 *RESURRECTED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I had many theories about this "resurrection" as it happened, but I could NOT have predicted the route this was going to go on! PLUS, Marcille jumped up HIGH on my list this episode and Laios cemented himself as "Best Brother" in anime for me! I love him!

I also start "Part One" of my cooking journey this week! Let's prep some dough and steaks, shall we?! Recipes from Isekai Kitchen; link will be in Episode 13 and in the Full Menu video on Patreon!

Delicious in Dungeon: Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Yes, the process of piecing together the skeletons is so interesting! I took them putting the skeleton together more as being super careful and delicate/reverent than emotionless, so that’s an interesting perspective - I took them as being super cautious because it’s Falin, but that’s fascinating, too! But yes, definitely some dark humor, there! But yeah, forbidden magic? *New York Accent* Don’t worry about it! 😛The way they did the tasteful nudity with Falin worked so well! AND THE BATH SCENNNNNEEEE! YES! I could relate to the scar-scratching, too! I had a mole on my back removed last year (all clear) but the scar itched for a good 3 months afterwards. I agree, though, that the bath scene is just tasteful nudity; it’s not really sexual at all. Agreed, though, the bed scene was a little more suggestive on Marcille’s part, haha! And yes, we’ll just ignore past episode 4 of the last season - Jaime is totally with Brienne as he should be! But I love the way that body image is presented in this series! Senshi is not about to waste this precious dragon meat! The fuel bag callback was insanely clever! But I love the sibling moments with Laios and Falin as well! They really are so similar in many ways! But yes, there is a lot of “need to know” information thrown about in this series! Honestly, the sibling hug is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show so far as well! But yeah, we got distracted by siblings and lesbian lovers to remember the ONE JOB WE HAD TO DO! Honestly the gore in this show is handled really well without being grotesque! I’ve heard SO many good things about Merlin! It also gives me Arcane vibes! Can we apply Schrodinger’s cannibalism to Vein from Link Click as well? The way you sear the steak sounds like what the recipe I had recommended! Maybe they recommended the wine to add to the stock to begin with! I was proud to make dough for once! I kept thinking of the Great British Baking Show - they make it look SO EASY! That’s interesting to know about Japanese pizza and the one you make sounds great!! I will also be so curious as to why everyone just didn’t go with one measuring system but it is what it is - that’s so interesting on your end, though! I will say, wearing gloves would have been a good idea - the feeling of dough on your fingers or under your nails is kind of gross! That is a fair point about the proving drawer and thank you! I was happy with how the dough balls turned out! AHAHAHA - the question with Senshi’s natural hair color is…who’s the one finding out? Chilchuck? Someone else? 😛 As to how it all turns out…*nervous laugh* we’ll see soon! But anyway, thank you so much for the comment and kind words!

The pizza segment is uhmmm a fun time – I’m glad that the dough so far is okay…more on that this coming week! I LOVE this episode! So far, episodes 11-13 *dark laugh* are maybe my favorites of the series – it’s so insane and I love it and it just went 120%! Laios was SO instantly down for the dark magic! But we know why Marcille and him were on board with such insane spells – I love how they worked together here to help reconstruct Falin - and Marcille – I hate to associate her with the NRA, but I do get what she means and it makes sense. And yeah, she brings up some amazing points! The bath scene was perfect shipping fodder and I was eating it up! And it stays wholesome, I mean, Marcille revers Falin so much, she wouldn’t hurt her! But I’m so glad my quote made the books! Next episode is going to be WILD and I cannot wait! Thank you for the comment and kind words!!

YES, I love that the crew had to put in the work to get the skeleton assembled rather than do it through magic, I really like that it shows how considerate Marcille and Laios especially are - normally Marcille would have magic do some of the work for her, but when it’s a person they are so deeply caring of, it requires more “TLC.” The process is important and shortcuts won’t work always. And of course, Laios knows dogs more than people! Falin is such a sister in this episode with Laios! I definitely give it a pass because they’ve been reunited but honestly, sometimes, you get giddy and fangirl around your sibling even as adults, so I get her actions in this episode. AHAHAHAHA - COULD YOU IMAGINE if Marcille showed Frieren the resurrection magic. Now, would Frieren actually use it? I’m not sure, considering her constitution, but what an encounter and conversation that could be! But also, yes, the ship is already made, christened, setting out to sea – I refuse to believe that Marcille and Falin are not canon. I’m 100% in for them! Thank you for the comment!!

Romaniablack

I love the idea of the skeletons being reconstructed! I loved Jurassic Park and archeology as a kid, so I’m right there with you! And like you said, that they can identify it instantly! That is TALENT to me! But yeah, hopefully that type of knowledge and passion stays in our world! But yeah, no, I feel you on the hard week! I’ve done a lot of escapism into the shows on this channel, that is for CERTAIN. AND HAHAHAHAHA – Why yes, education is crucial! Especially if you want to resurrect your girlfriend! The elf honestly looks terrifying, much more so than with the paintings the first go round! That honestly is a SHAME that a cut of meat that was once inexpensive is suddenly overpriced. 🙁Now, I have had skirt steak in fajitas before and that’s hilarious about your grandmother’s reaction! And yes, food is CERTAINLY political! Now, I like a lobster bisque, but honestly, I’m not a big lobster fan - it’s like crab legs - a lot of work for not much reward meat-wise, haha!! The pizza dough…is a thing! Hahaha, there will be thoughts I’m SURE as next week the kitchen is CHAOS! But I hope you enjoy and thank you for the comment and kind words!!

Romaniablack

RIGHT?! That is honestly hilarious!! *nervous chuckle* "It's a cute comedy cooking show guys!" *chuckles nervously some more* Thank you for the comment!

IIRC, in the manga it even gets a nutrition chart.

OMG the pizza segment turned bonkers, haha, and yes you better not manage to create poisonous pizza dough, you're not Maomao! Episode 12, Red Dragon 2, I have been waiting for this one! We're here! I remember the first time watching this show - I liked it, but didn't know what to make of it (was it just a fantasy cooking show or what), until this episode, after which I knew I was 100% on board! It is so good! Now I love it even more re-watching it. Laios with the zero hesitation about the dark magic resurrection was perfect, I bet the cost could been anything and he'd have paid it just as quickly - yup, he's that amazing! Marcille with the need-to-know basis on Dark Magic, haha. Laios' "Hint please!" to Marcille after her explanation of how bones connect, and him getting frustrated with not moving fast enough is so hilarious. Dark Magic, Dark Humor, it's all here! We even have Marcille with NRA logic too, magic is not good or bad, it's how the person is using it! As she explains, even healing magic can be used to hurt someone! I was not expecting to get the bath scene, though I can't blame Marcille, who wouldn't want their crush to be with them naked in a hot tub right? It's played for a few laughs and I like that stays relatively wholesome, given the circumstances, I mean how many anime really just throw two characters together with no clothes in a bath out of the blue - well, maybe more than I realize! And we get Senshi crotch shots a plenty, so there's that! "Did Marcille's lesbian love make Falin OP off dragon's blood?" there's a good one for the bag of Romania quotes, I enjoyed that! Great reaction and discussion!

I love that the "putting your party member's skeleton back together" segment is structured just like a cooking segment! It's a cute comedy cooking show guys!

Gotta love Laios' enthusiasm to piece the skeletons together. To be fair to him piecing together the warg skeletons would definitely help them distinguish the human from animal remains more easily. But the way Laios and Marcille aren't emotionally-charged when piecing together the skeleton makes me think about how Senshi said that not being able to die in the dungeon is unnatural. Because of this it does affect how people entering the dungeon have come to think of death. For us I feel it would be unthinkable to hold the skull of a family member/loved one and then immediately go about fitting together their bones to make their skeleton, but perhaps because death within the dungeon doesn't hold the same meaning Laios and Marcille are able to just emotionlessly focus on building Falin's skeleton. The dark humour of how they presented the skeletons though made me laugh so hard. It definitely adds a little bit of levity to a moment that, as the audience, we could be freaking out over how blasé both Laios and Marcille are being over the remains 😅 The Fullmetal Alchemist comment made me laugh. Yeah human transmutation is fine. As is forbidden magic. Not anything bad about either of them 🤷‍♀ I really love the realistic aspect though of her being naked, covered in blood, and even choking on the blood when first resurrected. Also Falin's slow way of speaking and realising what has happened makes a lot of sense. Getting resurrected like that has gotta be hard to wrap your brain around, and the effect on Falin seems a little similar to how some patients can be after they've woken up from surgery or a coma. With how on board you were with our dear Falin and Marcille ship I couldn't wait to see how you'd react to this whole bath scene. So many shipping moments 🥰 I related so much to Laios scratching his scar. Definitely had that annoying feeling before. Now if only I could have my own Falin to swiftly heal such injuries 😅 Waste not want not. I love Senshi's outlook in that regard. If the dragon is burning then might as well convert it into our own large pizza oven 🤣 But the idea of the fuel bag igniting because of how they cut into the dragon in their search for Falin is pretty clever. Laios and Falin are such siblings 🤣 I love Marcille was worried about how Falin would react, but Falin and Laios are just two peas in a pod. I think Marcille was hoping to have someone else to back her up when Senshi and Laios went a little crazy on trying different monsters. Chilchuck just calling Laios out on Kensuke's existence after swigging on his wine 😂 I love the droll way he says to Laios that it would be easier to show her. Also another moment of us being on a need-to-know because it wasn't until that point that we discovered that Chilchuck was aware of what was in Laios' sword. The sibling hug is definitely one of my favourite scenes 🥺 This show really does an excellent portrayal of a sibling relationship. Especially with the similarities and differences they each have with the other. And the older brother telling off his younger sister after the dust has somewhat settled is definitely accurate. All the mentions of removing the magic circle, and therefore hiding what magic Marcille did, only for them to fail at the clean-up 🤦‍♀ The detail of the blood on their hands and face, and even the detail of the blood having dried in places and being a different colour, is so good. This show does not shy away from such gore and depicts sifting through a monster's carcass in a fairly realistic manner. The comment about magic not being good or evil does remind me a lot of the BBC TV show Merlin. The idea that magic, just like a blade or any other weapon, simply is and it is the hands of those that wield the magic that decide if the magic used is good, evil, or somewhere in between. For example, Marcille's spell to light a fire is good to help them see, to keep them warm, and to cook with, but fire can also be used as a weapon to burn someone or something, just as Senshi's flint to do the same can be used in a similar fashion. Hundred percent agree on the tastefulness of the nudity this episode, and all of my praise goes to the studio for managing to do that. I do have a little bit of annoyance towards Netflix with their content warning by describing it as "sexual images" instead of "nudity". Whilst my shipper heart does adore the bath scene between Marcille and Falin I don't see anything inherently sexual about it. It read to me as a very caring, sweet, and emotional scene. Now the bed scene I could read as there being a slight sexual undertone to it, but I wouldn't say it counts as sexual images. I guess it just feels a little off to me that Falin drenched in blood, or a bath scene between two women, would count as sexual rather than simple nudity. As for the Game of Thrones comment, what do you mean Jaime totally stayed with Brienne and didn't go off to be at Cersei's side...I have blanked that whole plot and destruction of his character growth from happening 😢 But yes the scene between Marcille and Falin is very reminiscent of that scene between Jaime and Brienne 🥺 I love the range we also get for body sizes and types with this series. Both for male and female characters, but more especially for female characters because I do feel such variety is less common for women in many forms of media but particularly anime. Romania: It's like Schrödinger's cannibalism. Now is that a term you ever thought an anime would have you say?? 🤣 I'm the same when it comes to steaks. Medium-rare or medium for me. What Senshi served looked more like a blue steak and that is a big nope for me. My Mum though needs to have it "well done and a bit" as I call it. When cooking steak for her I sear it in a pan for two minutes each side, then cook it in the oven for fifteen minutes, and then another searing of one minute on each side. But if there is even a hint of pink she can't eat it. Okay but when you suggested Senshi has a secret that he's not a natural brunette my immediate thought went to his panty shot this episode and how if that was true that's how they'd learn such knowledge 🤦‍♀ Considering the cost of living I do the exact same as you and just use what stock and herbs I have in my kitchen rather than buy new stuff that the recipe calls for. Chicken stock I find isn't just as rich as beef stock so I usually throw in a few tablespoons of red wine to help with the flavour. As someone who has made a few different types of dough I would definitely say that just using bread flour is far easier than trying to do any kind of combination of flours. As for the yeast substitution I think with it being a pizza dough substituting for baking powder will be fine. When making my own pizza at home I buy my pizza bases so good on you for making it from scratch! I have found pizza in Japan is on the, um, strange side to put it politely 😂 Some of the toppings and combinations I've seen I am pretty sure I'll never see anywhere else in the world. And I believe that's partially why there isn't a sauce like a marinara for the pizza Senshi made. My Mum and her partner don't particularly like pizza but they do like the version I make that also doesn't have any sauce. Instead there is garlic and rosemary butter partially cooked into the base before I add the toppings and then a lavish amount of grated mozzarella on top of that. Some recipes I've used I've had the opposite issue were they have been American and therefore in imperial. Last year I finally bought myself measuring cups so as I didn't have the hassle of continually having to convert things into grams 😂 The weird thing about the UK though, or at least Northern Ireland, is that whilst we do use the metric system for a lot of things some things are still done by the imperial system. For example we talk about distance between towns etc. in terms of miles. And depending on your generation height is by feet and inches, and weight is by stones and pounds (also weight of meat in the butchers is typically done by pounds but advertised and sold on receipts as grams/kilograms). The younger generations though know their height and weight by the metric system, i.e. centimetres and kilograms. And that's how our information is now recorded by medical practitioners so many people my generation and older tend to ask doctors and nurses what that converts to "in old money" (the phrase used here to describe what kilograms equals in stones and pounds, and centimetres equals in feet and inches) 🤣 There is only one time that I wear an apron and that's when my cooking involves flour because it really does just get everywhere. Also I typically use my latex gloves when any cooking/baking includes needing to use my hands to mix. But especially so when it's something like dough or breadcrumbs because I hate the feeling of the flour or bread beneath my nails 😆 Kneading is hard. More so for me because the height our counter is is a little too high for me to really be able to put my weight down into my hands. Personally I find if you make your hands into fists and then use the base of your palm, just above your inner wrist, to work the dough it makes it a little easier. Your dough balls definitely look great! The reason for putting them in bowls and covering with clingfilm is to give them space to expand and keep out any contaminates. If you can keep your kitchen a relatively even temperature then a proving drawer is not a necessity for making bread. I also think that the proving drawers used in the GBBO could be to help prove the dough quicker than just leaving it to rest on the counter or in a normal cupboard/drawer. Looking forward to next week and seeing how your pizza and steak turns out!

Anime Annie

I like that they actually had to put in some work to figure out which bones where which before they could get to the spell casting part. Most shows would just have Marcille casting the spell and Falin putting herself back together magically; just like with its cooking, this show really likes the idea of 'process' it doesn't take shortcuts. And Laios knowing dog bone anatomy better than human's? of course that's the case. Falin getting excited about all the monster dishes they had on their way was so cute and such a younger sibling thing, it's more of a childhood stage thing but can't really blame them for regressing a bit into that stage when they're reuniting after such dramatic circumstances. And Maricille & Falin... no way it isn't a canon ship. Frieren could learn a thing or two from her fellow elf: "What do you mean 'til death do us part?' I'm bringing you back damn it."

I was fascinated by the reconstruction of the skeletons. I have a love for archeology and hence my fossil fascination. I’ve always found it amazing that people could tell what type of bone they have based on where it was found and what geologic layer it resided in. When an archaeologist finds a wrist bone they know what it is! To me, it’s a rock! Hahahaha! My hats off to the years of education and experience to be able to determine what that rock is. My hope is we don’t throw all of this in the bin because of stupidity and agendas. Got on my soap box briefly there….. ITS BEEN A HARD WEEK! ITS FINE! 🔥🤪 🔥 it just proves, you need an education to do dark magic to bring your girl friend back from the dead! Seeeeeeee?!? An education is necessary! What a cliffhanger with that dark elf! Looks like some trouble is around the corner now that the dragon is well, an ex dragon! Steak, pizza, and oxtail soup! Now, oxtail used to be one of those cuts of meat that was a cheap cut so many ethnicities utilized in their dishes. Now that the secret is out, it’s too expensive for many people who ate it for years in traditional dishes. This is a shame really. One dish that I can remember this happening to is fajitas. It’s skirt steak which is a tough cut of meat. It was apparently a cheaper cut barbecued by vaqueros or ranch hands. When it became popular as a dish, my grandmother was a bit mortified that this trash cut of meat would be so popular! I always thought that was a strange take since we are Hispanic. But, unfortunately, prejudice runs rampant in every culture, in this case classism. Another example of food that was given to the poor only to be reclaimed by the rich is lobster. Yes, food itself can be political. Unfortunately! Ok, enough babbling about things I have no control over! Hahahaha! Still thinking of a recipe to share. Loved this reaction and looking forward to the cooking video! Also, I have thoughts on your pizza dough! 😊
