DanDaDan: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*TOTALLY CRUSHING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

It's the "Rule of 8" and DanDaDan isn't playing! Aira is "totally crushing" on Ken, so what is Momo and Ken to do about it?! On top of dealing with a newly joined third wheel...things at the high school are not all great...what's this new threat at the start of season's final act?!

DanDaDan: Episode 8 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

The noodle scene at the start is hilarious! And yes, Aira and Momo are such rivals in the craziest way! That’s a fair interpretation of Ken as well in that scene! And yeah, these teenagers are VERY teenage! Hahaha!! I feel the gross nostalgia of high school drama, haha! And yeah, Airrraaaaaaaa - I do like the subversion of expectations, but I’m definitely part of the “protecc Okarun” squad! Momo is so on-character and such a tsundere – I love her but I want to gently shake her! It is a nice switch, but I’m over here like, “Whhhhyyyyy???” hahaha!! I wasn’t sure if Aira would channel Silky’s powers or how it would look, but it looks very cool and I’m surprised it was THIS soon! I’m very curious to see where this all goes! Thank you for the comment!

Hahaha, oooh, that AOT alteration would have been great! And yes, the cut to Turbo Granny was WILD! Ahhh, I feel you in hearing Fiona and HA! That is a very fair comment about Ken being about to see through Aira - this girl is not subtle! I do think that the concept is hilarious that Aira is so delusional – I still want that apology, but alas, the Yuks it is. I agree, if she is comedic and grows as a character, then I can totally see getting on board with her! We’ll see how she shakes out! And ooooh, my brother would be 100% on board with the Mongolian Death Worm. 😀I do love Nessie, though! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

I think i might have one minor criticism of the last episode, they could have tried the altered or removed after credits, like in AoT when (we thought) -redacted- died. Happy-go-lucky Turbo Granny dancing to cheery music didn't quite fit the mood, just saying. I've said before that i can't hear that it's the same actress that does Aira, Fiona Frost and Gabi but when Aira turned into her Acrobatic Silky form i did hear a bit of Fiona in there, and i guess she now occupies a very similar position in this show as Fiona does in SpyxFamily, well except Loid has no idea about Fiona's feelings, i think Ken will have no problem discerning Aira's. Yeah Aira can (could :P) be frustrating but at this point i find her only being the comic relief and as you pointed out, a trope dispenser. So at the moment i'm with granny Seiko, clear Main Protagonist and Chosen Magical Girl Aira falling in love with... gasp... a demon is the more hilarious route. Aira apologizing to Ken? Would make for a more human, healthy and touching scene. Aira completely ignoring the words and deeds of the world destroying demon Momo? Better for the yuks. Now, if she really comes between Ken and Momo and never improves as a person i will have a problem with her, thus far? I'm just really enjoying her brand of deluded comedy. Clearly the best cryptid is the Mongolian Death Worm, but yeah Nessie is a good one too. :)

This episode was so much fun, but, yeah, so frustrating as well XD I LOVE the noodle scene at the beginning! I thought it was hilarious too *lol* And I just love that both Aira and Momo are just waiting to take the BIGGEST bites of noodles before they start going on these super long tirades. Peak comedy, I tell you. My take on Okarun looking so uncomfortable right at the beginning, while they are eating, is that he was weary to be between these two girls, who are acting all calm and collected right now but were fighting not too long ago. And that is reinforced by having them both reflect on his glasses, one on each lens. I don't think he was thinking anything romantic then; now, if he will go there with Aira, who knows, but I don't think it's instant for him, specially considering how long it took him to realize Momo is cute. As frustrating as get with pretty much everyone's actions in this episode, I appreciate that they are acting like dumb teenagers who don't know how to communicate instead of being weirdly insightful. Stupid drama is good on my book as long as you know that's what you're getting. The whole Aira scene was... rough, to say the least. I was definitely screaming at her to not do that because... yeah. That being said, nice subversion of expectations because, typically, you would expect the guy being the one pushing himself on a girl and being very, and uncomfortably persistent and forward and here we have Aira pushing herself on poor Okarun. Momo not listening to Okarun's explenations is so on-character for her. At this point, I think we can say confidently that she is a hot head, as she acts rashly and then regrets it consistently, specially where it comes to Okarun (the first episode and her saying some hurtful things to Okarun about being friendless and then IMMEDIATELY regretting it) and that's a nice trait to give her; again, I don't think the girl being the hot head of the group is very tropy, and that's a nice little switcheroo. I'll be honest, I was expecting Aira to have Acrobatic Silky's powers after last episode and just nodded along when it was revealed in this episode. It's definitely going to be fun seeing how she justifies this to herself, though she already sort of did with the whole "I am the chosen one", and all.
