Romania & Bro: ARCANE Season 2: Episode 6 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**HIVE-MINDED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

*LOUD DARK LAUGHTER*

Oh, it's just the end of the second act - what could go wrong?! Listen up, you'll need to watch the full discussion because where I was at the start of the discussion (as my main ship is on fire and shot through the heart) EVOLVES a lot by the end after we discuss theories, hive minds, and all sorts of goodies we think will need to be revealed in the final act!

But also, damn, just as Vi, Jinx, Isha, and Vander come together...the pieces get placed on a powder keg...and...well? PEW. WHAT. AN. EPISODE.

Semantic Weeds - I'm surprised someone doesn't have a literary cannabis line called that (it probably exists)! :D I would agree with you that he took her under his wing rather than kill her to try and do...something like "teach" her or share his ideals with her...of course, who in Arcane is winning Parent of the Year? :P

Romaniablack

Yeah just me being lost in the semantic weeds again ;) Oh and i don't disagree that he projected his trauma onto her, although that might be why he took her in instead of just killing her... so take the good with the bad?

Christopher Pettersson

I mean, I definitely think he projected a LOT of his own trauma and problems that he faced with Vander onto Jinx and I think his actions in the show back that up. And I think that "brainwashing" might not be the correct word, but "projection of trauma" is as applicable as "parenting," I feel. And not all "parenting" is positive or good. It's just a verb and describing an action. Anyway, language is fun! :)

Romaniablack

It's just that iv'e seen so many say Silco is using or/and brainwashing Jinx, but he believes in what he does and what he is teaching her. We just don't call it brainwashing when we teach or kids to help little old ladies over the street or not to kick puppies. We can find writings from long ago on how you would do your children a huge disservice if you didn't hit them, as many pople believed you couldn't grow up to proper adult if you didn't get a smack whenever you did something "wrong". So my point was whatever is considered "parenting" is somewhat subjective. Why was i even on this point? Was just from a sentence in a comment you read? Guess it was the straw that broke the camels back and i had to get it out. :) To make it clear i do think what Silco did to Jinx was mostly wrong but i would still call it (bad) parenting... from my point of view.

Christopher Pettersson

Right?! How can we all get along if they can’t! 😛 No worries about being “late” - I never consider folks late to the comment party! I….would not call all Silco’s…”training” as…parenting. I think that might be a false analogy in a sense. ;) Yeah, I’m still curious on Sky and what the show will give us with that! Poor Vi and Cait…I’m glad you know their positions/types haha! But honestly, I came into the discussion with a totally different view as I came out with Jayce - he’s still a lot of funny to make fun of and grumble at, of course. Thanks for the comment!

Romaniablack

Well... that reunion didn't quite go the way you would have hoped. If murder hobo Jayce and mechanical arcane Jesus can't get along what hope is there for the rest of us? Bit late to this one (Christmas and all that), i'll try to keep it brief as it's almost time for the next one. Still haven't watched the three last episodes but shouldn't be a week late to the next reaction :) Silco did try to impart his views onto Jinx, also known as... parenting? This is a world with magic and the Hexcore did absorb Sky so it could be her real consciousness, or an imprint/echo or perhaps just the mind of Viktor conjuring her up. Guess we'll see... or maybe not now that Jayce has made his opinion on hippie communes clear. Vi, a dedicated melee character got her ass handed to her by Cait. a ranged character. You need to step up your game here Vi, might be hard to set up under the current circumstances but perhaps you need to train under Ambessa too. I've seen that many doesn't really like Jayce, but to me, if one considers what information he had at hand at any moment, he mostly does sensible things. Now, with what he did here we don't know, but my guess is that he either had good reason or is influenced by someone/something else. If nothing else having a doctor/psychologist/spiritual healer/arcane Jesus that kills all former patients if he himself dies (did they die? maybe they all just screamed themself into sleep?) seems like a very bad idea.

Christopher Pettersson

*nervous laughter* Jayce really came in to squash this great family reunion moment, didn’t he? This episode - as you saw in the discussion haha - did a number on me too! Such insanity this week! I definitely loved how Vi and Powder were “connected” to this space. There’s just so much happening in this small area! I did love how Jinx and Vi were able to expand on their sibling bond here - this season has really given me all I wanted in that respect! Jinx and Isha’s moments have been soooo good throughout this! I love your analysis of Jinx in this! Its’ going to be very interesting to see what she does now that…Isha is probably gone, along with Vander/Warwick as well. 🙁 And yes, while at first, I was SO mad at Jayce, as the discussion with my brother went on, I realized that he probably has a “reason” for doing it, but the show does not give you time to really consider that at first in the moment. The soundtrack is lovely with this series, I agree! What a WILD way to end Act II and this is probably one of my favorite episodes in the series so far! I’m still reeling from it! Thank you for the comment and Merry Christmas to you as well! 😀

Romaniablack

Ahahaha, I wish you all could have seen him - eyebrow raised, nonchalantly munching popcorn and sipping his soda as I flail - we are very polar opposites in our personalities, so he was just eating up me breaking down this week! XD Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

Jayce is bound and determined to mess. it. up. Thank you for the comment! *sobs in corner*

Romaniablack

Ha! No, but seriously...y'all aren't wrong there! Thank you for the comment! *laughs nervously*

Romaniablack

Oohhh, I can't wait for you to make it here when you do - it's a FUN RIDE! But also, I hope you're enjoying Vinland Saga! I'm happy for any comments whenever - even if it's a year later, so no worries! Thanks for the comment on here!

Romaniablack

Ahhhh, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! WHAT AN EPISODE!

Romaniablack

Seeing you spend the whole discussion losing it over Viktor as your brother chows down popcorn was comedy gold😭

Savvybrunos

Jayce not fucking up everything challenge: impossible

AnNaNN

Don't you love how this episode ended with Vander/Warwick recovering his memories and embracing Vi, Jinx, and Isha while Caitlyn watched them, and then they all kicked Ambessa's butt? (The denial is so strong with this one) Why did Jayce have to come in a destroy everything? T_T The way this episode downright broke me after I watched it was not funny in the least... except to my brother (who still hasn't watched season 2) who loves Jayce and asked me how he was doing after I finished the episode and saw me having a full-blown mental break down XD Yeah, that was wild. Having this perfect little communal space that Viktor has created be where the undesirable and broken of Zaun ended, where Vi and Powder were born and used to live with their parents is quite the choice, and I love that. The representation of all that Viktor wanted to do was a strong, silent contrast with the last time we saw this place; and yet, we have them all being a hivemind, in the same place where addicts to shimmer ended when they were broken down because of the addiction. It's a fun juxtaposition, is all I'm saying. Seeing Vi and Jinx being sisters was everything I wanted for this show, and of course we couldn't have it for more than an episode or so. A common goal, and all the good Isha did Jinx, plus the time Vi needed to be able to accept that her little sister had changed, and be more ready to accept Jinx, and voilà, we have a relationship that could come to be something. Gosh, that conversation Jinx has with Isha is one of my favorites for this episode; how caring for her has made her put in these glasses that have made her look at the world differently. Jinx is, in my opinion, a character that always wanted someone to love her unconditionally, she had that with Vi as a little girl and then Vi had her breakdown after their world broke down and that destroyed Powder's sense of safety; then she had that with Silco, who weaponized it and twisted it to his own gain, and ended up losing it in a second of self-doubt and high-emotionality and trauma. And now, for the first time, she has gained it in the innocence of a little girl but, also for the first time, she has to provide it and that makes her see the world in a different lens and grow as a person in some significant ways that she was lacking; in a way, I think it gave her that sense of self-assuredness that she was lacking and just *self* in general that she sorely needed, being able to be the provider for once... and now she's lost it, amazing. Jayce can't help but wreck everything, can he? XD To be fair, we really don't know what's going on with him, but after this I have a few qualms with him *lol* "Remember Me", the song that plays when we see Vander's memories, is one song that can be counted on to make me cry whenever I listen to it, the lyrics are truly beautiful, and I recommend reading them if you ever have the chance. But, really, this whole soundtrack is gorgeous and has some beautiful lyrics, I've pretty much not listened to anything else since Arcane ended. This was quite the way to close arc 2, is all I'll say about it. I mean, it did have me in disbelieving, heartbroken tears. P.S. Since we're close enough, I wanted to say, Merry Christmas! I hope your holidays are a blast <3

Arcane: Here is a cute little baby, it's name is Power/Vi/Victor/Caitlyn/Isha, aren't they cute? *Punches baby repeatedly*

It'll be a while before I make it to these, but I'm looking forward to them, thanks for reacting! I am running through your Vinland Saga reactions which have been great, then I'll probably go Arcane S1 and Arcane S2 (which doesn't sound too far off but also juggling a ton of other current ones)! So sad I missed out week to week, but I'll get there eventually!

L Freya

I genuinely waited 10 months for this reaction. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
