I cannot tell you all how 1.) much I love this series so far with the mystery and layers to its story and 2.) how much I am OBSESSED and simping already for BOTH of the leads!
I thought that Zhou Zishu had a tight grip on me but SIR. Wen KeXing is just eye-loving the camera to the FLOOR. I don't know if my sanity will survive this series!

There is SO MUCH immediate chemistry with ZZS and WKX, I LIVE! Chengling is adorable and so sweet around his would-be mentor ZZS! 😛Poor him with brothers who all have the same start to their names…And YES, I thought of the “ring around the rosy” song with the glazed armor song too! I’m naturally squeamish around veins, so it’ll take some adjustment…but that just means it’s effective. And OKAY, I was wondering what that sword reminded me of, but it’s Yao’s sword! Thank you! Love the paper money effect so much as well! The censors I think were blindfolded throughout this entire series so far, but I’m not going to complain one bit! WKX is channeling SQQ, HC, WWX, and LWJ all at once and I CANNOT. Gong Jun is just…*fans self* And yes to ZZS being like Aragorn, PLEASE. I love Gu Xiang just being a badass throughout this episode! I agree that the chemistry ZZH and WKX have is much different than MXTX protagonists, but not in a bad way at all. There is definitely a LOT to go through with this series, but you know how I love a good mystery and I appreciate that we have a LOT to cover in each episode! I count SQX as a female character! I really like Gu Xiang’s presence in this story already, though! Agreed! She’s such a little queen! And ahahahaha, I had not thought about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I can so see it now! And *cackles* I’m glad that Word of Honor is now associated forever with Egg McMuffins! 😛As it should be! Hahaha, thank you for the comment and kind words! SO READY for Episode 3!

For now as it’s not a crucial plot point (FOR NOW) I won’t correct Romania.. but when we will come to be more familiar with the Ghosts I will let her know!! 2025-02-03 21:17:05 +0000 UTCGu Xiang getting her whip wound in like she's a recalcitrant child. So much immediate chemistry in that first greeting between Zhou Zishou and Wen Ke Xing. Zhang Chengling is such a cutie. And I love how innocently sweet he is to Zhou Zishou. Rendezvous in the apricot trees? No let's fight dance with music playing and them looking at each other like that! 😆 But yeah, this was the point I went "Uh, censorship? Were the censors blindfolded and wearing earplugs when letting this scene pass??" 😂 Yeah just to confuse you, Zhang Chengling's brother's first names also start with Cheng 😅 The children singing about the Glazed Armour and several people taking notice of it reminds me a lot of children singing the nursery rhyme "Ring-a-ring-a-roses" during the Black Plague. I do have to say they did the vein effect so well, but yeah I can understand it making some people kinda squeamish. Zhou Zishou's sword is similar to Jin Guangyao's sword in Mo Dao Zu Shi in the way that it can bend. The paper money being used in that way is such a cool effect. And so fitting for the Ghost Valley guys to use. The reveal of Wen Ke Xing just slouching back in that circle, flapping his fan and drinking...Zhou Zishou is definitely a stronger man than us both. Gu Xiang's entrance 😍 And she's such a nonchalant badass against all those opponents makes me love her so much more. I also love that you want Wen Ke Xing to appear before that moment, but then comes in our girl who don't need no man 🤣 Wen Ke Xing though only comes in at the opportune time! 😏 The old man is such a good actor, especially for that death scene. And for a character you literally just met a few minutes ago they did enough to make you truly feel for him and like him as a character. Romania: Zhou being like Strider, yes please! Get this man a door to slam open 😍😂 Gong Jun, Wen Ke Xing's actor, really is so expressive with his face, but especially his eyes 🤩 I love in the space of an episode Gu Xiang has gone from happily pointing out she got called "Kind lady" to wanting to be a little less formal with Zhou Zishou and be referred to by name. I felt the same after this episode. The power and UST both Zhou Zishou and Wen Ke Xing exude? 😍 It's definitely a different kind of dynamic than Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's protagonists. Yeah with The Untamed by already watching the donghua you had a good gist of the characters and background, which meant it wasn't as intensive trying to keep up with the information thrown at you in The Untamed for setting the scene and setting up the characters. Going into this blind, because so much has happened in Episode 1 and 2, and so much information is thrown at you, I do think it better to watch a single episode at a time to help that information sink in and to understand it a little better. My favourite female character from the danmei you've also seen would probably be Shi Qingxuan (if their female form can count). There are a lot of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu female characters I love, but the issue I find with her female characters is that a lot of them aren't very present in much of the story. Gu Xiang though would probably be my second favourite female character, though it did take until this episode for me to personally warm-up a lot to her and start declaring her as my queen 😆 With watching your reaction I've realised what the ghosts remind me of with the way they glide. I don't know if you've seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer but there was a terrifying creature in it called The Gentlemen who moved in the same way. Definitely a very creepy way of moving around. The eye-effing is strong in this episode and worthy of the cursing 🤣 Romania: Please eat my egg McMuffin please I will now no longer be able to watch McDonald's adverts that show McMuffins or go into a McDonald's without thinking of this scene now 🤣 Excited for your continued simping 😆

MODS THIS MESSAGE IS FOR YOU THIS IS A BIT SPOILERY please read this and if there’s info in this that you think is okay please let Romania know whenever you think is best I just wanted to mention this incase she gets confused later but the “ghosts” from Ghost valley in this show aren’t actual dead people or spirits like she seems to think and that’s like not supposed to be a mystery in the show I’m just not sure they make it very clear in the English translation that they are actual people. Ghosts is a metaphor. They have to leave their “human” or worldly life behind to live at Ghost Valley, which is thought to be a place for evil people. Usually, the Valley is closed to prevent people from escaping. So, these people become “ghosts” because they forsake their former lives. I don’t know if this counts as a spoiler though because it’s not like there’s a twist or misdirection, you’re not supposed to think these people are dead or spirits and I feel like it could be confusing down the line if she doesn’t know that
