OH. OH Y'ALL. This volume is my FAVORITE so far of Maximum!
It is REVEAL AFTER REVEAL, twist after twist, and some elements from the '98 anime and Stampede combine into this volume in ways that I am obsessed with and I cannot wait to see what Maximum has in store for us if THIS is only Volume 5!

This volume was a RIDE and I was NOT expecting it at ALL! It's crazy and reveal after reveal - such a fun trip this week! Zazzie's new body, Knives's diva-ness, Elendira being an absolute QUEEN -- there was so much to love with the design of this volume! And yes, lots of perspective and focus on the tiny details, especially religious imagery throughout. I love how Nightow gets us thinking about things like this! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! Honestly, volumes 5 AND 6 were so much fun, so I can't wait until next week!!

Amazing amount of impact with such a short one β each chapter ended where I thought itβd be just halfway through. π I absolutely adore this version of Zazzie! βNightow should be a nicer mangaka!β π Agreed β so much despair and screaming in this particular volume. There was an intense amount of focus on the eyes, an omniscient perspective, and definitely a lot of religious and almost votive imagery. Another volume where the art is of course unmistakably Nightow but there is such clear direction and cohesion in the different presentation in comparison to previous volumes β all about the observer? So good. The Knives read was really excellent! Also, Elendira β potentially new love of my life. π Cannot wait for next week! β€οΈ
