Land of the Lustrous: Manga Volume 7 Reaction!

*LOBOTOMIZED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I was NOT READY for this volume! Phos has lost their head and the gems have a possible solution...but will the result keep Phos as they are? Or are they going to become someone else entirely?!

This volume had so many twists and turns...I was not prepared and now I am terrified...so....let's talk about that, shall we?!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Land of the Lustrous: Manga Volume 7 Reaction!

Even if you had told me Phos was going to the moon, I would not have expected it this way! The time jump was WILD - it really just hits so hard how much time passes and seems like NOTHING for these gemstones! There’s a lot I want to say about Cairngorm but I’ll wait and see what the manga gives us, but yeah, several of these gems have shown signs of being okay with self harm and it is…alarming, isn’t it? I agree that Lapis Lazuli is so pretty! I would have liked the long hair to have stuck around a bit longer, but alas…it’s not Phos’s style. T-T The DOCTOR showing up was insane and so creepy! It looked like something out of a horror anime! And yeah…we get a few answers but a dozen more questions! Now that we’re going to where we thought we’d never go…now what? This manga is a ROLLER COASTER and I feel we’re just getting to the top of the first hill! Thank you so much for the comment!

Way back when, when I first finished this anime, I got ONE single spoiler, by complete accident, and that was this, that Phos would, somehow and for some reason go to the moon; of course, I could never have dreamt that this is how things would have panned out for it to happen. First of all... THAT TIME JUMP WAS INSANE AND IT MADE ME DO A DOUBLE TAKE. With the gemstones being eternal and unchanging, the openig moments with everything being so much the same and, thus, almost impossible to recognize the passage of time until they, themselves, mention it is really well done. And then we have how, for Phos, it means that they have changed so much. The scene with Cairngorm offering their own head to fix Phos... that was terrifying in its own right. Is Phos' mentality catching? Cause that felt like something Phos would have done. On a completely different tone, Lapis Lazuli is gorgeous and Phos looked so good with the long hair in a ponytail, I mourned her hair getting cut so much XD Not that it matters much, but still. The appearance of this "doctor" and Sensei's reaction were BONKERS. What even was that thing? At least it did prompt Sensei to tell us that he is not human, though that leaves me fresh out of ideas as to what he is, or who he is. And now, Phos is on the moon, or way on their way, and I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. But I am anxious to see what we find out there.

Ahhhh, yes, Oh my! This volume was WILD – And that’s good to know about the pyrite - FOOLS GOLD – AHH! The body horror, the unease, the humor but then it ends with such ominous mysteriousness? Eeeeeep! I think I was thinking of surgery that has affected the brain and changed their personality, like the example you pointed out! And yes, I was familiar with organ rejection as well! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *laughs darkly* The Rule of 8…yeah, I don’t think it’s letting us down! I definitely (after the volume I just read - won’t reveal that yet) will be rereading the series and making SEVERAL notes before moving forward, so yeah…this manga is giving me so much to think about and enjoy! Thank you for the comment!

We are going to the moon! 🚀 this is indeed a fun volume! For Lapis, I believe those sparkling triangle are pyrite. Pyrite is of course, fools gold! https://images.app.goo.gl/J6m8MR1PhPm2DzZ37 I’d have to agree with your student, this is one of my favorite volumes! Despite the body horror and the feeling of unease with not trusting Kongo Sensei, there is a tread of light hearted humor throughout the story. Well, we don’t do brain transplants. Now behavior can change due to surgery or damage done to the brain. One famous case is that of Phineas Gage, the man with a hole in his head. https://youtu.be/ZKaDWu2zFG0?si=DRTO3cGpdHhR5zWp Now just like the gems, apparently, when there is an organ transplant in humans, the tissue has to be compatible. If they are not, you can experience rejection. Even if tissue is compatible, anti rejection medication has to be taken as well. Rule of 8! 😈 let’s see what this brings us! And thank you again for reading this to us. This will be my fourth time reading this manga and I enjoy it every time I read it!
