Oh no! How did I miss this comment! My bad! I really love that Laios and Marcille have named their weapons, too! Maybe Chilchuck will get in on that! ;) The frog suits are HYSTERICAL! The humor is just so good! But yeah, the morbidity of it is…there. And POOR Chilchuck - I felt for him not being able to move his arms in that suit! “Always getting the scraps!” :’) That is crazy about the cardigan - at least it was maybe fashionable? And yeah, being worried with how you look in front of someone is a clear sign of a ship ready to leave port! The Resurrection Office sounds like a Lost and Found and a Coroner’s Office! So bizarre! The political intrigue of the island is something that’s interesting as well! I’ll have to bring that up down the road in an intro! Seeing how tall the dragon was made me HIGHLY nervous with the success rate for them! I’m glad you found that funny! XD And Laios being focused on the mating habits of monsters…sir? Do you need to tell us something? Also, the dragon gave me DEFINITE Jurassic Park vibes! Oh my God…the Kensuke and Ambrosia shipping and their shapes. WELP. I mean, I’m going to post it for April Fool’s but apparently someone has made a fanfiction of Whiteboard-kun…I haven’t read it yet, but I’m scared of the implications. OMG, we don’t need to bring up Oikawa’s words to the third years just now! I gotta prepare myself for that! And this place giving definitely chocolate factory vibes! The ship of Kiki and Nemari is so canon for me, now! That would make sense with TikTok not giving you all the instructions and recipe parts…And yeah, about that red wine sauce and the increase in heat…put a pin in that for a later recipe. *chuckles nervously* My brother is a great cook so of course, frying comes easy to him. And yeah, White Gravy is such a staple in the midwest in the U.S. but I just cannot with it! And yeah, that frying fish story will be forever haunting me! I was NOT prepared for how EXPENSIVE olive oil is! I honestly could have gotten vegetable oil and will in the future, but I wanted to stick to the recipe, but yeah, this was really a sticker shock for me! I was glad that at least this week it didn’t get TOO out of hand with the cleanup! Thank you so much for the comment! Now…to fight a dragon!

Thank you for those kind words - I appreciate that! And that is such a nice way to navigate that - I appreciate your comment and explanation, there! Thank you!

Don't feel bad about not knowing all the nuances of every variation of fantasy/adventure. There's so much out there, it's impossible. Your knowledge of 'Lord of the Rings' and basic rpg tropes is more than enough. Honestly, this gives you a cleaner mental workspace to use. You are asking good questions at the right time, while those of us with piles of outdated and conflicting lore in our workspace often assume the wrong reason and get mislead.

I just love that both Laios and Marcille have named their weapons 😆 Also Chilchuck's main weapon I feel is being able to think and act in such situations. Marcille is just stuck on either side of arts & crafts and home economics 😂 I love that she was stuck trying to figure out who to debate first 🤣 Your laughter for their frog suits was exactly how I was when I first watched this. That image of them, especially Marcille's unimpressed face, is just perfect humour. I also love that Marcille's worry about the frog suits is how she's gonna look in front of Falin 😂🚢 The conversation with the lord of the island gives you such an interesting glimpse into the politics of this world, and a little more on the disparities between the various races and the negative opinions some races have about each other (just like we got with Marcille and the orcs). Considering the negative comments the lord of the island made about dwarves (and blaming them as the possible reason for orcs being on the higher floors), I do find it interesting that the disparagement of the elves isn't quite the same way, even though (from Tansu's research) it is likely elvish magic that created the dungeon in the first place. With the Resurrection Office having both bodies and items it feels like a mix of a Coroner's Office and a Lost & Found to me 😅 The whispers in the castle does make me think of going to some very old castles that have "ghost stories" attached to them because of the sounds you can hear as you go through the corridors. Your nervous laughter at them showing how tall the dragon is made me laugh so hard 🤣 But yeah being able to see that physical representation of the size of the Red Dragon is definitely terrifying. I questioned Laios about the same. His focus keeps shifting to the mating habits of monsters 😅 Basically Senshi made tonkatsu with frog meat instead of pork. It made me think of sports anime and teams eating tonkatsu as a wish for victory for their upcoming match. Though pairing it with a red wine sauce is different, and made me think of blood when I first watched this. But the way the fillet of frog looked it looked much more like chicken fillet. The plates rattling made me think of Jurassic Park with the cup of water rippling 😂 But yeah, definite shock for the Red Dragon already appearing. Your bringing up of the potential ship made me wonder: would shipping Kensuke and Ambrosia count as shipping inanimate objects together considering Kensuke houses the creature from the Living Armour? 🤔 Also NSFW brain came into play because of all the shows and stories I've read with swords representing phallic symbols, and then Ambrosia is a ring and so has a hole 🤦‍♀ Definitely wanted to bang my head against a wall after that thought popped into my head 😭 The morbid things of our childhood that we only consider when we're adults does honestly make me question so much more of my childhood and how I didn't think of things such as Mario in the frog suit being just like Laios and the gang here 😅 Congealed blood...yeah no thank you. I'd be right there with you with needing to plug my nose. I feel for Chilchuck in the mismatched frog skin. It is humorous, but as a fellow shortie I do feel for him. Also reminds me of my Nanny knitting her granddaughters cardigans for the summer, and even though I was the second oldest I was the smallest so I ended up with multicoloured cardigans made from all the leftover wool used in everyone else's. I didn't mind it too much because, like with Chilchuck's frog suit, it did require a lot more work on my Nanny's part to get it right so as it would fit. But definitely feels like the small ones get the short end of the stick when it comes to fashion 😆 Mad scientist definitely seems a suitable description for Laios 😆 Laios's words to everyone felt like very similar to Oikawa's goodbye to his fellow Third Years 🥺 Willy Wonka and the Damn Chocolate Dungeon 😂 Yes, several moments this episode reminded me of his chocolate factory too. Yes that blush with Nemari?? Definitely giving me ship feelings too 😁 All the Tall Man ships needing to get together to help dilute the blood did make me laugh 😂 From what I've seen of TikTok recipes they really aren't good at actually giving you a recipe you can follow with precise amounts. I liked you knocking would when your onions were going well. I can have issues with making red wine sauce because I always want to increase the heat to make it cook quicker 😅 Loved your brother's response of "set it on fire" for how he'd deal with the tentacles 😆 Your brother does make frying sounds so easy. I've only burned myself three times when cooking with oil and only one of those times was a pretty serious burn (though thankfully because I looked after it properly for six months and kept my arm covered up in the sun it did not scar), but yeah it can always be quite daunting especially if the oil spits. My test for of the oil is ready if to take a teaspoon of the batter and sprinkle a few panko breadcrumbs on top and then drizzle it into the oil. If it immediately stinks to the bottom the oil isn't hot enough. If it bubbles then it is, but if it bubbles and immediately rises to the top I've found that the oil is then too high to thoroughly cook my meat without the breading becoming overdone. As a Brit I gotta say white gravy does not look appetising. Though I do like white sauce but it's made with butter, flour, and milk. I laughed at your story about frying fish. Thankfully our smoke alarms going off don't automatically notify the fire brigade as I do often set it off just because of the smoke when cooking steaks. Olive oil has gotten seriously expensive. It's crazy. I trying not to use a lot when frying onions because of how expensive they are. Though for deep frying I use vegetable oil both for the temperature you can cook at and it's price. Clean-up after breading is a little nuts even though there isn't as much you need to do. Also I tend to get flour and breadcrumbs everywhere 😅 But I do coat the meat by hand and continually have to clean off my hands which definitely adds to the mess unfortunately.

The FROG SUITS, haha! That makes sense with the alligators and bird connection - it makes me think of Jurassic Park’s opening with the raptors and turkeys! ;) Oooohhh, I will have to look into this frying pot! The video made it look so easy to use! And this recipe sounds AMAZING! I’m definitely saving that one to try at some point! Oh, and a new sink is amazing! Last year, I got one for Christmas and it’s been so nice to have an update (my old one had been from the 80’s!) - thank you for the comment and kind words - yes, I was super excited because the chicken recipe actually worked fantastic! Onward to a dragon fight, I guess! 😀

Yessss, the meal today was so good! We grew up playing Mario 3 SO MUCH so the frog suits are cemented into our brain, haha! Ooohhh, now I’m picturing the walking mushrooms from earlier in the season as the toadstools! 😛 And yesss, Marcille getting distracted with what she was most mad about was a fantastic segway! Chilchuck too – I felt bad for him not being able to move his arms in that suit! I just love the party dynamics so much as well! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Romaniablack

Glad to see you ended up with a tasty meal today, especially the onions! This episode definitely put our party into Mario 3 frog suits, I loved that you and your brother both thought back to that but how we get to see the darker side of it here. Perhaps the toadstool people in the Mario games sterilize those frog suits for quick changing in and out of! I also enjoyed the part when Marcille complains she couldn't decide whether to stop Senshi's tentacle pasta or Laios' frog suit skinning, and then it was too late for either haha. I don't think I noticed Chilchuck being the odd one out either (in the sausage suit), poor Chilchuck! The party dynamics in this show are just so fun to watch, can't wait for more!

Those frog suits! 🤣 The reason that alligator tastes like chicken is because they are related. So….. all birds are avian dinosaurs. In a sense the dinosaurs did not die out, just the non avian ones did. Alligator and crocodiles are Archosaurs, so not dinosaurs but similar. Birds belong to a lot of clades, one of which is Dinosauria! A broody hen: https://youtu.be/5uYNTOpOhBo?si=SlGz9Dt4OzR0--HS tell me you don’t hear the raptor in that hiss! 🤣 So if you think about it, chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs is kind of funny. So, for dragon meat for a recipe, I suggest chicken breast! 🐉 We have a more traditional Japanese frying pot. It does a great job and it keeps the spitting oil in check! https://youtu.be/c4OOoNgZZic?si=Rq-u_HBGHNTmynJN igotmine from Amazon. The recipe for today: 5 spice chicken breasts! We have made this before and it’s very good! I like the taste of 5 spices to flavor dishes. 4 chicken breasts • 5 cloves garlic ((grated)) • 3 tablespoons water ((plus 1/2 cup, divided)) • 1 teaspoon salt • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar • 1 teaspoon white pepper • 1 teaspoon five spice powder • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce • 1 1/2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine • 1 teaspoon potato starch ((Plus ½ cup, divided. Traditionally, sweet potato starch is used; you can also use that, or cornstarch)) • vegetable oil ((for frying)) • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil • 1 dried red chili • 1 clove garlic ((chopped)) • 1/8 teaspoon sugar • 2-2.5 cups pickled mustard greens ((chopped)) • 1 small head napa cabbage ((washed and roughly chopped); can substitute any other leafy green)) • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 1 slice ginger ((optional)) • 3 cloves garlic ((sliced)) • salt ((to taste)) • 4-6 tea eggs • 6 cups cooked white rice Directions: you can use pork chops as well. First prepare the chicken. To avoid curling during frying, make 1-inch cuts around the perimeter of the chicken about 1-2 inches apart. After that, use a rolling pin to hammer the chops to a ½-inch thickness. It can help to put some parchment paper on top of the breasts to prevent splatter. Add them to a large bowl, and add the grated garlic, 3 tablespoons water, salt, sugar, white pepper, five spice powder, light soy sauce, wine, and 1 teaspoon potato starch. Mix thoroughly to coat the chicken breasts. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight. While your chicken breasts are marinating, you’ll want to prepare some other items. First, the tea eggs—if you’re only letting your chicken marinate for 3 hours, you’ll need to make the tea eggs the night before (you could also make plain hard-boiled eggs if pressed for time). You can also wash and chop the napa cabbage, and prepare your mustard green ingredients. You’ll also need to make rice! When you’re ready to fry the chicken breast, add the additional ½ cup water and ½ cup potato starch to the chicken breast, and toss them until they’re evenly coated in the resulting paste. In a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven, add about ¾ inch oil, and heat over medium high heat. When some of the marinade dipped into the hot oil sizzles vigorously, you’re ready to fry. Fry the pork chops one at a time, carefully lowering them into the hot oil so they lay completely flat. Fry for about 3 minutes on each side, lowering the heat to medium if needed. When you’re on the third or fourth chicken breast, if you are able, we recommend getting some kitchen help and sauteeing the mustard greens. Add 1 tablespoon oil to a hot wok until just smoking. Break the dried chili pepper in half and add it to the oil with the garlic. After 20 seconds, add the mustard greens and sugar. Stir until heated through (they should not take on any color). This quick process should take about 4-5 minutes. You’ll also need to stir-fry your choice of greens. Add another couple tablespoons oil to your wok, and heat until it’s just smoking. Add the ginger and garlic, let sizzle for 10-20 seconds, and follow with the cabbage. Cook until the cabbage is wilted, and season with salt to taste. On each plate, serve rice, a pile of cabbage, a healthy few spoonfuls of the mustard greens, a halved tea egg, and of course the chicken! Omg! What a busy day! We got a new sink in the kitchen! Now we can do more cooking easier! I’m so excited! 😆 Great reaction as always! And your chicken came out wonderfully! It looked so good!
