We have a part three to Natsume's journey to his childhood home, and this series...it runs on my tears, doesn't it? I promised myself I wouldn't cry, too...
Season 4 has been my favorite so far, but I'm excited to dive into some OVA's and talk about the Season 4 manga, and the go full throttle into season 5, y'all! This series just gets better and better for me!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! And yes, I love this Corgi sweater so muchhhh!! Oh wow, yeah, this episode was so much! And that feeling of re-entering a space when you’re older vs. when you were a kid - that’s such a great point! HAHAHAHA, I’ve gotten comments in the past that have told me I need to be more “open minded” to children and that fact, but yeah, for Miyoko it’s REALLY hard when she’s that narrow minded and awful towards Natsume, who is a literal angel incarnate. And I love how you talk about Natsume being an example of reflection and being kind – it’s just so wonderful to see for a character like that! Oh, I am EXCITED for the next two weeks and the OVA’s to come - and I’m even more excited to start season 5! Huzzah!! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

And the adorable corgi jumper. 🥰 I should have taken a blood pressure pill before watching this ep, to be honest. 😂 I really liked the panning shots of the house – especially ‘cause the last time Natsume was in the house he was so tiny. The fact that they don’t really use this type of tilting first person perspective often makes it so much more impactful. I love when shows find ways to make quite basic and easy techniques have emotional heft. Excellent discussion especially around cumulative experiences, memory, negativity sticking in ours minds. I do try to give Miyoko some grace but I fail… I know she is maybe 8-9 and Yuriko was older maybe 15-16 – but damn, congrats show for successfully being able to make me despise a bunch of small children on a regular basis. 😂 I think the show is so good at reinforcing the importance of self-reflection. If the first impulse is to be unkind – reflect why and try to act differently. And then we are shown the example in Natsume – an intense, self-sacrificing kindness which is also not that healthy, and how this is amplified by the others around him profoundly lacking introspection. Really happy to hear that the show continues to get better for you. 🥰 Looking forward to next week! Onwards and upwards. 💙
