2: Episode 8 Reaction!

*DENIM-DRIVEN HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This series is sure, about soccer and letting yourself enjoy self-love and striving for success, but the other "S" word this series is about is SHIPPING -- and there is a lot of it in this episode!

The Itoshi Brothers are...a bit wild, and this game is nearing halftime ALREADY, which is wild, but I have a feeling things are JUST getting started!

BLUE LOCK Season 2: Episode 8 Reaction!

Comments

The show gets MORE AND MORE Shippy as we go and I am NOT complaining! I do agree that as long as Rin treats Sae like a sibling, he won’t be able to surpass him - that’s why I hope that like KNB, Rin ends up being able to move forward and treat him as a rival and not a sibling! But I can see Sae being less jealous of Himuro - it’s REALLY hard to read his character, so I’m looking forward to maybe getting a flashback from SAE’s perspective to see for ourselves, but YES! Rin is also way more spiteful than Kagami hahaha! I agree, BLLK continues to be the spiritual successor to KNB! And that face plant Isagi does trying to hug Rin is also one of my favorite moments of the episode! Yessss, there are some parallels to March and KNB with Blue Lock and I’m going to be curious to see if Blue Lock goes with the trope or how they subvert it! Thank you for the comment and kind words! 😀

FRAUDTOSHI hahaha and GOATOSHI - I love it! Isagi seems a simple man to please, honestly; maybe with a praise kink, who knows. And yeah, I would say Rin is definitely the captain, whereas Aiku is the captain of the U-20, not that Sae cares remotely. And oooohhh, that is really cool about Rin having “luck” on his side! We saw that play out so much in season 1, so it’s neat to see it still in action, albeit with some different variables, here. Thanks for pointing that out and the comment!

Oh gosh, Rin really made a number on Isagi with that phrase, didn't her?

I honestly don't know how they manage to make this show more and more shippier with every episode XD Look, I'm going to speak like a little sister now, but I actually agree with Sae so much about Rin not being able to surpass him as long as he sees Sae as his older brother. There's this subconscious admiration, I think, that is very natural and makes you see everything your older sibling does as untouchable and unsurpassable simply by the fact that your older sibling did it, because they have always being ahead of you in life by the simple virtue of having being born first; while at the same time there's this need to be better, to surpass and achieve something incredible all on your own, but both things often clash subconsciously, I think. Like, as long as Rin sees Sae as his older brother he will just fall short of his own potential because of all those implications doesn't matter how much he wants to prove himself to him or surpass him, and only by seeing Sae as simply a rival will he be able to fully go off. Oh, yeah, Rin and Sae are very much like Kagami and Himuro *nods profusely* but somehow I think Sae is way less jealous of Rin than Himuro was and just really wants to see Rin's full potential and Rin is way more spiteful than Kagami ever was *lol* It's fun! Just like it's fun to continue seeing how BLLK continues to feel like the spiritual successor of Kuroko's Basketball. Isagi face-planting when trying to hug Rin after his goal will remain as one of the funniest moments of this show for me LMAO. Also, something something about March Comes in Like a Lion recently mentioning that a player/team doing well in the first half of a match means almost certain defeat in sports anime, which I couldn't stop thinking about when we end the episode with BLLK 1 goal ahead of the U-20s. Not that BLLK has ever done things as other sports anime has, so I really don't know who could win, but I just literally couldn't stop thinking about that March quote XD

I'm all into Fraudtoshi Sae agenda now, failed two passes and a goal, Goatoshi Rin would never. Also Isagi must really like that "keep your eyes on me", he been replaying that line like 3 times already . And I love how Rin is acting like a captain, he leads by example and give orders to switch plans, he really is carrying. Finally, I'm gonna end this comment with the last Rin glaze. When Sae intercepted Karasu, although Sae made the play, Rin was the one getting the ball. For me it is tied to the luck concept in first season, Rin's excellent positioning makes him more likely to get the loose ball and chances created by others.
