I was looking for a new holiday classic, and HERE WE ARE! Heartwarming, hilarious, beautifully animated, with just a touch of surreal as one would expect from Satoshi Kon!
This was a perfect movie to round out the year and I'm so glad I finally saw it! There's so much to talk about with this and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Ahhhhh, I just love this movie to pieces, so it will have to be a holiday staple from now on! Definitely have White Christmas, Love Actually, It's a Wonderful Life, Christmas Vacation -- my mother loves Miracle on 34th Street, too! Hahaha, Berserk has influenced me so much! :P And oohhh, I did not know that about Shallow Grave - INSTANTLY putting that on the list because Trainspotting is so good (but that damn baby!) -- Hana is so wonderful; she really is the heart of the trio. She reminds me a little of Angel from Rent, oddly enough. And ahhh! That's exciting about your holiday! I have some time off until new year's now, which is great! And Shepard's pie - one of my favorites!! That's so cool to give them out as gifts!! It definitely sounds like it will be worth it! I'm hoping to get to watch a lot of shows on my break as well! Merry Christmas to you too! Oh Holy Night is so beautiful!! And hahaha, I remember singing that song (the comedy one) all the time as a kid and wanting a hippo...now they just scare me a little for how dangerous they can be! ;) Thank you for the comment!

I cry buckets every time I watch it! It’s stuffed full of coincidences that lead full circle. I laughed when you said “Casca has a gun! Oh never mind….” When he pulled the wig off! Hahahaha! I knew you would say that! 🤣 Trainspotting is one of my all time favorite movies! If you haven’t seen it, Shallow Grave is the prequel to Trainspotting, kinda of. Loved all the analysis and yes, Hana is one of my favorite characters in this movie! She is wonderful and I think she would be a great mom. I feel like she has a lot of love in her heart. Well, tomorrow starts my holiday till next year! Husband does have to work but we do have some time to ourselves which I’m looking forward to. We will be cooking for the family, his wonderful Shepherds pie! We are giving them as gifts and we have like 5 of them to assemble. It will be lots of work but it will be worth it! I hope your Holiday will be a joyous one! And yes, I’m going to binge some anime and manga on my break! Merry Christmas!
