After a WALLOP of an episode set last week, this was SO what we needed! I love Taki and Natsume's interactions, but to get them - plus ADORABLE and CREEPY yokai - plus friendship - plus bittersweet heartache?! It's just the typical Natsume formula, but OH is it done so well this week!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! The Natsume mix cannot go wrong in my eyes! Taki is such a badass and honestly, she’s a lot stronger than she gives herself credit for if she was able to take on those visions/voices! But yeah, her and Reiko!Madara are such a ship! It’s really sad that the yokai point out the problems with interactions being…limited. And YES, Natsume in his cycle of being the one to take the brunt of burden, even when it hurts himself…it’s so sad! I just want to hug him and for him to know he’s not alone in this! Thank you so much - this season has been SO GOOD!

2025-03-30 21:45:40 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction and discussion! This was another excellent episode, the consistent Natsume mix: cute and a bit creepy, heartfelt and melancholy. I love Taki, but in her place if I was having dreams about hearing voices and someone asking for my help – my sleep would be very disturbed, she seemed very chill about it all, total badass. Loved seeing Taki and Reiko!Madara meet! I see this ship, too! 😂 “If you can’t see us – we may as well not exist” – that was such a sad line, lovely discussion around it. My other favourite line in this ep was Natsume’s: “I wish I could let you hear it too, but only I can.” I read it as not just ‘only I am able to,’ but also ‘only I can and should take on this burden.’ Natsume taking up all the emotional labour, of course. Looking forward to next week! 💙
