Delicious in Dungeon: Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

 *HOLY HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This week's episode, we meet NEW characters that I'm SO intrigued about, but man - what a TEASE this episode was! Not only for the new characters, but giving us more information on Falin, the sister we're out to rescue!

Meanwhile, Senshi proves he's the GOAT of the series so far, not only in roasting dangerous bugs, but literally creating a ghoulish serving of "holier than thou" ice cream! Give me a pint, Senshi!

Delicious in Dungeon: Episode 5 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Ahh, thank you for the comment and kind words! Kabru and Laios - maybe it’s the dark hair/blonde hair dynamic, but I’m instantly wanting them to meet and TALK for real! “It’s a trap!” was definitely the mood for this episode! I like that Marcille has a flair for the dramatic, and I’d be right there with her about eating live bugs. Laios being so focused on his sword was so endearing! But yes, Kensuke being like Frodo’s sword - love the LOTR connections! Plus, Marcille and Senshi being like Legolas and Gimli in…ways, haha! And their different reactions always makes me smile in any of the situations they end up in! The little bits of Falin make me want to know more and more about her always. But also, her connection with Laios is PRECIOUS. They really have me in the palm of their hands! That is good to note about the end credits! Thank you! Yeah, I know friends that have made goat’s milk ice cream at our county fair, but it’s pretty intricate. That is neat to know about the ice cream making process - I don’t have a food processor (I am so no tech with cooking y’all) but if I got one, that would work! Someone did list a mason jar recipe for ice cream which I may have to try in the future! Yeah, I’m pretty torn about the “resurrection” aspect about this show and how the world-building just throws the comment away…we’ll see where the show takes it. But I do adore the characters and am curious where this series takes them! Thank you for the comment! 😀

Thank you for the VA information as always! :D

Forgot to mention seiyuu for Kabru's group: Kabru is voiced by Katou Wataru, but you've not seen any of the other anime he's voiced characters for. Rin is voiced by Takahashi Rie. She has also voiced Tako from Devilman: Crybaby; and one of Ainosuke's aunts from SK8. Mickbell's seiyuu is Tomita Miyu, who has also voiced Yamamoto's sister Akane from Haikyuu!!; and Michael Glenreed from Banana Fish. And the dog character's seiyuu is Nara Tooru. He has also voiced young Jiraiya from Naruto; Rikidou from Boku no Hero; and both Klaus and Koslow from Shingeki no Kyojin.

Ahahahaha - NO JOKE! This episode makes me glance at bugs in a new light...and jewelry as well! And yes, it was the joke that the gems were meaningless to him, but we the audience knows why Chilchuck and Marcille freaked out and that's what makes it so funny. And yes, I really like that we're getting more and more information about Falin as we go! Thank you so much for the comment and have a great New Year as well! Cheers!

Been waiting on you getting to this episode and meeting Kabru since they first got your attention in the Opening 😂 The pub fare definitely looks tasty! I do love that Kabru's group and Laios' have a lot of differences in terms of looks and their outlooks on entering the dungeon. I love that Kabru was all about them being careful, but you upon seeing the treasure immediately considered it could be a trap 😆 Definitely had me thinking of Star Wars' Admiral Ackbar. Marcille's reaction was a tad bit of an overreaction but I can completely understand the creepiness of a pearl necklace turning into a bug. But I'd definitely react the same way as Marcille with the idea of cooking the bugs 🤮 I just adore Laios testing out why his sword reacted the way it did. Also just adore that Marcille and Chilchuck were having a complete crisis over the lost gems and Senshi was so blase about them being real gems. But Laios wasn't paying one bit of attention to any of that. All his focus was right on his sword and naming it. Definitely feels quite neurodivergent with that pure focus on his interests. Glad Kensuke's reaction to the bugs also reminded you of Sting lighting up when orcs were near 💕 Falin really is too precious for this world! Her soft voice fits her soft nature so well too 🥰 Senshi really looks so goofy fighting the ghosts like that 🤣 I love him. Marcille and Chilchuck are concerned because of the fantasy elements the ingredients the sorbet was created from, Senshi's concerned about his sugar intake, and Laios just goes straight to eating 😆 I really adore how much they all watch how Laios reacts to eating all the food items before they try them for themselves (unless it's things they've already ate). Poor Laios! He needs his sister to help him with his communication skills 🥺 Completely get you on not knowing with the way Netflix's end credits are on if there is an after-credits scene. From what I can remember this season doesn't have such scenes. Ice-cream can be made without an ice-cream maker but it usually involves needing more ingredients and a more intensive process. An easier frozen dessert to make would be sorbet. It does require you to mix it every hour to break up the ice crystals, but it's a more relaxed process than making ice-cream. And sorbet only requires about three ingredients: fruit, caster sugar, and water. For making sorbet: 1. Dissolve sugar in water by gently heating and stirring, and then simmer for 5 minutes to form a syrup. 2. Prepare fruit and blitz in a food processor until smooth, then strain through a fine sieve into a bowl. 3. Combine the fruit purée with the sugar syrup then pour into a freezer-proof container. 4. Freeze for 1 hour 30 minutes, then whisk with a balloon whisk or a fork to break up any ice crystals and return to the freezer. 5. Keep mixing the sorbet once an hour for 4 hours to break up the ice crystals. Stop mixing when firm but scoopable. You know I'm down for the light/dark anime ship 😂🥰 I know you know now about the whole dying thing in the dungeon, but yup RIP Kabru's group! Quite a few people reacted similarly to you and it is a negative I would say about the show is that there wasn't enough exploration at the beginning on being able to resurrect in the dungeon. To leave it as an almost throwaway comment in the first episode (when Marcille is attacked by the slime) is just asking viewers to be confused by it. Definitely a fine line between the golden retriever himbo and disaster himbo. Laios, to me, is both depending on the situation he's in 🤣

I have seen where bugs are becoming more popular, especially ground into flour; I think that’d be the only way I could eat one haha! Thank you for the video links - I love learning about new types of foods that folks are eating out there! But ahhh, wait…have I read that about nerds before?! Hahah! Then, YES, I have had part of a bug! :P That’s wild, honestly! THAT EXPLAINS WHY NERDS LOOKED LIKE LITTLE BUGS. Wow. My 90’s kid mind is blown! Holy cow, that mason jar hack is AMAZING! I definitely want to try that in the future!! Now, that’s speaking my language! 😀The candy making totally works from the link you sent, it looks like - I definitely would be scared I’d put way too much or too little gelatin in the pot, but it’s good to know there IS a work around, haha!! Marcille’s joy at the sherbert was so cute! I just love all the tiny little moments with these characters; it’s very sweet! That’s awesome about being on vacation - sadly, I have to go back to work on the 2nd - of course, as it always happens, it went by too quickly and I didn’t get what I wanted completed around the house, but there was little notes of progress made at least! But yes, tomorrow on New Year’s hopefully will be a lazy good day! There is nothing better than “just yourself and a cup of coffee” - agree 100%! Thank you for the comment and kind words and enjoy the rest of your vacation!!

*AND AN ICE CREAM MAKER* That's the thing right there - yeah, sadly I don't have one of those, but who knows -- if Ice cream shows up again, maybe Patreon can fund one of those! Thank you for the comment!

Sadly, this has been flagged for spoilers - but thank you for the comment!

Ah yes, the episode that will make it so you can never look at a pearl necklace the same way again XP At least it leads to a cool and colorful snack I honestly don’t think Senshi saw a point in keeping the gems, so he didn’t think to warn them the rest were real. Senshi seems to get everything he needs from the ecosystems inherit in the dungeon, so he might not value money all that much. He brought vegetables to barter with those people in a previous episode, rather than any money like the ruffians clearly wanted. I always wondered if that was because Senshi didn’t have money at the time, or if he honestly saw the food as more valuable and assumed others would agree I also like the way we slowly learn about Falin through her party members. Helps her feel like a real character rather than just a goal to reach, which can happen in a set up like this. Thanks for the video! Happy New Year!

honestly, the holy water sorbet might be a fun thing to 'cook'. just need some nerd candies, some lemon gelatin mix. a little water, maybe some candy gems or rock candy for texture/variety, and an ice cream maker.

Zeekutar The Immortal

Let’s talk about food! Today, we go to Mexico! Well, I have never eaten a whole bug, to my knowledge. My mom grew up doing so occasionally when she took family trips to Mexico to visit her grandparents. She would eat ant eggs or escamoles when served to her. Apparently they are becoming popular here in the US. The video: https://youtu.be/FF62ss_CBlM?si=IFBUP40Xw0kX_I42 There are other foods that the Pre-Colombian people ate that are still consumed today! I actually would want to have these. My mom says they taste like potato chips, chapulines! The video: https://youtu.be/xiARY2gEOV0?si=ui_NGciMM68q3y0W Now for the kicker, if you have ever eaten a Nerd candy, you ate part of a bug at least. 😉 Yes, we are talking about a bug that has been worth its weight in gold, carmine from the cochineal bug! The video: https://youtu.be/iBNySB2jpVg?si=kK1G0mYwSbsFD_z7 I find it fascinating that these ancient indigenous foods are still around and are gaining in popularity or awareness. Now for something you can try, ice cream! I have not done this but I may give it a try. All you need is a mason jar! The video: https://youtu.be/BwUgf4GeCtg?si=nfSX-w2z5EB3y0tP I think it was an Ann Reardon video, I saw her husband try out making ice cream on a treadmill! 🤣 And it worked! When I rewatched this episode, I was like what the hell are you going to cook! 😅 Now I have seen videos that make the jewels out of agar agar. I really want to try and make those jewel candies but it looks like a lot of work! The video https://youtu.be/r8nCLh_cNHg?si=YcxUWkWpiphxgChh I love how you ship these characters! I don’t blame you! I love the new introduced characters, even if they are incapacitated! You can tell that Marcille is happy when she is swinging her feet while eating the sherbet! It makes me happy to see that, even if it is off the edge of a cliff! I’m still on vacation so I’m just chillin. Have I done anything? Well, lots of cooking for the fam with Husband, but other than that No! I’ve been enjoying myself! 😆 Sometimes you just have to have a pajama day. I’m having one today! No obligations except to myself and my cup of coffee! Loved your reactions and can’t wait to see what you are going to make next week!

For the name Kensuke… I read somewhere that’s the equivalent of swordbert.
