The episode was just PURE good feelings and I agree; I loved every second as well! I love that there's a cooking element in this show! I'm glad Dungeon Meshi will carry on that tradition after this is over! I love that the grandpa is so proud of them, but yes, wants them to keep going and keep improving! I love that Rei gets to help too, especially like you said, when he strives to be a helpful person! :3 I also love that he's LITERALLY a part of their family now! He's just a sweetheart and I want him to stay with that family 100%. I definitely DO NOT get great vibes about the dad...at ALL. You make so many good points about him in this -- I have a feeling that if we see him in the manga or season 3, it's not going to be a fun time. :( I really love how this season has been - it's been so surprising, but I love it! That last scene with the teacher walking away and her just staring as she gets further and further away? INSANELY well done! I am with you...I'm NOT ready to be on hiatus from March...that's for sure! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

2024-12-19 03:25:35 +0000 UTCThis episode was so freaking adorable; nothing to do with the really intense set of episodes that preceded it, and I loved every second of it. Cooking classes with Akari and Hina are some of my favorite moments. Yes! That recipe looks super easy to make and quite tasty. The grandpa not owning to just how delicious the food that his granddaughters made is, is *such* an Asian parenting thing XD They will never praise you to the full extent they think you deserve because you can always do better and that will encourage you to do better next time. I thought it was solely Chinese, but maybe I'm wrong, and it's just Asian in general XD So, for him to say that it was good, well, that's high praise right there. Rei likes to be of help, so I'm sure he was delighted to be approached to help with the food stand. Plus, he likes to be depended upon, and feel a part of the family; and if them just immediately assuming he was ready to help isn't proof that he is part of the family, I don't know what to tell you. And of course he did more than he was originally asked to do, because he is a sweetheart. Look, I know that I tried to stay slightly positive about the dad before, but... nah, this episode took that away from me. I don't think he ever was much involve with his family, or his daughters to begin with. I mean, we see Mikako carrying baby Akari on her back while working at the food stand in that one flashback, why didn't the dad take her if he knew his wife was going to be busy? Like, sure, he might not have been interested in the family shop, that's fine, but he could still look over his baby daughter, so his wife could work freely, right? But he doesn't, Mikako has to take Akari with her. That last part with Takagi was a nice addition. I was sure we wouldn't touch upon this arc again because we had closed it, but as always, March is here surprising me in the best ways possible. I think Kokubo managed to reach her, to some degree; it's very hard that a teacher will be able to do much considering the influence of the parents, in this case the mother, is so strong, but I do think that Kokubo agreeing with her is not something she was expecting and that caught her attention, made her ready to listen to what he had to say, and then he explained to her what she needs to do to get out of the awful pit she has fallen into, and that is literally something only she can do. I can't believe that we only have 3 more episodes T_T I'm not ready for this wonderful show to end.
