Look, things going into hibernation are supposed to be calming...soothing...peaceful...so why is this episode anything BUT THAT?!
While I am all in on the new character guarding our gems during hibernation, Phos's intrusive thoughts, THESE ICE FLOES, and all the ramifications of what's happening to our sweet gem is starting to make me PANIC. Show...why?!

Right?! It’s just so wild but I’m having a lot of fun with it!! And Antarcticite is one of my favorites so far! But yeah, Phos makes me terrified because they’re bad luck so far! But yeah, the ice floes are super creepy! And yeah, there is a moment where it feels like they are killing the ice floes because they are so similar, at least to me; definitely creepy! Yeah, Adamant is No. 1 on my list of mysterious and that I want to know more about! But yeah, Phossssss….I think it makes sense more and more why Adamant wants to keep Phos “busy” with things to do because they are such accident-prone! I’m definitely on the edge waiting to see what happens with them! Thank you for the comment!

I definitely want to check out some of the production things, but not now obviously - I have to get through the series and the manga first! ;) BUT that is crazy for that detail on Cinnabar’s shoes! NOOOOO....yes, what now?! And oooh, Antarcticite is my new favorite and that link is wild! I love how the show is pulling these minerals I hadn't even considered! And seriously, the body horror elements and violence and "gore" when they're gem stones and there's never any blood? It's almost a mind trip! But yeah, where to from here? I'm so excited! 2024-12-26 03:27:17 +0000 UTCThis show is one of the most insane ones I've ever watched, and one of the ones I have the hardest time wrapping my head around, as well. Antarcticite truly is a great mentor for Phos. It's just a shame that Phos is a magnate for disasters and ends up in such a bind on their watch. Oh, yeah, the ice floes are creepy little things and weird as heck. Can it be considered murder that they kill them because they are also minerals? Is that a reach? Maybe, but I do find it some level of disturbing. As different as Adamant is from the other gems, and I feel we don't talk enough about how different he is while he is also so similar, the fact that he also needs to hibernate, to some degree, is very interesting to me. I don't know, I just can't figure him out. Should we be surprised that Phos ends this episode in another distressing situation? At this point, I feel like that is their natural state, as terrible as that sounds. I mean, I don't like it, but I'm not exactly surprised anymore by it. Though this is probably one of the worst binds they've been on yet.

2024-12-23 23:01:59 +0000 UTCThe light in the bowl was one of the bioluminescent jellyfish they keep around in bowls as light sources. We’ve seen how they like taking on the color of the gems around them. Phos was probably using it to stay awake lol Despite how empty the land of the lustrous world is, there’s a surprising amount of thought in the world building. There’s a lore book with a lot of interesting details about the production and functionality of things like clothing, furniture, and surrounding life forms on their little island. It’s got spoilers in it so I wouldn’t check it out until after the manga, but it’s super detailed and interesting. One non-spoiler detail I think you’ll like is that Cinnabar is the only gem to wear shoes with laces because the mercury would make them slide off otherwise. Gotta give thanks to Red Beryl for that much <3
