Romania & Bro: ARCANE Season 2: Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

 *BLISTERING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This second act of season 2 just gets BETTER AND BETTER! Vi, you are making me question my sexuality, and the relationship between her, Jinx, Isha, and ...well...Warwick! Was so engaging and beautiful in this episode!

Couple that with Mel's struggles and "revelations" of her own and The ABSOLUTE Mystery with what's happened to Jayce as Viktor is gaining "power," I am ENTHRALLED with this story!

Romania & Bro: ARCANE Season 2: Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Hahahaha, I hadn't thought of that, but that's a great point - I mean, polluted waters could have that effect! :D

Both Vander and Silco looked younger in their fight flashback (closer how they looked here with Felicia), and the letter Jinx found said "when she died i lost my head" would be very weird if that didn't refer to Felicia and the fight. Although with the water quality in Piltover/Zaun being what it is, perhaps they both instantly aged 10-15 years after taking a dip in it. :P

That is true - I definitely want to reserve my overall thoughts until we see what Act III gives us, as I haven’t watched any of those episodes yet. But that’s a fair point! Also, I’m not 100% sure about the Silco attack…hmmm…I may ask my brother about that, but yeah, if he knew Vi and Powder were Felicia’s kids…you’d think he’d have a different attitude around them? Hm. Good thoughts to bring up.

He seems to have seen something akin to Hextech before, so with that he migh be right, but seems he missed a few "problems" that arised before Jayce ever entered the picture. But how much are we really to infer Heimerdinger is less squeaky clean than he first appears? or was this just an overlooked consequence the writers didn't really intend? (or care about) In the real world everything has cause and effect, in a fictional setting things doesn't have to add up, even if they preferably to a certain extent do. I forgot to mention it in my initial post, but did this episode kind of do a retcon? In the first season it seemed like Vander and Silco split years before the failed march across the bridge. here it seemed to imply Vander attacked Silco after that point instead. Seems to me Silco's interactions with Vi and Powder should be slightly different if he where around when they grew up, unless i've misunderstood something in the timeline here.

*slowly crawls under table* Yeahhhhhh…..”founder of Piltover” is pretty damning - maybe we can’t say he knew about the hex tech stuff that would unfold, but I am honestly really wanting to see - now that they’re inside the Arcane (I guess??) to see what Jayce and Ekko confront him about, if anything. I don’t want to link to any of our real world issues, because that is a VERY slippery slope that can be full of fallacies, and I’d like to avoid them, haha! Let’s not bring Eren Yeager into this! XD But thank you for pointing that out, nonetheless! Yeah, I’m glad that the montage with Vi wasn’t the rest of this series with her - it was really well executed, though. Agree, though, there are better ways to live! I honestly thought that it was visual flair with Mel, so I did not see her being (probably?) a witch coming! But that makes SO MUCH more sense about her and Jayce being okay after the attack because of her powers! I like the confirmation that it wasn’t just luck and a plot convenience as I originally thought! MURDER HOBO JAYCE. Dear God, I love it. Oohhhhhh, I had not made the connection with the crystal, but I’ll be sure to talk about it in Episode 7, since I already have recorded episode 6 *nervous laughter* I’m definitely curious as to what all has gone down that we haven’t seen, but hoping the series backtracks to that! Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

Yes, each episode is SO dense and even when I am editing now, I’m going back and noticing new things that I didn’t even during the reaction AND discussion, and having to make notes on what to backtrack to! I do agree though that I would have LOVED more time with Vi - the montage works REALLY well, but I’m greedy, hahaha! And I think that it would have worked to have had more time for Caitlyn and Vi to have gotten more backstory, but what we got at least was quality! Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

Y’all can’t let me be with Heimerdinger! But I do agree that him leaving the council and working with Ekko is the best that’s happened to him thus far!

Romaniablack

AHAHAAHA! I mean, I’m on the ace spectrum, but really only into men, but yes, I get it, too! Vi looked amazing! And yes, the visuals are INCREDIBLE! I’m so impressed by how much they put into this series - the proof is in the pudding, as one would say! Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

SOY BOY JAYCE ahahahaha -- but yes, deranged bearded Jayce was the glow up I was NOT expecting! Thank you for the comment! I will continue to fangirl off screen!

Romaniablack

Down with Dinger! Being kicked out of the council and joining Ekko in helping Zaun's people is the best thing that happened to his character.

I think the show creates this much discussion because of how incredibly dense and fast-paced each episode is. I love it most of the time, since I was on the edge of my seat when watching. But sometimes it's to the character's detriment. Vi's time being a pit fighter should have been longer in my opinion. She stopped trying to save or help anyone and was processing her pain for the first time since coming out of prison. Condensing all that into a music video does a disservice to her character.

Down with Dinger!

We can blame many different people for all kind of things going awry in this show, but if we want to primary cause, the one we can blame for everything wrong in Piltover and Zaun it's, and i may annoy your brother here :P it's, ding ding ding... Heimerdinger. In season one they called him the founder of Piltover and he was the head of the council, did he have that position from the very start? Either way he obviously has been in a position of power since the city was founded, so everything with the Grey (wich he didn't fix, the Kirammans did that apparently), all other pollution problems and the mistreatment of the people in Zaun has all been under his watch. It would be a bit like if one of the founding fathers lived forever, still held power, and pretended to now nothing about... say slavery or the genocide of the native population. Claiming ignorance at that point wouldn't even be a defense. Let this not be indication on my overall views on Heimerdinger, just me once again wanting to point out some character deeds i think many overlook. :) I to love underground fighter Vi, but probably not the healthiest way to live so guess we have to hope she finds better ways to deal with heartache than drowning in booze and getting hit in the face. People speculated that Mel had powers after season one when we saw golden light shine from her right before Jinx's missile hit. I thought it was just some visual flair, but when we saw that glow again (and her and Jayce being perfectly fine) in the first episode of this season i suspected i was wrong. Here we got all but confirmation that she didn't survive that explosion only out of sheer luck. We had himbo Jayce and now we have (murder) hobo Jayce, something for everyone. Not sure if you made the connection but the crystal in Jayce's arm was the one he got when he was little and him and his mom were saved by that... wizard? sorcerer? not sure what magic users are called in LoL/Arcane. We've seen him wear it on his wrist and i guess it now somehow fused into his flesh, probably some similar transformation as what seems to have happend to his hammer.

Christopher Pettersson

Vi makes me question my sexuality, and I'm a straight man, I'm not even sure how that's possible, but I get it. The visuals are really good this season, you can see the budget went into making some amazing shots during the fight scenes.

Lynden

Yes, soy boy jayce to dilf jayce, the glow up is incredible. I love deranged jayce so much.
