NATSUME YUUJINCHOU Season 4: Episode 3 Reaction & Manga Vol 8 Review!

*LITTLE HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This series' tradition of ADORABLE yokai continues, but in a more "Gremlin" twist, as Natsume stumbles across an injured yokai that is not only cute but dangerous! Of course, this episode blends the horror with the humor and heart, and was a joy to watch!

Plus, I delve into Manga Volume 8 and have PLENTY to review! I hope you enjoy my rambles as I'm so invested in this season already!

NATSUME YUUJINCHOU Season 4: Episode 3 Reaction & Manga Vol 8 Review!

Comments

The aggressive cuteness of this little ball of fluff! I really love how Natsume is as a character and he's so different from other characters I've seen and I love that. And I love that we get to see his progress over the course of this series - it's very sweet! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! I am LOVING Season 4 so far!!

Loved the reaction & discussion! Another one of the yokai who activates the cute aggression. πŸ˜‚ I agree with all the parts in the discussion regarding how good it is to have a protagonist like Natsume, in comparison to how often trauma is used to just validate a character’s actions (often abhorrent). And I think too often creators put full stock in the β€˜hurt people – hurt people’ idea without nearly enough nuance. That idea may start from a place of empathy, but it is too often a copout and even more often a deliberate tactic to obfuscate abusive behaviours. Love to see Natsume actively learning. He never believes and fundamentally mistrusts, so he has to SEE an absolutely clear example to push him closer to the key idea of the episode: β€˜If I truly believe I’m not alone – maybe I can find the strength I seek by sharing my heart with others.’ πŸ₯° Looking forward to next week! πŸ’™
