Third Person POV
Land of Water.
...
...
Kimimaro was walking quietly as he headed for the Hokage's office after being summoned. He entered while a woman said she would speak with Mei-Sama to receive him. As soon as he got the confirmation, Kimimaro proceeded inside the place.
As he entered, he found the woman seated behind her desk, looking at some scrolls as Kimimaro approached.
"You're here..." Mei commented, setting aside the paper she was reading while waiting for the boy to come closer.
"Yes... Mei-Sama..." He spoke calmly.
"That's good... we have a mission for you, everything you need is in this scroll," Mei remarked, handing him a sealed scroll.
Kimimaro took it and began to read it right there. "This..." Kimimaro couldn't help but be even more surprised by what he was reading, as there was a mission for him.
"That means..." He said.
"Yes... you will be sent to the Land of Fire," Mei spoke. "You will be assigned as the jonin of a team to represent Kiri in the Konoha chunin exams," she explained.
Kimimaro looked at her still surprised. "Naruto would..." He was about to speak, but was interrupted by the woman.
"It was Naruto who asked to put you on this mission. He wants you to do this. It's time for you to have your own team," Mei said, beginning to pick up another scroll on the desk.
Despite Kimimaro being quite surprised by this, he nodded in the end without protesting much, he was just a bit confused, but since Naruto asked, he wouldn't complain. Then he waited for Mei to pick up a sealed scroll on her desk.
"Here are your students. I want you to meet them today, get to know them and start training them for the chunin exam, you only have a few days before departing to the Land of Fire..." she requested, and Kimimaro nodded, taking the scroll and beginning to read it as well.
"If you see, the girl there, was picked up by Naruto a week ago and I've been talking with her and her former partner every day until they agreed to integrate into the village. She is still getting used to how things work in a village. So just take it easy on her, she's like you, the last member of the Yuki clan," Mei said, while Kimimaro nodded, leaving the office after that.
Kimimaro, without wasting any time, even having a few hours before the meeting, headed to one of the Kiri training fields, where he would meet his future students later.
Kimimaro felt a bit strange about this, after all he had been living a quiet life, there were no more enemies, or even mercenary missions like he was used to with Naruto, after the village was established, he is settled in his old clan, trying to take care of things, but now it was much lonelier for him, Naruto was involved with all the important things of the village, while even helping with his projects at the Kiri ninja academy, which was very good in Kimimaro's opinion, after all the village seemed to finally be going in the right direction.
So knowing that he would be on a mission was surprising, but at the same time determined to complete it, returning again to that country where he lived for a while and was even healed by that medic.
As he continued to think about this, time passed and the moment his students appeared finally arrived. With the first emerging through the mist of the forest as a boy Kimimaro knew well, finally appeared.
"Kimimaro-Sensei!!" The boy greeted him approaching while another one came soon after.
"Iryn! It's good to see you again... so you finally graduated," Kimimaro spoke.
"Yes... it was a surprise when the teachers informed me of my test, I expected to stay another year, as even with 12 years, I started practicing the jutsus very late..." The boy spoke and Kimimaro nodded.
"I understand... anyway, we'll talk more later... now you." Kimimaro turned to the second student, a boy also with red hair.
"I'm Ikua Terumi..." He greeted, having a shy look, staying silent afterward not wanting to talk much.
"Hello, Ikua, I have your record. We'll talk soon," Kimimaro greeted the boy from Mei's clan, as he looked back at the fog, with a third figure emerging.
The girl walked up to them with a slightly shy but firm look, trying to appear at least. "You must be Haku Yuki," he said.
The girl nodded as she approached with a neutral face. "Yes," was all she said.
At that moment, Haku's life had been a roller coaster. A few years ago, she lived a miserable life, and shortly after, she was taken off the streets, receiving a new chance at life with training from Zabuza. She continued to carry out her missions with her master, no matter how dark things were, and now she was there, after having been captured and sent back to Kiri, where her clan had been exterminated and her hand, being forced to leave this country.
But in the end, Mei talked with her and her master, who ended up agreeing to return to the village. Now, seeing that the village known as "The Bloody Mist" had been destroyed. Now she was here, to meet a new team she would participate in, despite not liking to be away from her master.
Kimimaro looked at each of them, before continuing. "Well, now that everyone is gathered, let's start with the introductions," he suggested, creating some bones from the ground in the shape of chairs for everyone to sit on.
The boy from the Terumi clan was a bit scared of that, while Iryn seemed excited and was the first to sit on one of the bones. Haku, although surprised, sat down soon after with a neutral face.
Kimimaro then sat in front of them, maintaining a closed and forced smile, still not knowing how to handle this right and looked a bit lost, after all, he was not used to this kind of thing.
"Well, let's be honest, taking you as students was a surprise to me. However, now we're here and I intend to help you, despite my young age not much different from yours, I've already participated in many fights," Kimimaro said, after all, he was 15 years old. "I can help you become strong and work as a team," he said in the end.
While each of those teenagers had a thought, it was Iryn Dokugiri who broke the silence. "Yes, you fought several times with Naruto! Moreover, will he train us too?" the boy asked excitedly.
Kimimaro sighed at that, as it was no secret that this boy had a great admiration for Naruto since he met him, saving him at a port and even talking to him, giving an answer when he asked how he could become as strong as Naruto.
Meanwhile, the little boy seemed a bit excited about it too, as he was another boy who admired the hero of Kiri. But Haku got a bit serious, not failing to touch her chest at this moment, remembering the wound that Naruto had made on her. She always wanted to protect her master from everything and would give her life for it, but in front of that man, she was nothing. She and her master were easily defeated, they were no more than an ant against Naruto. It was frustrating for her to think that way.
Meanwhile, Kimimaro shook his head, answering the boy. "No, Iryn. Naruto is a busy man, you should know that while he takes care of important village affairs, but he gave a very important mission for you. Therefore, we have to be quick before we travel to Konoha as you've already received the mission. And yet, I must do a test, but we will talk about that later."
Kimimaro said before continuing. "For now, let's first get to know about you, then we'll deal with other things. It's the first time I'm doing something like this, so forgive me a bit for my unpreparedness," he said, opening a smile. "I would like to know," he began to think about how he would get to know these children better. "your likes, dislikes, and dreams," he requested, as the three thought about it.
"Let me start!" Iryn Dokugiri immediately spoke up, and Kimimaro nodded.
"I am Iryn Dokugiri. I like to train and find justice to create a better world," he said with determination, with Naruto's ideology being implemented at the academy, it began to bear some fruits. Some villages used this academy process to cement children's loyalty towards the villages. Naruto, however, wanted children to have a sense of justice, not just for the village, but for the whole world, with the dream of creating a better and just world, seeking true peace.
Kimimaro nodded in approval. It was no secret that this boy was a big fan of Naruto and he couldn't expect less. "Now, the next," Kimimaro looked towards the red-haired boy.
"I... I am Ikua Terumi..." The boy seemed quite shy again. "I like to do my things alone, but I don't like to be bothered when I am alone. My dream is to find someone to marry my cousin, she seems like a very sad woman," he spoke, and Kimimaro looked oddly at the boy. He was Mei's cousin, but he didn't know there was such a strange dream like this, if the woman heard this, they would be in bad shape, so he decided not to tell anyone about it.
"Well, let's go to the last," Kimimaro murmured while looking towards Haku.
"I..." She hesitated a bit regarding these questions, never having to answer anything like this. "I like being useful. I don't like not being useful. About my dream... I still don't have one," she commented softly, and Kimimaro scratched his head at this answer but sighed, not pressing any further.
"Well, I think with that we can move on," Kimimaro said at the end. "Next round, we'll test your abilities. So, I will test you in a fight, I want all three of you against me," he declared.
The three nodded upon hearing this, and Kimimaro began to rise from the bones. "Well, let's get started then," he said, as he walked to the middle of the training field, with the three getting ready to face him.
This was the ultimate test to see if they were fit for the mission or not, since they needed a group with the strength of a Chunin, or even above that, to make it to the end of the exam in Konoha, since he wanted to see what would happen with Konoha.
