You know who else is a hoot? Our sweet new cinnabun, Cao Weining! He's such a bean and his INSTANT crush on Gu Xiang?! Love! You know what else I love?! DADDY WEN KEXING ENERGY, Y'ALL! I am LIVING for this episode; it's one of my favorites so far!

I am in LOVE with the Tragicomic ghost - she is immaculate so far! <3 AND HAHAHA - “successful” as a random quality - that is HILARIOUS! I hadn’t thought of that! Cao Weining is also an adorable cinnamon roll and I love his and Gu Xiang’s dynamic so far! WKX being a nerd about the mixed up poetry is hilarious - And yes, Cao WeiNing is NOT too different from him!! That’s a great point! Hahaha I love that! And that line Gu Xiang tells him about ZZS - straight to the heart! I love ZZS and WKX subtle flirting over market finds and him paying for everything! <3 And yeah, ZZS has really opened up to WKX and isn’t pushing him away so much anymore. 2025-03-16 18:38:56 +0000 UTCTragicomic ghost is our queen I can't help but laugh every time I hear WKX list "successful" among his "positive qualities", like I can't exactly disagree but also wtf does that mean specifically?? At this point he's just adding random words lol Gu Xiang and Cao Weining's conversation always cracks me up, him just being a cinnamon roll and her taking everything he says the wrong way, they're so cute. I love how WKX's biggest gripe with Cao Weining is that he mixed up poetry, he's such a nerd. If he went out of Dad Mode for a second he might realize that him and CWN aren't so different, WKX was also instantly smitten with ZZS and constantly tries to charm him with poetry and food (or maybe that's exactly why he doesn't want him near his Ah Xiang since this strategy is currently working pretty well for him lol) Gu Xiang telling WKX that he seems more like a person when ZZS is around hits every time "Ah Xu, give me your wallet" like they're already married, "Why should I give you money, we're not close😌" then looking at WKX with a smile that totally says otherwise and WKX going "🤨?????" Is one of my favourite exchanges, it pretty much describes their dynamic in a nutshell Also notice how little resistance ZZS puts up towards WKX at this point. He let himself be stopped by his fan, let himself be dragged through the streets and you know he's gonna give in whenever he starts arguing/asking questions instead of outright refusing him (see: "What happened to your boat?, I don't believe you" -> lets him come along anyway; "Everyone who's seen my real face died, trust should be mutual" -> lets him see his face anyway; "What happened to your wallet?, We're not close" -> gives him his money anyway. I'm sure there are more examples I'm not thinking of, he does this all the time like you are whipped sir) I'm convinced ZZS said the thing about interest not because he actually wants his money back but it's his way of telling WKX to stick around without having to admit (to WKX and to himself) that he likes his company

2025-03-16 18:33:10 +0000 UTCIt’s VERY hard not to binge; I told BeHappy that the only things keeping me from doing so completely are the other shows on the channel and waiting for the comments, haha!! That and wanting to savor this show while I can, honestly. That’s interesting with the “happiness” character; The TragiComic ghost is GORGEOUS. That’s much more appropriate with her nail attire and the symbolism there. I think that if I had nails like that, I would need nail guards. I am definitely #TEAMGHOST right now based on their designs and personalities being so vibrant and interesting! And who doesn’t like badass women and morally grey characters!? I regret nothing with making Gao Chong a redneck! At least XiaoLian seems sweet! Zhou just can’t resist finding out the secrets of what’s going on, and of course WKX is going to be right there with him! I really liked the “codes” and ZZS working to figure it all out! They really do have a “jedi” air about them in terms of being “outsiders” that get wrangled into all this political intrigue. Gu Xiang is such a badass! I love her sticking up for the girl performer and then we meet Cao WeiNing! This adorable man! I love him already, too! He’s so enamored with GX! He’s such a lamb and GX is like, “A fellow foodie!” But AHEM - that scene where ZZS notices them and then makes it a MOMENT to show WKX - I was ENAMORED with that whole scene! Obsessed with Gong Jun’s acting and WKX’s IMMEDIATE change into PROTECTIVE DAD MODE. I agree that WKX didn’t realize how ZZS has been “changing him” and it’s adorable! And YESSSSS, I immediately thought of Wei WuXian asking LWJ for money – only it’s different this time for these characters! And I love that WKX thought he’d get GX surprised at the real ZZS, but then is immediately jealous that she gets to poke at his face when he can’t! XD Shen Shen is just…a LOT for a character, this is true! That makes sense that Netflix translates it a little more…normal, haha! It definitely doesn’t have that ick factor that these subs did, so that’s good to know! And I’m glad some of my random jokes landed! This episode was so good and from what I have been able to watch ahead on…I’m SO ready to just melt into a fangirl puddle in front of you all. Thank you for the comment!

2025-03-12 22:30:55 +0000 UTCWKX is just the BIGGEST flirt! And ahhh, that makes sense about the catkin! And ahhhh, GX has met her EXACT type - Cao WeiNing - he’s so precious! I just love how protective he is of Gu Xiang! That protective mode he enters is a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH! The line about ZZS making WKX seem more like a person hit me at my CORE – the way that Gong Jun acted out that moment?! INSANITY! Also, that is hilarious about the notion that WKX is trying to find whatever ZZS is interested in or what will get him to like him more – especially with the sugar baby vs. daddy idea – flexibility eh? It’s also REALLY sweet to see ZZS loosening up around WKX as well. And yes, we love a waiter that’s all for love being love! 😛 Thank you for the comment; I am in love with these characters so much already!

Zhou Zishu's voice actor is Gu Jiangshan, who was also the voice actor for Jin Zixuan from the Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua. Wen Ke Xing's voice actor hasn't voiced any roles you'd know him, but his Japanese voice actor makes me really want to listen to the Japanese dub (it's Suwabe 🥰😆). Zhao Jing's voice actor is Guo Haoran. He is also the voice actor for Jiang Cheng in the Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua. The Beauty Ghost's VA is Qiao Shiyu who was also the voice actor for Wen Qing in Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua and The Untamed. Cao Weining's voice actor is Su Shangqing. He's also the voice actor for Jin Ling in the Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua and Cheng Xiaoshi in the Link Click donghua 🥰

Also he keeps comparing ZZS to willow catkin because of his fake name "Zhou Xu", the character Xu means catkin, the floating, fluffy willow catkin kind Ah remember in episode 3, when WKX asked GX who the cutest person in the world is. We all remember what WKX's answer was of course, but GX also anwered: "Someone who treats me to dinner". Well well, Cao Weining sure scores points with her haha The line "When you are around him, you seem more like a person" hits me in feels out of nowhere. And WKX's subtle change in expression. Wow what a way to say a lot with so little huh PROTECTIVE DAD WEN KEXING MY BELOVED!!! The relationship between him and Gu Xiang is one of my favourite things in this show. I love everything about the banter at the end. ZZS is acting more and more comfortable around WKX and I love every second of it. And maybe WKX feels like his sugar daddy plan did not work previously, so he is changing strategies and becoming the sugar baby instead lolll. I love a flexible man. The waiter at the end said gay rights tho! I was laughing when he said to them "Can you please pay first? Then you can touch whoever you want, however you want"

But also totally understand that need to just watch something specific over other shows you might need to react to, especially when it's this series 😁 So the character for happiness is another part of a Chinese wedding ceremony like with all the red. Just typically at a Chinese wedding ceremony they have things with the character on it twice for double happiness. So only one character of happiness fits a ghost called the TragiComic (her title is one of the few translated the same in the Netflix subtitles), especially when those she's ruling justice over are cheaters. That entrance, her being the owner of a list of the Unfaithful, her entire attire, and her beauty immediately made me love her and immediately want to kneel at her feet 🧎♀🥰 Also long nails were a symbol of wealth and power in ancient Chinese custom. Long nails reflected that that person was above doing/needing to do menial labour. And the nail guards (hu zhi) were an elaborate fashion accessory to protect their nails from breaking, while also showing off the wealth they had. Glad to have you on our Team Ghost. Their costume design, personalities, and being more upfront of being grey-coloured characters definitely makes me love them. But yes love how many badass women we get in this series 😍 The NASCAR comment about Gao Chong took me out 😂 Xiaolian is such a sweetie 🥺 Zhou Zishu about to leave Chengling be now that the demand made of him by the boatman has been fulfilled, but then gets roped in after seeing his former comrades involved 😆 But it led to this flirty reunion with Wen Ke Xing so it's fine 🥰 Calling themselves Zhao Jing's friends definitely felt exactly like Obi Wan Kenobi's "These aren't the droids you're looking for" 😂 I love all the codes and intricate way the spies communicate with one another to avoid getting caught. Gi Xiang's "18 Touches" I adore her so much. Love her sticking up for and protecting the poor young girl. But Cao Weining sees her beat up a bunch of drunk frat bros and immediately falls 🥰 Such a precious puppy. Cao Weining wanting the guards to go off so as he can get back to his date in peace always makes me smile 🥰 I love how innocently forward he is with telling Gu Xiang she's beautiful. Gu Xiang is deserving of all the praise he can throw at her feet. But poor Cao Weining, Daddy Wen Ke Xing is in the building! I love though that it was Zhou Zishu who noticed them first because Wen Ke Xing was too focused on his Ah-Xu to notice things around him 🤣 Your mentioning how Wen Ke Xing definitely seems stricter with Gu Xiang seems very apt for the way he reprimands and "protects" her from hanging out with Cao Weining. But her line about him being more like a person around Zhou Zishu, and Wen Ke Xing's shock and lack of realisation for how he's been behaving around Zhou Zishu definitely made me melt. Wen Ke Xing's "I'll pay" and then turning to Zhou Zishu for his wallet reminds me so much of Wei Wuxian using Lan Wangji's purse as his own 🤣 Wen Ke Xing being all proud at Gu Xiang's shock for Zhou Zishu's true face only to change his tune when she just kept on touching his face is one of my favourite Wen Ke Xing and Gu Xiang interactions 😆 Shen Shen is definitely that friend of a friend who cannot hold his drink 😅 Yeah I don't know which is more true to what Zhao Jing said to Xiaolian but in the Netflix subtitles they don't translate that line to mean she's "blossomed into womanhood", instead they simply say "you've really grown up" which doesn't quite have the same kind of negative/ick factor connotation to it as it is a phrase adults use when a child grows taller, not a specific phrase to describe someone having gone through puberty. I had to pause because I was laughing so hard at you saying "the bros wanted the Thong Song played" 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly feels like an accurate description of that scene!
